Nope.. not the only one...
That and the mile long list of mods that inlclude Parking brake block off, stainless brake lines, braided throttle cable, Renthal bars, Scott grips, FOX bar pad..... you get the idea.
You can get a stock motor off ebay for around 800... have the cylinders ported, crankd trued welded, reeds and you might beable to squeeze a set of carbs out of it... i think that would probabaly about take up the 1600.
I got bored so I thought I'd try to plan out my summer. Just wondering where everyone was going so maybe we could get as many people in one place as possible.
Heres my schedule so far.. I havn't made any plans yet for Memorial day or the 4th yet.. kinda waiting to see what everyone else is doing.
June 10th thru the 14 for the ATV bash and I'll be staying @ Jellystone
July 17-26th Silver lake, I'll be @ Jellystone for that aswell
Labor day I'll be in silver lake... Just dont know where yet
Ionia (Show me the money) race..
could be.. We'll have to discuss the arts of tire inflation and theory's sometime!! lol should make for some interesting drinking material!! lol
not to get thread off track.. I leave in 2nd.. lol
I could leave in 2nd with my 4mil cub 15/40 gearing. with 13pdl extreme's
But.. I've always done the opposite with my tire pressure compared to Travis. More pressure = more spin
When I first got my chassis I was runnin 4.5lbs.. and my 60ft were horrible.. 1.67 to 1.75 was spinning till half track. Droped teh pressure to 3.5lbs and My 60 got better, started seeing 1.5's droped to 2lbs and started hooking too hard to keep the front end down..
Is that the crank that I sold you? If it is, the stator side bearing is a lil over a year old and I sent you a brand new PTO side bearing. The crank is OEM that was rebuilt with hotrods and was in the banshee (2001) when I bought it. I cant say for sure how old the center bearings are. When I got the bike I split the motor and re did all the seals and put new outer bearings on. Rode it for about a year and a half with no problems. Center bearing looked good to me and I couldn't find any play. I even took it up took it to a shop for a second opinion and they said it looked good too. But if there is any problem with it let me know and I'll take care of it.
I used my old Hide-a-key plate.. fit perfect.. just used some self tappers to attatch it to the plate.. Tucks up nicely under the front nose.. wires run along the frame. Gets all that junk from the back up front and makes for a clean subframe..
Some interesting responses, I got to thinking the other day..Their is nothing left on my bike that hasn't been modded or replaced from its original state... except for the rear brake caliper.. lol
If you put a corvette motor into a dune buggy... is it still a Corvette?
To what extent of motor mods is the motor still banshee based? Does it need to retain the stock cases? can cases be modified?
in my opinion.. it needs to retain the stock chassis, cases and use banshee based pistons to called a true banshee..
yeah..... i'm sure there is a loop hole somewhere in there but.... what can you do?
Just like the title says..
This was coverd awhile back.. but I figured we got some new people here so we'd give it another go and see what everyone thinks.
