  1. I want to get the awesome chrome shine out of my pipes. I have stuff melted to them because of my riding pants. Is there some sort of small buffer...not the size you would use on your cars? I have some mother's aluminum polish and it says not to use it on chrome, have any of you tried it and have sen what it does? Thanks for the help
  2. will the paint chip if you were to paint it instead of powdercoating.
  3. I need to get a stock replacement light bulb for my 1996 banshee. I can't find the right bulb at my auto parts store. Do you guys have any you can get rid of?
  4. The other day I was oustide doing some polishing of my baby. I realized that my clutch lever (stock) seemed to be bent. So I started bending it back. I now have the lever in the position that seems to have an easier pull to it, and it looks better. My question is should i be worried if i bend it too far? what are your recommendations on this? I just installed a new clutch and I don't want to toast it and have to buy another one. thanks
  5. ok...does anyone just have knobbies? Anything like holeshots, the dunlops that come w/ the craptor, 400ex, or yfz 450?

  8. I currently have Gold Aluminum Rims that came with my '96 Banshee. I want the silver aluminum rims. Is there any way i can reverse the anodizing or do i need to buy new rims?
  9. I am looking for new rear tires for my banshee. I wouldnt mind gettin the silver lookin rims. The rims have to be in good shape tho. Let me know what you guys want to sell em for. If anyone wants a set of gold ones let me know if i get some new rims i will be gettin rid of mine.
  10. I have a 96 banshee that I bought with the Outerwears shock cover. I took them off and the paint had rubbed off from the covers. I also noticed that the shock covers don't last a long time before they get holes in them. I want to take the springs off the shocks and get them powdercoated candy red. Can you take the springs off the shocks? Can I use a rattle can on them, or should I just spend the extra $$$ for powdercoating?
  11. I had a problem like that just barely. I checked all my hardware. (Stator, Coil, kill switch.) I figured it would be my CDI so I sent it to Dyntek to get it checked. While it was being inspected, i tore off my whole intake system to the cylinders. After I tore off my carbs I found 4 bare wires with no insulation on them whatsoever. We taped them back up got my CDI back (it checked to be ok) and it fired up second kick. I don't know if thats the problem, but I would check all your wired to see if any of them could have grounded out which would kill the enigne. Let us know what you find out.
  12. I'm looking for the red radiator shroud off of an '04-'05 banshee. I also want the white gas tank cover. I would prefer to have those in the best shape possible. Thanks again guys
  13. I read in all these articles in dirtwheels etc. about how banshees are soo hard to ride. the thing i dont get is i dont ever ride the clutch. I just let out the clucth and hang on, then shift and go right back into the powerband. Im still new with the banshee, so what do you experienced riders do to get the most speed out of the machine?
  14. k the other night my buddy came over to help me diagnose my problem...I kicked and kicked and kicked and didnt even sound like it wanted to start. Soooo we pulled the plug off the stator, and kicked it over. while i was kicking it over my buddy checked the connections with a light tester, and we got nothing. Tonight i went out and did an experiment....i flipped the lights on and kicked it and the lights lit up real dim. I dont know if that means the stator is ok, or if its something else.
  15. My gas is on reserve, brand new plugs, (they are gapped right) gas is in the tank Just checked spark and got nothin...I just put a new ignition coil on... I have a Dyna FS ignition, do those go bad very often?
  16. I have a '96 banshee, I tried starting it the other day, and it started first kick it ran for a sec then the right cylinder quit firing and then the bike began to die and the engine just killed. So i put it away and tried starting it the other day, it did the same thing...It hasnt started since. I need some help cuz if i dont find out whats wrong soon....Im either goona have to push it off a cliff, or torch it.
  17. I bought my banshee with these flatslide carbs. if i leave my banshee for a while it will leak fuel out of the lower left vent tube. if i turn off the gas im fine. when i start it it will run fine. it will then die. when i do get it running i will fire one cylinder for a minute or two while under wot. after i burn the gas out it runs fine and i dont have a problem. could it be that my float is set too low. i think that my float is allowing the bike to choke but when warm it kills. any other ideas?
  18. i spent 14-16 hours using plastic renew on my uncles atv. they are a pain to do but if you have the patience and time its worth it
  19. I just replaced my clutch yesterday. It works well and everyting, but i had a couple questions. I put in heavy duty springs, are they going to loosen up at all? And is it fairly hard to find neutral on your banshees? I will be at a dead stop in first gear with the clutch pulled in and i will rev it up, the bike will slowly move foreward. The clutch cable is adjusted right, and the clutch mechanism adjustment has been performed.
  20. I need a new ignition coil, but i dont have the $$$$ for a nology coil. I thought about the ricky stator coil...any input would be awesome
  21. i just got done testing my coil...the readings are from 003-004. so I imagine it is shot. Tell me if im right, and if i am is ricky stator a good coil?
  22. where would i be looking for air leaks at? Im thinking it is the ignition coil because i think i may have damaged it when i was last riding. The spark plug wire wanst getting a full connection, so im thinking that the coil wasnt allowed to release all the energy when the cable wasnt hooked up. if any of you have any other ideas let me know. Im getting an ohmeter and a compression tester. I will let you guys kow the #'s when i get done testing them.
  23. Just a couple weeks ago I wrote a post that said I had a problem. I thought it was my ignition coil, but I thought it ended up being the outerwear. WELL...... The bike will fire right up when its cold, but when it gets warm and it idles for the shortest time it will kill and wont start back up for a while. When its running the bike misfires, from 1/2 throttle, all the way up. I checked my plugs, they werent fouled, i checked the reeds on the left cylinder, and they werent cracked or anything. The only thing i can figure it would be is my freakin ignition coil because i pulled one wire all the way out. I may tear into the other cylinder monday to check the reeds, but i dont know if its worth my time. Thanks
  24. I just bought a cascade innovations chain guide, but i have no idea how it goes on. Does that metal piece on the end float on top of the swingarm?
  25. I dont feel so dumb now that I hear that people cant start their shees because they forget to turn on the kill switch
