  1. Thanks, I like NY. It is very pretty out here. Every state has their sucky laws and rules and ways they do things but all in all Ny is cool. If my relatives were within a few hours we would definitely stay, but damn they are 14 hours away. The first thing my boss said to me when I told him was "Karlovic,, you are fuckin me". He is a cool guy, and probably one of the coolest bosses you can have and still keep you in line.Of course I will still be on the HQ.
  2. Stuff, no I dont work at the Ginna plant, I actuall work at a bunch of different plants. The company I work for, gets contracted to the various power plants. At each plant we do a variety of robotic inspections, from the Reactor Head, to the Steam generators to the Spent Fuel pool. Its a great job, get to travel, and spend a lot of the companys money. Thanks guys Broke: How is working for that side of the power plants? Are you a lineman or do you do admin crap? Pay well?
  3. I have done similar crap, as I was reading your story, I was like "its the battery man", but you couldnt hear me. So I kept reading. Boy, I would kick my own ass if I did that. Did you take the starter back? I would
  4. I will be moving back to the northern part. I will probably look around Oregon, Dixon, Byron. If you hear of anything let me know. I figure I will rent for a year, then buy a house with some land somewhere. Thanks Holyman
  5. Well I am origionally from IL. some of you BHQ members that have been around for awhile may remember me talking about moving to NY because of the great new job I got, working in the Nuclear power industry. Well I have worked for this company for 2 years now. Well, the wife and kids want or need to move back to IL so that they can spend more time with the family (Gparents, cousins, aunts uncles etc.) Well I told my boss and he is cool with it. So I am moving back in June. This is my new deal: I will live in IL with my family, I will now be contracted to my company for around 40$ per hour. When I am contracted I will be working a lot of OT. So I am looking at around3-4,000$ per week. Isnt that nice. I will be traveling about 5-6 months out of the year. So you do the math. I figure I will bring home around 70-80 Grand a year. Now I do have to get my own Health Ins (around 500$ per month) And Life ins etc. But I think it will work out well. . We shall see, and I will keep you updated. If any one wants to move to NY (williamson, Ny is about20 minutes east of Rochester) I may be able to hook you up with a job paying about14-15$ per hour. But you cant do drugs, the Nuke plants test for that crap. Also You need to have some electrical or mechanical background and willing to travel. Also you will need to pass a 5 year background check (no felonies) or child molestation crap. Send me an email if your interested.
  6. Well, I now live in NY, but soon to move back to IL (my home state). Anyway, In IL there are no ATV registrations in exhistance, nor are there any trails, nor are there any insurance laws. But Fortunately I know people that have land, and I can ride it, also the people I know's land is connected so I can ride on about 250 acres of property (NICE) but after you have riddedn all of it 100 times or so, you do get boared of it. So you need to take the banshee to ATV parks (such as the Attica, IN badlands. I think the NY laws are gay, I am "supposed" to register it to ride on private property,, whatever, i did register it because I was planning on riding across the roads etc (which is why I think that NY has the Ins law), because you are allowed to cross a road with a registered and insured ATV. But with all of that money we should get some kind of benefit with that money they get. Whatever, this whole thing makes me sick... From now on I am not registering my atv anywhere.
  7. I dont think adding weight will help you much, I weigh 230 and I have the same problem with sliding all over. Like the others have said, the rpms are too high for the slippery crap. Besides the banshee has too low of a ground clearance to do well in the snow.
  8. Well to this day I have never driven a dirt bike, but I changed to a twist when I broke my thumb throttle in a little flip. I have gotten used to the twist and like it a lot. It does take some getting used to, and there are certain instances where a thumb throttle may be more adventageous, but IMO the twist is the way to go.
  9. Well, that looks like a very big banshee, maybe a mouse could ride it.
  10. Why wouldnt you clean them in gasoline?
  11. May I add an opinion? I understand what I have read from everyones posts. But What about centrifugal force and all of the laws of physics and crap in the transmission and the rest of the vehicle? Here is my point/ thought: When you downshift the trans (in any combustion vehicle), the engine is force to turn faster as long as the clutch is engaged. (this is also saying you are not accelerating) Now that the engine is turning faster, natural laws of physics will cause the engine to eventually slow down, even if you are headed down hill (maybe not a 90 deg incline . But with all of the resistance in the mechanical parts of the vehicle from the clutch to the compression of the pistons, to the axle bearings you are gathering resistance, therefore slowing down the vehicle. eventually. I have driven diesel vehicles and have used the "retarder", I couldnt say how it works but I was under the impression that it used the exhaust gasses in some way to help slow the engine. Either way it makes a nice noise to blast at people working under a bridge :<. So Basically my opinion is that the engine compression (Without fuel), transmission and the resistance of wheels and terrain etc are what slows the vehicle down (besides brakes of course).
  12. In response to THX's question: yes, it does get bigger. In fact I am having a "hard" time keeping it concealed.
  13. Work in the Nuke buisiness. I Build, repair, operate small robots used to inspect the reactor of the Nuke plants. Travel a lot, wish I could take the banshee with. Have sex with my hand for a living while im on the road.
  14. Dude, Im sorry things got that f'd up for your mom. But she must have been cutting it close also for that one rubber check to f'k up her world that bad. If I have learned anything, it is you cant depend on other peoples money untill it turns into cash. I wouldnt let anything in my bank ride on another persons check to clear. Howmuch did you charge him for those arms? shitty of him to do that crap.
  15. Ya gotta be patient man, I know this crap sucks at times but, just work through it.. Does it do that for all of your video files? or just this one particular video? If it is just this one I would drop it,, if it is for all of them I would completely uninstall WMP and reinstall the newest version. Then go and update if necessary. Its funny because I can play a certain video on my laptop, but my buddies at work cant play it on theirs, I must have some special powers or something. Just make sure all of your software is updated, including all of the bugg fixes from Microflacid.
  16. Well, Ilike looking at mine too, but someone here reminded me of what my girlfriend (now my wife) and I had done on my big bear. We went into the woods behind my parents house to do a little one on one. Well I took her to this sweet spot in the woods. We did the funky monkey on the Big Bear. We rode back to my moms (the actual process took about 10 minutes, from riding out to return home). We got back and my mom asked if we had seen the hunters in the trees out there. (I had forgot it was deer season). Turns out there was a hunter in a tree within eyesite from where we closed escrow (if you get what I mean). The funny part was the look on her face when she heard that.
  17. I just checked out that dumb ass site. I even sent the dude an email on how dumb he is. Is that ninjamasters website? Because that guy is a moron just like him. Actually I feel dumber by reading that crap.
  18. Seneca Falls (an hour West of Syracuse) (seneca county)
  19. Nice Bench, Good thing you arent planning on moving it any time soon. That must weigh a ton. I bet it would last through a Nuclear War. I, myself, am planning on making a bench, but for wood working. I hope to acquire a nice 2" butcher block top. McMaster carr has exactly what I need but i dont want to spend 200 bones on it. So I may be able to steal one from work.
  20. First off, Why do I have to scroll left and right on this post? Is it because of the images? That is annoying. Second, If the dealer is willing to trade that nice banshee for those 400 ex's they have to be planning on making a good buck off of you banshee. I wouldnt do it. I would sell your banshee outright and take that money and go buy whatever you want.
  21. First of all,, All home systems are 8 ohm speakers and amps etc.. Car systems are 4 ohms. If you dont match the impedance (ohms) the system will sound crappy and you would blow your new speakers. Look on the magnet part of the speaker , if it is for a car it should say 4 ohms. if it is for a house it should say 8 ohms. I am not sure about competition series sytems for cars but i would bet they are still 4 ohms. BTW: a crossover, splits the different tones. You would hook up tweeters to the high range, Mids to the mid range, and Subs to the low range. This device puts the appropriate tone to the correct speaker (assuming you have it hooked up correctly). if these new speakers you have are subs then you will definitely need a crossover to make sure that the low tones are the only ones going to these speakers. Otherwise they will sound like crap. Even a cheap pair of 6X9's will sound good if they are hooked up properly to a crossover. Also you will need an amp to run from the crossover to the big speakers. If you dont know that much about audio systems, I suggest you have it installed. This will ensure that you system will be the best it can be. And then you wont damage it.
  22. I am assuming you would buy a digital video camera. If you want to stay relatively cheap, you would want to buy one that would record on a mini dv cassette tape. I have one and its great. But to edit it and do all the stuff to have scene transitions and titles and crap, you will need to install the software and maybe hardware on your computer. When I got mine it came with no software for the computer. I think they all come with it now. I like the Pinnacle brand video editing software. I believe it is "Pinnacle Studio". The thing is you need to have a computer with enough RAM and HD space to handle the file sizes (my computer eats up about 10 gigs for an hour of video. Once you edit it, you will then compress it to whatever format you want (MP3, MP4, SVCD, etc.) When its compressed (depending on how you do it) the hour video will compress down to 200MB or so. But if you need to buy the software/hardware kit: I paid about 130$ for it, and I love it. I have used ULEAD software and am not impressed with it. My company does use it, but I think that it is not very user friendly. Good luck
