pro-tapers or similar taperwall handlebar is all I will ever use on any bike i will own. they rock, nice, simple and sturdy.
-
I also tought you where putting it in a banshee frame. But that thing is just amazing. She should be a handfull to ride for sure. Will probably lay a beating on a lot of unsuspecting poeple!!

there Vito's superstock pistons, there made for stock stroke, stock porting engines. the intake windows and top cutaways are meant to mimic porting by changing port timings. I dont know if they work well but vitos claim 8hp gain across the board. I don't beleive it will give that much gain but probly help a bit i guess. here a review I found on them. http://www.atvsource.com/articles/product_...ock_pistons.htm

So you can't jet your own bike but you can build pistons for any bike ever built?? interesting.

How Bad is a raptor on Gas compared to a Banshee
spike replied to swhitey917's topic in General Banshee Discussion
tell him to get it and enjoy it, they are all around trail bike and its the exact riding style yamaha build them to do. there's better stuff out there but there is also a lot worse. -
Like you said poeple will always disagree about it but i've ran it strait for years and never had any problem at all. It does leave a little amount of deposits on the plug, I assume its lead because of the real high lead content. nothing to hurt anything as long as you switch your plug a couple time a years. never fouled a plug on it though... I've seen a lot of disagreement about its octane rating also. but if you get your motor built to run on 100 octane you willl be fine. I run 170 psi comp and +8 timing advance. never had any kind of preignition.

I have a complete stock front brake setup, lever, master cyl, all lines two small clips and caliper. everything is used but in good working order. all pads still have a good season left on them. I dont have any pics at the moment but if you're interested I can snap a couple. I'd like 50$ out of them

I'd say since you're sitting at home with nothing better to to, go get yourself the A Graham Bell 2 stroke tuning book, read it over twice and go for it according to what you learned. the book should be about 15$ Good luck for your project and professional life!

Yeah some 80's do have PV, not the yz though, and 2 stroke dirt bike didnt get any new technologies engine wise in a whole lotta year either. I also think that a well ported 4 mil banshee is not a 20 years old motor either, CC for CC they make as much power as modern two stroke IE 700 sleds are rated at about 130 hp give ot take a little, Its not that far fetched to have a ported stock stroke making 65. With that said I could be very wrong on this carb size discussion as my experience with low-end motor is very limited due to the fact that there not my style but I still think that any stroker need more breathing room than a 28mm carb to get its full potential.
-
I think all FMF pipes sounds like Castrated weasel.
-
You're right most of the time, but IMO if you go stroker you need more than tiny little 28mm carbs to feed it properly. just to compare. my girl's YZ 85, comes with a pwk 28 from the factory, and its not hurt on low-end, 125cc MX bikes get 38mm... and they still have decent lowend. With that in mind, 33mm carb on a 180 ishh CC Banshee stroker cyl is far from overkill. But then again I also think that my 4 mil dune port with shearer's and 33 pwk is the best trail motor i've ever had. its all about timing and compression. . I guess it also depends on what types of trail you're refering to, for me trails are abandoned railroad beds and logging/fireroads.
-
I'd go with a 4 mil, strong mx port, 19CC domes, +8 timing, reed upgrade, twin 33 pwk and PC or PTR mids pipe. That should give you a pretty nice hardcore low mid motor. Of course with that receipe you'll need race fuel. if you want to keep it on pump gas get 21cc and back off the timing a little.

PM sent on these!!

problem with steering colum handle bar hook up
spike replied to lostctrider's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
there's a nut on the bottom. if its not there stop riding!! -
check these out. what you think seems like a good product and the price is good! custom brakes lines with your length and fittings. wonder if there good quality?
-
was there a cross bar on them?? I wouldnt trust a 7/8 handlebar with no crossbar. and the clamp area is knurled, Pro taper and most decent bar companies wont Knurl the clamp area cause they say it creates a weak spot... I guess their kinda right :ermm: like hillclimbr said sue them fuckers!!

Its cast aluminum... and im pretty sure the sleeve would be steel as cast iron would be somewhat porous which is not really what you want in a sleeve application. could be wrong tho.

Silver solder is probably what your going to need, not electrical grade lead solder. They use silver solder for jewelery and shit. You need a oxy-acetylene torch to use the stuff as well as I dont think a regular propane rig will melt it.

I'd like to see some pics of your stud patterns.....
spike replied to 25THZ28's topic in Flat Track/TT
this is what you need to be in front. shen shing 826 and screw with this pattern check out this thread for everything else you need to know on ice racing http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=108436 -
I bought brake lines from him early Jan and never seen them to this day. Didn't really pushed it at first becaus it was just a 30 dollar deal and he had a good rep + I was away from town so i didnt miss it... anyway long story short he told me the same thing about a lost tracking number, then ignored 2 pm's 3rd one I told him I was going to put it into paypals hand. he answered that one alright and told me he would give me my money back. That was on march 4th now he's playing the ignoring game again. :ermm:

nice piece man! I've tryed a lot of helmet and the Fox V3 are the way to fly! Most confortable helmet on the face off the world and they will keep you alive where other cheaper ones won't. I have a Oneal 9 series that will get replaced real soon by a V3. the oneal is a good top of the line one but it dosn't fit nearley as good as a FOX. thats because you never tryed one off these babies on... There is no way in hell you will ever catch me paying less than that for a shit helmet, my head is worth 400$ IMO I hope your joking :ermm:

I have 33 pwk on mine and it runs nice and crisp from the bottom up, but its not a drag bike and for from setuped like one. if you plan on doing a full drag bike i'd go at least 35 and i can probbly handle more. just call jim and ask. It's not is first Rodeo!

gauge interest for duneable and lock up
spike replied to yamaha11's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
What would a transmission like that think of a 5-4 WOT downshift? you think it would take it or explode? if it would take it allright i would be interested. how much if i trade it with a stock transmission in good shape and rz drum? -
I'd use solid aluminum as well myself. 7075 or 2024 Square stock the same width as the shock mounts. I would also try to find or make bushings for them.
