If you want to stay under a 30mm carb, then you should just have your stock carbs bored out to a 27.5 Cheaper than buying new carbs and you will feel a nice gain. I think its like $40 per carb or something around there. Just my .2cents

I dont really know to much about this stuff, with the bore, detonation etc.. Im just trying to help you and greg figure out whats going on with his bike. The race gas that we where using is C12, they said that it was 108octane.

To add to this, Greg didnt even ride the bike for more than 15-20 mins at a time. Also his spark plugs where backing themselves out. He realized this when he went to examine his plugs and was able to take them out by hand. He is 100% positive that he tightened them. So what would cause his plugs to back out?????

Hey sleeper, His bike was breaking up since day one. It was idling perfect, while in neutral if you snap the throttle it was crisp with no bog at all. It was breaking up 1/2-full throttle. I was having the same prob with my shee, jetting was perfect till i got to glamis and then it started running like shit.. And on day 3 BOOOM.. Anyway, were you guys running straight race gas before Glamis? wouldnt 108 octane mixed 50/50 be boarder line @ 175 psi? I think Greg mad to big of a jump with his jetting to really find his prob. 192-172 55-50 Where the hoses hitting the pipes? At least nothing got messed up to0o bad.

I ran a few of them that where stock and I WASNT impressed but i Heard that they turn into monsters with just a few mods so who knows. I think Jeff @ F.A.S.T has a bad-ass 700 if im not mistaken.

Honestly im not sure if he did a pressure test. The new motor had about 5-7 rides on it before the trip to glamis. All new bearings and seals where used. Okay, thanks for all the info. I will be fixing it myselve, Im kinda excited bc it will be my first time splitting the cases. Yea Andy the noise was coming from the left side. That bitch is getting all long travel suspension though and a bunch of other goodies. I was messing with the jetting the whole time i was there trying to get it perfect. O0o0 no doubt Im def going to fix it. I just wanted to hear what usually causes this to fail. There has to be something. 0 and its a 4mil long rod crank, forgot to mention that.

Okay that might have been what I was told, But what causes a crank bearing to go bad? I have never split the cases before, but this time around I will be doing it myselve, sine I have another bike to ride and im in no rush. So what causes a crank bearing to fail?
