Is the comp tester your using have an adapter on it which connects to another piece? I had an issue before when I had one of those and I was reading somewhere like 100psi. Once I got the right comp tester I was up at 168psi where I should of been.
they went pretty quick, good stuff man.
Make sure when you box them up the box is as small as you can get it with the fenders in there. They were trying to charge me close to $100 to ship out my Maiers until I cut the box down 5 times and finally got it the correct size. Didnt matter if the whole thing only weighed 12lbs. I think I finally ended up around a 35"x30"x9 box when all said and done, anything bigger was way expensive.
What kind of 33's? I havent found the 2 bolts but I will check the shop next to my work, the guy prob has extra's laying around. I do have a couple extra of the normal size cool head bolts and tested it the other day and they worked, just had to put a little RTV on them and they sealer right up but I will see if I can get the two proper ones tomorrow.
I know there was someone on Planet sand selling a complete set for like $20 as well.
I had thought about getting the carbs done but I read a lot about them being a real PITA to jet right. I was hoping to just wait out a little and go with 30-33mm carbs but thats why I was curious how far the stockers will get me for now. I guess the dune season is coming to an end soon as well so the shee will be held up for a while where I can def do more damage to it. Thanks for the UNI and K&N tips, I kinda thought uni's might be better for the desert due to the fine sand but wasnt sure.
I have a set of upper and lower arms but one of them is bent from a rock, could just replace it and go from there. Open to offers I guess.
Rock damaged A-arm, it does still bolt up though.
No no scratches, just normal rub marks where the seat goes over the rear fender, there is a key hole tapped into the side, I think you can see it in the pic. No big deal man, let me know whenever. Good luck on the sale
Just want to hit you guys up first before I go ebay or the local performance shop. Looking for a +6 brake line, bar clamps for fat bars and a nice long chain I can cut down. maybe one of you have something laying around that fits my needs?
Thanks
Yeah factory cut from Laker
(edit) Didnt know if you were looking for full cut or not....
There a little dusty in this pic but let me know, no big deal, just would make it easier for me not to have to tear down half my bike to PC it so it matches properly.
Is there a better choice between the Uni foam pods and the K&N's? I have a set of both and wondering which ones to hold on to. My shee is going for desert only pretty much so not sure if one is better than the other so wanted to ask.
Also curious about the stock carbs. How far can you really go with them due to their size. Say with a full dune port, shearers, decked head with about 165 comp when is it time to go bigger and how much bigger is needed? Thanks
Forgot to add, I also have my old set of plastics I am going to part with. The fronts are race cut and I will include the same grille in the pic only it is a silver color. The fronts are black along with the tank cover but the RAD was a blue color in which I painted. Been through the AZ desert with rocks and everything and has 2 very minor chips. Looks like it came already black. Asking $85 shipped for them. The tape is just to hold it all as one piece.
