No I am not comparing dollar for dollar mods and yes I got alot more than 2grand in mods. I am proud of every dollar I have spent. And if the 4mil riders take to much time spinning they are not hard to beat. I can, and usually do, catch them at the end of 300ft. Any longer and usually easilly past them but not all of them

Yes I got more than 2 grand in mods and was making 96 reliable gas hp that last time on the dyno. Things have since changed since then....I guess there bikes are not setup right....I would'nt go so far as to call them dipshits, they are friends. All my new lectron carbs, ported intakes did'nt make the difference I needed with the DS so I stepped it up some and they went out and got the 4mil's. They will be back with improvements too....it all in fun.

Ya the "who's faster" debate should be left at the track and not on the keyboard.... I had a shee and will get another someday, hopefully one of them limited edition ones that have that old yellow black scheme. Can someone tell me how much it would cost to get say a 4mil, reliable dune port/ trail port or are the 4 mil and up mainly drag engines.

Us 4 strokers are making your $1000 dollar worth of mods look slow....Ya I know we have to spend twice that to keep up but its fun smoken the 4mills

Are you having problems keeping the front down now? I have a +6 on my KMS DS730 and with a good setup i was able to keep the front down on the launch. Its a good feeling to launch fairly hard under moderate boost in second with a 17 front sprocket and not until 4th and fifth under full boost will the front rise up as boost rises. :ohmy:

This MIGHT be the new standard in quad designs/engines if Bombardier-CAN-AM wants to be the greatest threat to shee's. It's getting closer to comparing apples to apples. 350cc twin 2 stroke vs 450 twin 4 stroke. One puts out 50hp stock the other 65hp stock. Old technology vs new technology. The 2 strokes are not going to be able to hold there ground with out something new and what more can you do with them and be RELIABLE.

Ya I was down there last Sandfest. I wish I was leaving today to go this year. Last year was the first time out with the big bore on it and I was still having some troubles. Its gotten better though

Well from what I have seen there has not been to many problems with them that I am aware of. Other than the guys bolting turbos on them...the bottom ends do not seem to hold together to well after 100+hp. Like the first year raptor had tranny problems, I have not heard of this with any 450's

Even Calvin at CP Industries admits it that the 4strokes have caught and won the single cylinder shootout at last springs Planet sand race. He said the 4strokes have caight the 2 strokes sleepin and I am sure he will be back to try to regain the 2stroke domination in that class with a new and bigger single. I am not so sure a new port design will will find twice the HP.

I agree the banshees have held there own but whats wrong with some new 4 stroke technolgy. It seems shees are only getting bigger CC's. That planet sand 4stroke was a 855 single. The other 4stroke was not far behind but both were hitting the nos hard just as the shees do. I think they both hope to drop maybe another tenth in october. Dont let it suprise you if a aprilia 450 twin with claimed 65hp stock and a +14000rpm walks all over the zilla and shee. And then put a turbo on it and have a fast reliable new tech quad. Only problem I see is going to be the price....if it happens

I think the Bombardier/Can-Am 450 twin will send all the jap bikes back to the drawing boards. I think the 2strokers are feelin us 4strokes catching up fast and we have only been competitive with the banshees for a few years....thus the 10mils, 20mils...

The second week in october is Clash of the Titans in Sicily Island LA.

Your going to need alot of porting and tuning to keep up with some of us slow pokes!

Soon I will be in the 320-330lb range, last time on the drum I was at 96hp on gas..... with a drag axle and spindle mount Banshee front wheels and running methonal I will be back on the dyno for more tuning and then we can start turning up the boost and messing with the timing. I should be ready for sandfest. Last year at the local track I didnt have much trouble with any of the banshees there on that day. It was those little 450's on the bottle that I have trouble staying ahead of or at least running down in 300ft. With a little more weight loss or a longer track I should do okay but yes it has cost me a fortune....

Thats good to hear cuz my slow poke is still needing some more hours spent building.

That would be MrHorsepowers DS (3.96) that won at Planet Sand this spring with Airforceone right behind him with a 4.1 on his YFZ

Ya I know, nothing will be as fast as a banshee but what good is 90hp at 11000 rpm if you cant get it to the ground. Let me guess, you have never lined up with a 4 stroke that actually gave you a good run. And there will never be a 4 stroke that can keep up with your little 90hp bike. I have to admit I used to think my banshee couldnt be beat either....

You wouldnt have any reliability and we'd be out riding the dunes and hitting the track while you would be wrenching. Man you 2strokers are easy to get riled or maybe just insecure. :biggrin:

Well now I have heard Chris has a new place with a new track. Anybody know where he has moved to and if he has another track

I predict the current crop of 450's are going to have to go back to the drawing board when Bombardier/CAN-AM comes out with there 450. Probably have to watch out for the KTM 450 also. Its all going to be good for competition.
