  1. Will be there this sunday--black and red shee--Only time I really get a chance to ride is when the weathers like shit outside but it should be nice this weekend(above freezing). Haven't rode since April at silver lake. Some fresh gas a new shift shaft seal and I'm ready. I ride mostly the woods and will be with a buddy w/750 suzuki king quad 4x4.
  2. Last blast--I have only been there 3 times in the last 2 years and theres been a couple of inches of snow(awesome time)everytime--I wish I could make it but I may be helping my buddies close down trailer in silver lake or working. Get some pics--have fun
  3. I have been there 4 times over the last 8 years and highly recommend it--great trails/hills. Wish it wasn't 7 hour drive for me. I have never heard anything bad about the place. If the quad dies go fishing with a guide(capt Kirk) on kentucky lake. The orv area has marked trails and tons of side trails that go anywhere through the woods. Anything from mild to wild.
  4. Nice to see a bunch of banshees out there for a change. Saturday was perfect-ran over 6 gallons of fuel through the bike-so much for my 4 day weekend--watched rain showers most of the day on sunday (should of brought knobbies and went trail riding in the woods) and drove 4 hours home in it today-- Quick question- I was running haulers I bought used and noticed that they are not even with the paddle on the other side anymore--is it possible the rim spun a little and not the paddle. Never had it happen to my v blades before. Seemed like the bike would lunge to the side when launching later in the day. Just thought I throw that out there.
  5. Me and my buddy will be staying in hart (10 miles away) where we keep our camper set up all season. It a older crowd and not a party campground I have no choice because our grampa who owns the trailer likes it there. See you guys at the dunes--should be a good crowd with the weather. Hope the shee runs good.
  6. I not one for changes but I like what you guys have done. Good work!!
  7. Looking forward to the weekend. Will be there for sure. Black/red shee
  8. Checked my gearing--I have 14/42 so I think I should be alright for now. Its been a couple years since I replaced/switched sprockets. I just hope I can start in second like I used to and not bog at the start with this setup. I will just have to wait and see next month.
  9. Turkey bay was on trucks today on spike tv at 11:00--they tested a jeep there--
  10. I used to run 15/41 but tried some 10 paddle haulers 3 years ago which trashed my rear sprocket in one day and was not getting the spin off the line I was looking for--I only used the 10 paddles for one weekend. So I changed the rear up one to compensate that weekend and its been on there ever since. I will double check the size of both gears this weekend.
  11. I had 20 inch sand skate II's and a buddy's buddy ruined them--I just picked up a pair of 22" ITP sand stars cheap. I used to start in 2nd gear draggin w/no problem and am curious if I should gear down for these bigger tires. I have 15/42 gearing and ran it no problem. Curious if anyone did such a switch on a modded stock bike and how bad did the switch bog you down at the start. I was thinking of going to a 14 tooth or raising the rear a size or two. Going to the dunes next month and hope to not be changing sprockets in the parking lot. thanks for anyones input..
  12. Look up Turkey Bay ORV on Kentucky Lake--Its 2500 acres I believe--lots and lots of trails and not a ton of people--I believe you can camp there at the park but there are alot of resorts along the lake. Do a search for Land Between the Lakes--I've been there 4 times and highly recommend it.
  13. I took off work already and should be there --black/red shee.
  14. I need tires/rims--I dont have any extra rims.---thanks
  15. Thanks but no thanks--I had sand skate II for 6 years until a buddy needed them for a buddy and decided to get drunk and ride around town and in cornfields--tore them to shit. I've rode a shee with geckos and didn't care for them. The only other vblades I would consider is ITP sand stars- the blade height is about the same. thanks again
  16. Looking for a set of rear sand skate II's on rims. Let me know if you got any or if you know of where's a good place to get a new set. Thanks
  17. I plan on going april 17th -20th and maybe one other time before summer--too hard to get off work in summer.
  18. anyone have some with rims they want to get rid of or does anyone know where to buy some at a decent price--rocky mountain doesn't carry them anymore.--thanks
  19. I'm in the joliet area--my in laws own a small commercial HVAC company and I still wont do HVAC--Just when I took my new job 6 years ago I was contacted by Johnson Controls(old girlfriend had a relative connection) I already had a nice salary job and a van loan(if I quit in the first two years I took the van and payments) so I had to stay with what I had and dont regret it one bit. Ohh- i'm not a fan of going on roofs--dont care for ladders.
  20. Went to school for HVAC-did that for one year-didn't care for it--- Now I've been working on outdoor spas/hot tubs for 6 years and enjoy my job.
  21. Buddies mom got put in the hospital 2 nights ago  and did not make it--how much snow is there if anyone went---bought a sled this week and did do a night ride last night on the local trail and put 100+miles on the sled so at least I came home smelling like 2-stroke!!
  22. Yeah I hear ya--its gonna be crazy cold in the middle of the week and hopefully warm up a little for the weekend--its nice riding this time of year and not bringing home 50lbs of mud.
  23. Going to the badlands on Sunday 1-18-09--I need to get out of town and love riding there in the winter--will be in a white ford w/enclosed trailer. Hopefully its not to cold.
  24. Looking for some Sand Skate II's in good condition on rims for a banshee.--thanks
