  1. Send it to a builder. A site sponsor.....

if you insist on building it yourself, talk to a builder, send them you jugs for over bore/port work, buy a cool head (whatever you want to call it) and the 4mm crank. get domes cut by said builder to match pistons/stroke. Follow builder recommendations on carbs/jetting/exhaust...... assemble it, break it in and ride the wheels off of it.

Where did you hook the comealong to.

    on the frame or truck?

on the Banshee frame I looped a tow strap on the top of the hoop, On the truck I hooked it to the pintle hook in the receiver hitch.

Hooking it to the tree I used two straps basket weaved through the middle of the frame attached to a short tow chain wrapped aroung the trunk of the tree.

    I should have taken pictures.....

  4. the steering hoop is bent back, muscle lots of it to get it close to right. (I hooked my bike up to a tree and used a come along hooked to my truck to pull that hoop up close to straight.)

you can buy a taller stem, buy bars that have a taller handle position or get some bar risers.  But keep in my you might need longer cables and/or front brake hose with that mod....

  5. Heh, wind your own

http://firearmsdesigner.com/making-wire-springs-part-1-compression-springs/ for heavier springs you need a feed block and a jig for the chuck.... Made many a spring...

then a precision grinder to cut them to length...

I have one very similar to this, only MUCH older in my barn...

Making shit is cool, but to get there you have to spend a shit load on tooling and machinery....

FUCK doing this for a living....

I have found that if you have Cascade cans, they don't pull out their Db meter, and let you ride off into the sunset. May be that they are made in OR, they are quieter though. My 595 CPI bike blows 99 on my cheap meter, I think 92 db is their limit in the OR regulations.

SAE specs state under power WOT at a predetermined distance from the meter Mic..... how do the LEO's justify the ticket if they don't test accurately?

Got out of a sound ticket at glamis because of this...... Preponderance of evidence...... Sherriff couldn't prove I was too loud when he did not test it "correctly"

104db with FMF's..... packed my silencers after that trip though....

  7. Google reviews, craigslist where they are at, BBB, and call them every day... If you know anyone where they are do a small claims court case by proxy....

be a PAIN in their asses until they make it right.

I had to do this with USAA when they tried to total my truck..... 15 months later I got it fixed and pocketed a large bit of money for my troubles.
