  1. ok.... I went out and switched the wires and it still did the same thing. I was going to tear into the intake manifold and take out the reeds, but as a last thought I decided to check my air filter. So I removed my outerwear and ran it up the street and it ran perfect. So to make sure i wasnt imagining things i checked it again with the outerwear on and it misfired (or sounded like it) so I will be getting a new outerwear because my old one is worn out. I hope you guys dont cast me out of the banshee hq for overlooking such a stupid thing like an air filter.
  2. Is the bike going to run ok with the plugs switched around?

    Oil

I am currently running Yamalube 2R. And I was advised to run a synthetic oil, i thought about running klotz. If i do is this the best oil for it? and what ratio should i mix it at?
  4. I have a 96 banshee, and i just made a trip to the st. anthony dunes. Anyways here is my problem: My banshee fires up on the first kick, and it idles perfectly. but on the very top end the left cylinder seems to misfire. So i went and checked my plugs, the were both fine. so then i put the spark plug wire back on and i pulled it right out of the ignition coil. I put it back in and it idles fine, but it still misfires. could it be that my coil is shot? and are the spark plug wires made to come out?
  5. I am looking for a set of 4 yamaha rims for my banshee. I want the white aluminum rims. It would be nice to have them in fairly good shape. If you have a set for sale please let me know.
  6. well i went out and rode it. I found out that if i let it wind out just a little longer it doesnt do that anymore, so im not worried about it anymore. thanks
  7. well, maybe its just me, and im dreaming up crap. maybe its fine and i dont know it because i was used to my 400ex.
  8. I refered to my clymers manual, and it said to run what i had in it. Would gear oil be making that big of a difference?
  9. THe bike runs like a champ, i dont think it is the engine, when its in the powerband the thing screams. The only way i can explain my problem is to say that in 5-6 gear, it seems like the clutch is slow to engage fully. but when it engages the bike pulls strong.
  10. Sand Mountain in utah is a fun place to ride. There is always someone there willing to race...I'd always lose on my 400ex, but now that I have a banshee i cant wait to take it there. I may be going on July 2nd.
  11. Ok, I got my clymers.... I was reading it last night and it said it could be something such as having a too viscous oil. I am running 10w-50 yamalube. Could this be my problem?
  12. I just went out and rode it... It bogged down in second and it did in third. I was on asphalt when i did it. Is this pushrod/ball assembly located on the top of the crankcase? And is it connected to the cluctch cable? How would I adjust it? Thanks
  13. the clutch will only slip right after it is let out. but if i put it into a high gear and let it rev up to the powerband it works fine. could it be that i just need stiffer clutch springs?
  14. what will stiffer clutch springs do?
  15. will there be shavings in the crankcase oil? I changed the oil yesterday and i looked thru it and i saw no contaminents in it.
  16. I just bought my first banshee last saturday. I went out and ran it today to see what it had. It screams! I have a question about it tho. I'm not to familiar with banshees so here I go... In 1st -4th gear it runs fine, but in 5th-6th gear it seems like after I let out the clutch, it slips for a second, and then the revs drop down. Is this normal? Any help would be awesome.
