  1. Here we go again............... he used a oscillating flow bench designed by Fig Newton, model #356-niner007.. It flows 6 millions pixels per linear ft. But.. it didn't pass the Firehead Technical inspection... So its not Firehead compliant.
  2. heres a 4mil dune port... with 34pj's and shearers. Not too far off. Just needs some more tuning. I'd like to see it with CPI's then tinker with some timing and compression. You have to compare apples to apples here.. You can't compare a 4mil cub to a stock stroke stock cylinder.. your giving up 70cc's. I bet if you looked at 4mil 65bore cub.. it might be a different story all together.
  3. Whats your jetting, elevation and mods?
  4. ohhhhhhhhh... now I understand.. lol Nevermind..
  5. you'll need new bearings along with a new crush tube and spacers.. I got mine from modquad. JJA gave me a run around..
  6. yeah.. Even the dealers wont tell you the displacement of a brand new banshee.. :ninja: lol
  7. What crank? rod length? striaght cuts? if so what ratio? overide? if so what kind? Pistons? Ignition? Price? I was interested.
  8. 10mil what?? the title doesn't tell ya anything about the motor. Post what it is and a price, if people are interested they'll PM you.
  9. I dont knw WTF brand i'm using right now?? Think the wife brought them home from the bargain barn or somthing.. All I know is it sucks and i'm getting some new ones for christmas!!! lol
  10. Thats because your parents wont let you out of the drive way yet.. ::
  11. You posted the video of them going straight for 5 seconds or so.. not me. And so far.. thats the only video's you've posted "going straight for 5 seconds or so". So if you ever make it to a a track (most of the time its bracket racing so you'll get a handicap) post a time slip up. If its faster then ANY of my time slips.. I'll sell my banshee for $5 and buy a LT. I'd wipe my ass with the time slips from an LT too.
  12. Sorry, I misread that.. I thought I saw (can't) keep up.
  13. Yeah.. I can see your friend gettin beat... when you use BB sleeves in stock cylinders you choke down the transfers which REALLY hurts the power... If you guys happen to have some dyno's of your guys setups, I'd really like to see them and compare curves.
  14. I think this is where the problem started... The port durations on the cub are Drag port spec out of the box. Sure.. you can drop the exhaust by decking the base.. but... now your putting more time, labor and $$$ into a already more expsensive setup. Porting is the heart of the motor.. You use timing and compression to compliment the porting. Drag ported cylinders sacrafice bottom end.. (as stated above) Why build a motor with less bottom end just to try and add it back with pipes, timing and compression? Like RIPPEN said.. And I agree, I think this is what most of us are trying to say. "I think the simple fact that Dave is trying to make is that a stock cyl ported 4mill remotly set up right can run up to what your getting out of a "piped down" cub.. " On a side note.. I've heard a rumor.. not sure if there is any truth to this or not.. but.. I heard that Dan hull AKA A&S racing.. Helped design the port layout on the cubs with Calvin. Anyone who knows who Dan Hull is knows what his main goal is.....
  15. The 80hp motor I was refering to was a 65mm bore with 4mil crank. Dune ported by passion, no welding. Very reliable. I've seen a dune ported 4mil by FAST.. thing flat out rips and is very reliable also.. 80hp from a dune port is fairly common and they are VERY realiable motors. Both motors have well over 3 seasons on them.
  16. I'd get the cool head and some boyesen power reeds. The VF3's are way overkill on a stock ported bike.
  17. Gotta find a way to measure the stroke from BDC to TDC.. only way to know.
  18. Got any time slips for them turds yet? or you guys still to scared to take them to a track for some real racing? lol
  19. Really??? Thats it? Yeah.. ur right.. that 250 is faster then a trail banshee. I should just give up and buy a LT.
  20. Gotcha.. Yah.. a twister motor makes more sense now. 460 kinda threw me for a sec. I'm not familiar with the twisters port layout out of the box. But I have heard there is alot more to work with for porting. I'm sure your setup with proper porting runs hard. I was refering to the cubs. 95% of us over here use CP stuff so I wont pretend to have alot of experience with the twisters.
  21. I think if your not building a drag bike.. you'll be more then happy with them. The motor I'm putting them in is a 10mil cub.. so.. I'm not sure if they'll perform as well as the VF or not.. but I think on the smaller motors.. especially the non drag ported motors they'll work great. I plan on doing some dyno testing with them and comparing them to the VF3's when I get a chance.
  22. Just curious.. Why would you keep building the same type of motor? Why didn't you just use a cheetah PV. It would have saved you money in the long run and had ALOT better power spread. Rather then get a motor and place the power where you want it.. Why not just buy a motor with the power where you want it? Thats like your top fuel dragster theory.. you could buy the top fueler then place the power where you want it.. or you could just buy the ferrari.. See my point? Pick a pipe to suit the motor.. not a motor to suit the pipe. Its cheaper and easier not to mention you'll get better overall power. You said your running a 460, so I'm assuming your using a 10mil cub? I'd have to say that a 421 cheetah PV with CPI's would have more bottom power and more top power then a 10mil cub with PT's. Ofcourse thats all theoretical, I havn't seen many PV dyno's.. But I think it'd give it one hell of a run.
  23. I got a set.. Verdict isn't out yet since the motor is still in pieces.. lol Its a nice looking cage and I wouldn't hesitate on buying anything from Chariot performance.. All their products are top notch. Your saving money over the VF3's and if you ever need replacement pedals.. thier cheap too. My vote would go to the Chariot cages. They really look like they flow good with the matching intakes!
  24. happy B-day you old Turd! lol
  25. No.. Silver Lake Sand Dunes isn't the biggest in the country but its not the smallest either. I'ver heard of a few other that were smaller. I think its 1500 acres or somthing like that with 800 acres set aside for ORV use. I started out dune riding like most people and just wanted to keep going faster and faster.. Next thing you know your doing dune drags.. and then your at the track with your dune bike getting times.. and next thing you know.. you got a fully built drag bike. Its a sickness..
