  1. I held the sprocket nut with a wrench and used an impact gun on the flywheel nut. T
  2. Thanks for the replies guys! I never thought of a blue with orange...I am going to have to look and see what it looks like I still am contemplating the green, although I don't know if it will be too much... Another color I was thinking about was a yellow... Well Thanks again And remember to eat your T
  3. Viewed 14 times and no opinions? Come on guys...there can't be a wrong answer...just want your thoughts. Thx, T
  4. Hey guys, I have the a set of the orange fullbores on my bike, but I want to powerder coat the frame/a-arms/etc. I was thinking about maybe a flourescent Green... What are your thoughts for the frame color? Thanks in advance T
  5. Too Funny Boon! Keep that in mind next time when I need to gap my plugs too!
  6. Yeah, I found out the same thing. I can get a used set for 200+ or get a new set for 360. I am wondering what are the disadvantages of going with the new over a used set and vise-versa. T
  7. Sorry about the double post, I noticed that I posted in the wrong area. But... My main bearing on my crank case went out and tore up my cases. I need a set so that I can put my motor back together. If you or anybody you know has a set, please let me know. Thanks, Troy
  8. My main bearing went out on my crank shaft and tore up my case. I am looking for another set of cases. Please let me know if you or anybody you know has some for sale. My banshee is a 93 banshee if that matters. Thanks, Troy
  9. I would definitely agree! Holyman's work is A++. I too am gonna miss the lil' rattle:( ...NOT! Thanks again, Holyman
  10. Well Guys, Got the cases split! Thanks for all of the great suggestions (Actually used the nut on the stud trick and it worked most excellent!) Now that everything is out of the motor, well almost everything... The bearing clip on the right side of the lower case is stuck in its groove. This is the bearing the "grenaded" in my motor. Does anybody have any suggestions as to get it out??? It appears as though the clip has "welded" to the case...probably because all of the friction in the area when the bearing did go out. I tried tapping it with a screwdriver and hammer, but no luck. I tried to pull it with needle-nose pliers, but no luck... I don't know what to do. Another thing I noticed is that the bearing failure has lead to what I would consider pitting in the bore on the lower case where the bearing sits. It is pretty well "roughed" up. Is this something that I would want to send out for fixing or is there some trick for this? FYI: I am going to be sending out my cylinders for some port work, so this may be a time to ask Jim if he could fix up this area too?? As always thanks for your answers! T
  11. Geaux, If you are talking about the two screws that hold the sheetmetal bracket on behind the clutch basket , then yes. Thanks, T
  12. Thanks for all of the replies guys! Has anybody else ever done what skykingcory has done? This seems like what I would try next. I tried the rubber hammer, but I don't want to break or damage anything. Do you guys think that hitting the bolts will hurt anything? Thanks again guys! T
  13. Thanks Fixit, I took a look at that site, but it didn't really have any suggestions as to getting the cases appart. I do have that small bracket removed that it mentions there, but other than that, I didn't see anything that I had to remove. Any other thoughts? Thanks again, T
  14. I am in the process of splitting my cases.... I am at the stage of actually pulling the top off of the bottom. I can see that they have been split before (or so it appears) as I can see grey gasket material coming from between the two halves. I have all of the nuts and bolts off, but now I need some tips on splitting the two. The cylmer says "hit the large metal bosses with a mallet" I hit what looked like would be safe, but I have not been able to remove the two. If you guys have any suggestions, pictures, or helpful comments, please share. I searched the forums, but could not find any information. Thanks in advance! T
  15. Blacksmith, Thanks for the reply! You may be correct on that note. I was just following the cylmers to split the cases and it said to remove that gear... I am at the step just after removing the clutch boss and clutch plates etc. I will analyze that tonight. Thanks again, T
  16. Linc, Same thing happen'd with Shell's old bike. CDI took a dump...wouldn't do crapola. I put a used one in it and it worked great. Might check out good ol'ebay. I wish I could have been there with ya guys. Still working on my bike...in between work around the house T
  17. I am still in the process of tearing my case apart, but I don't know what size socket I need for the nut. I think that this is the water pump gear...still in the learning process of what all the parts are sorry. I have attached a word doc that has a picture of the nut. I borrowed the image from http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/clutchstator.htm If you have some helpful instructions for removal of this nut, I would appreciate that too. Thanks, T
  18. Thanks Holyman! I really appreciate your kind service. I look forward to installing it on my bike. Thanks again, T
  19. Guys I need your help (Sorry bout the book as always) I am trying to split my cases to check out all of my internals after a main bearing "grenadation" I have been following the clymers in order to take split the case. I am currently working on the clutch removal. - I took out all of the plates, springs, etc. - I couldn't get the ball and pushrod out...is there a secret? It is inside where i can't grab it...if there is a secret, please let lil' ol' me know:) Do I need this out before attempting to remove the nut? - Now I am trying to remove the basket...There is the large nut to remove. The clymers shows using some special tool to hold onto the basket while trying to remove the nut...well I don't have the tool. I read somewhere that I can use an impact wrench. I borrowed my brothers small pancake cylinder and have the impact wrench...no luck...it still wants to spin the entire basket instead of removing the nut. I don't have anything in gear...I don't know if that is necessary or not...but I don't. (BTW, I do have the lock washer "unbent") The air compressor doesn't hold much air, so it does run out of air fairly quickly (as well as the pressure drops), but it was impacting the nut. I sprayed some anti-seize liquid on it...but it doesn't look like it is seized. This is my big hold up right now, so any help would be greatly and I do mean greatly appreciated.
  20. Thanks guys! I will check into this a bit more. T
  21. Speaking of strokers... What are the benefits (besides fast) Are they reliable? Costs/Manufacturs? Fuel requirements? What are the downsides? Etc, Etc, Etc. As always BHQ Rocks! T
  22. I posted some information about some problems that I had with my bike.... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...15entry142613 Well I got the top end appart...right side piston (side that was smoking) is toast! It is majorly pitted...even the coolhead dome is toast Now I took the piston off, ring looks like it is damaged now, but doesn't look like it was the main culprit. Last night I took off the clutch cover gasket and I am 'bout to split the cases. Inside the clutch cover, there are ton's of metal flakes/debris. When I look at where the cam sticks out of the right side case, I can see that there is metal chewed up behind there...looks like it may be a bearing because of the little springs that I can see just sitting in there. Major Bummer! Well I am gonna be working on splitting the cases in the next couple days. I have been bagging all the parts with labels so I don't get too lost when I reassemble the stuff. I removed the clutch pressure plates, but now I have to get that nut off. I have the propper socket, but what is the best trick to get the nut off...the basket just wants to spin:) Somebody told me to use a impact wrench...do you see any problems with this? Then looking ahead, what do you guys use to put it back on? I will keep you informed of what I find T
  23. Dextreme, Thanks for the advice. One last question (I think )...if I start with a 4degree advance, how will I know if I need to decrease/increase the advance? OK...one more question....are there any downsides to doing this modification? Thanks, T
  24. Holyman, I just sent you an email. Thanks, T
  25. Guys, Please excuse my ignorance...but I am trying to understand what you are looking at with the crank... I haven't had my crank out yet...gonna be taking it out soon. I was just hoping that maybe somebody could put some arrows on mcaf29's picture posted here so that I can see what he is talking about. Thanks, Your help is appreciated! T
