  1. We got a heat wave this weekend, it was hotter then normal temps. It was in the mid 90's. Here's another for you!
  2. Dirt tires are fine in the sand, but you'll float over the sand and turn better with sand fronts. I love my Dune Trackers when making those last minute turns.
  3. I was out there for last years ride. Not as many people showed up, but it was cool. I'm not sure if I'll make it out this time. Our group hasn't decided on what time to head out here. CONGRATS on the baby. The dunes aren't going anywhere man! enjoy time with the family.
  4. All Highway/Road laws apply to Glamis now, so just don't have any open containers in your ride. Having beer out there is Ok as long as you don't have any glass containers. We usually camp out by the Glamis store, just because the vendors and restrooms are close. I'm one of the few that doesn't have a toy hauler yet  ......some day though!
  5. BITCHEN SETUP MAN!
  6. We're heading out Friday Morning the 26th. :woot:
  7. I'll be out there the 26-28th.
  8. I agree with powdercoating! I don't know if any paint will last on aluminum without chipping.
  9. As for the cutting tool, I found that the best thing to use is this Green Drill cutting wheel from Home Depot. They have them in the tool section for around $7.00-$8.00. The wheel attaches to your drill and is about 6 - 8 inches in Diameter, so you can't get a crooked line. First use masking tape to get your lines where you want them (with the fenders attached to your bike) just start at the back end and work you way up to the front. You can probably get about three sets done on one wheel. Use a razor blade and fin grit sand paper to finish things off. You should really try the GREEN WHEEL, I think it's the best thing in the world.........
  10. HA!!!! Looks like I'll be going down there again in two weeks for the ProDesert El Golfo 200 Race. http://prodesertracing.com/?page_id=2
  11. The beach area stretches a long ways, so yeah! you can just pin the throttle. There's only one major bar there (El Capitan), so it's probably not like San Felipe. It's a very small fishing town. People say it's what Rocky Point used to be.
  12. I'm not sure about the exact directions, this was my first time going. But from Cali, you would have to first get to Calexico, then Mexicali and head South when you get to San Luis. Sorry! that's as good as my directions will get. Or you can drive to Yuma, Az, head south to San Luis and South from there.
  13. The hill isn't all that nice, but it's cool to go out there to cruise the beach and have some beers at El Capitan Bar.
  14. Just thought I would share some pics from EL Golfo (El Golfo de Santa Clara) Mexico, Easter Weekend 2006. Just a few people there that weekend. Light Tower My Cousin's Jeep Rail going up El Machoro Hill Shot of the Sea of Cortez Bottom of El Machoro Hill
  15. Yup! 20 x 10 x 10 with 10 x 8" Douglas Blue labels. They look nice and hook up just right, especially on the steep dunes. I didn't like the sand skates when I would ride with other, cause if you got someone in front of you slowing down on a side of a steep dune, your ass starts to slide downward.
  16. Holeshots for Desert ridding Haulers for the Dunes. You can get around the Dunes in knobbies, but you're going to be spinning the wheels a lot. But they won't be good in the really soft spots.
  17. I've been using UNI Pods on my bike. The only problem I've had was oiling them too much on the outside, which would get the Outerwear soaked, then it would clog up after a couple of days of ridding. I thought something was wrong with my bike because it was bogging out, but it was just the clogged Outerwear.
  18. The bolt pattern for an 06 is 4/115 I'm running 20x10x10 8 paddle Haulers and no engine mods. I love them for dragging or dunning. I had Sand Skate IIs, but didn't like them much. I will probably go with an 8" wheel after I get some engine mods and a 4" swinger. I think 8" wheels with tall haulers look kind of funny with a stock swing arm, that's why I prefer the 10" wheels for now.

    Yeah, lots of info.
  20. What do your plugs look like? Here's my thread: http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...mp;#entry590841 I ended up with the carb setup on my signature. It was running too rich.

  22. I love my 8 paddle Haulers, but my bike is just piped. Some people say that the Extremes grab a little too much because the paddles are a little stiffer then Haulers.
  23. I dune more then I drag, and I'm running 13/41 with a piped bike and 20x10x10 8 paddle Haulers. This setup works great!
