I agree...Mike. I think in time the super's might be a great idea...time being, though...dollar per dollar, non-super would be my way out!

A 4 mil 68mm bore cub is a drop in, no machining required. I don't know if the cases have to be bored for the 72 cub. Mike... Are those HP and torque numbers for the super out of the box (in other words, a casting/clean up port) or with more extensive porting done? I thought they were only 2HP better out of the box....I could be wrong...

Aftermarket clutch baskets/hubs and pressure plates
dajogejr replied to Alex!'s topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ditto...for around 200 bucks, you can get a Magnum basket, OEM inner and outer. All I did was beat on my cub all last year, drag race, etc. Not a groove on it, looked (still looks) great!!! -
Simple... My Dyna Costs almost 300 bucks. My Nology was half that. So....if something is gonna fry, I'd rather have it be the cheaper.... However, once I get a cable and CD to program my dyna, not only will I be programming my own curves on a dyno, I'll also be playing with different plugs, gaps, etc...too.

Correction...Matt Shearer IS the creator of the Shearer pipe, when he worked WITH RDZ.... RDZ builds fast bikes, but I personally feel they are little pricey, that's all

You're opening a can of worms... For the money, you're better off with a 68mm bore and 4 mil stroke. The 72's very possibly have the potential, but....are more money than the 68, and most builders at this moment are pretty much seeing the same numbers after a lot of porting on them that a standard cub puts out from the box. 72's are considered super cub, 68's are just big bore cub...and you'll have to buy a new head for the 72's, you can have your stocker cut to work on the 68... majicmike as done some work on them...see what he says. I won't get one, personally....

Dyna RECOMMENDS you run a resistor. Nology recommends you don't with their hotwires. I've read several cases of people that have BOTH and have run either, R's or not. I personally run BR8ES, and will switch to 9's on alky...

extended swingarm chain length
dajogejr replied to bluev8s10blazer's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Call Jeff @ FAST. I bought one from him for my 6 over, and he sells it by the foot. I think he sold me about 6 or 8 links too many, but...I'd rather cut a few off than run two masters... Sorry, can't remember just how many links it was... -
Let me put it this way, if I already had Fatties, I wouldn't spend a dime to get T5s...and I love T5 pipes. I'd bet you'd probably have to lean the pilot/air screw a hair, fatties have been known to like a lot of fuel down low... Other than that...similar pipes...little more bottom on the fatty, little more top on the T5.

might want to post this over in the Good Buyer/Seller feedback area then, Stu....more exposure!

400ex thumb or cacade extened thumb throttle
dajogejr replied to halfrack's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I bought one, used it once...didn't care for it. I sold it to ToomeyBanshee. PM him, see how he likes it ( I think Bob said it would be for his son's quad...) -
You guys all know I'm friends with Jeff at FAST....so, take that as you may. However....I've personally ridden a bike dune ported by him and it sure was fun. (The young man had a Hush kit on it though, kinda ruined it for me...LOL ) For those of you that don't know, machwon is his handle here on HQ. I've talked to Bob a few times back and forth on PM. He actually bought my stock virgin bore cylinders and crank last year, quick payment, I sent him my crank based on trust (told him to look it over, if he didn't want it, send it back) and he PROMPTLY paid me for the crank the day he received it and looked it over. I've been working with Jeff since early last year, I am 100% contempt with him and his service... That being said...if I was looking again for a builder/supplier, I would give Bob @ R&B a shot. Nice guy, local to mid-Michigan area...and just a real nice guy overall with good pricing. Some of you may remember seeing some posts or replies by me, Bob has an inexpensive leak down test kit he sells on ebay and probably will through these forums if you call him. You could probably save 10 or 20 bucks building your own...but, you'd have to drive around, hunt down parts, put it together, etc. So...for convenience....he has a leak down test kit available that is hard to beat.... I give him the big ol   myself....

I will leave the idle turned down on my 10 mil, but...if you beat me JT, I'm turning it back up....just for you...LOL

Banchetta has been a well missed resource around here for a long time. I woke up one day and they had just about every thread in the Jetting and Exhaust forum answered, I nearly shit meself. I thought someone had hacked the account....LOL. As I said in my PM....welcome back stranger, good to have you 'round...again.

I will take you up on that, and offer in return Office 2007 if you don't already have it. I was looking on new egg today. 163.99 for a mobo and X2 processor (cheap, more than I need anywho) 212 for 2GB of Corsair DDR2, 40 dollar rebate. 119 for a PCI Express X16 card. I can reuse all the rest of my stuff. I was in a jam the other day, and had to go to...EEK...Best Buy to get a client a Power Supply, ordering online wasn't an option, closest place to me. Yeah, saw an 800W and 1000W PSU. I nearly shit myself. I remember when if you had a 150W PSU, you were king shit. Then again, if you had a 14,400 dial up modem, you were smoking through the INternet....oh, the good old days....LOL.

WOW...we go from pissing all over each other in one post.... to me agreeing with you 100% on this post.

A Arm Complete Roller Minus Shocks
dajogejr replied to dajogejr's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Count on it Rod, I'm hoping to have my 10 mil done by end of this month, 1st week or so of March. All coming together nicely. JT and brother were over last night, I TRIED to fix his dinosaur computer...LOL. Him and brother liked my shiny chromoly JArms for my new bike!!! However...I probably won't go opening weekend of Silver Lake, a HUGE group of us are supposed to go 3rd or last weekend of April. Plus, I'm really trying to finance the Little Sahara HQ trip end of March, too!!! Silver Lake is not for me opening weekend....too many buddies went off the other side of a dune and landed in snow...and wadded ass!! -
Mike is a straight up guy and good to deal with...helluva good deal. As said, those cylinders aren't even broken in....

True enough.... I'm only saying because my PC is on the verge of 4 years old, similar platform (Asus A7N8X deluxe was the cadillace when I bought it, and if you're into overclocking, the barton 2500 was a great little chip on air from 2500 to 3200 no problems.) I believe I built mine in March of 2003... I don't use the PC power I have either...to be 100% honest. but, PC parts are tax write offs for me, just like my quad! I keep thinking about a 64 bit dual core AMD setup, but why spend 500 or 800 bucks for a new board, memory, vid card, etc., when the PC I have does everything I need to do and then some. I finally replaced my PSU late last year, my little 350W took a dump, luckily didn't take anything with it. I keep fighting the itch...and it boils down to I'd rather put 100 into my banshee than into my computer...know what I mean? I'd like to get my hands on Vista to become familiar with it...but I'm not chomping at the bit by any means!!!
-
Yeah, sure are. It's amazing how fast you can load windows and programs with them. I got one of the first generation 36GB drives, paid over 200 for it. Now you can probably get two of them for that much through newegg.com....

A Arm Complete Roller Minus Shocks
dajogejr replied to dajogejr's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Well boys and girls, due to unfortunate circumstances, my rolling chassis is up for sale again. The buyer had to back out for personal reasons. Again, here's what's for sale, and I'm throwing in 4 tires, Holeshot XCRs for it as well. Fronts have over 90% tread, rears over 85%. Hold air PERFECTLY. You can have your choice of a +6 or stock length swinger, here's the rest. A Arms, newer bushings year old bearings and seals in carrier Will include 6 over stainless rear brake line too. Durablue HD Axle, 0 to +4 with spacers, etc. Rear Hubs Front spindles/hubs and brakes. Steering Stem with tie rods and tie rod ends. Again, straight, NO bends, clean and clear MI title. Sombody needs this one, my new drag frame is at the powder coaters. Make me an offer, perfer local pickup or will drive a reasonable distance. -
Sorry...washburn. As soon as a builder told me I didn't need to have a crank welded unless I jump the bike alot would've left me in tears laughing right then and there...

That processor and video card sure weren't....2 years ago anyways. I have the Barton core 2500 XP (Overclocked to 3200 XP for almost 4 years now) and a Radeon 9800 Pro All In Wonder, and my shit wasn't even top dog 3 or 4 years ago.... I got out of that fastest processor, best video card game a long time ago. As fast as ATV shit goes out of date, etc., it pales in comparison to how fast stuff is not the fastest anymore in the PC world. I've been contemplating a dual core AMD 64 bit upgrade for a long time. But, my little turd runs everything I throw at it perfectly...and, I'd rather spend that money on my quad hands down. Vista might be fine for home use, but in the corporate environment with a lot of older legacy apps and hardware, the support just isn't there. It's literally a nightmare for those in my biz... The sad part is, try to buy a new computer anywhere with XP. Good luck.... CSR...if you want to see some real speed, and you do a lot of stuff hard drive intensive (video editing/capturing, etc.) get a pair of 10,000 RPM Raptors in a RAID 0 array. Very nice performance. Just make sure you back your stuff up regularly because a RAID 0 array can be flaky, and if it bombs on you, you lose it all...

pipe hitting against fuel (petcock)
dajogejr replied to banshee freak's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
That's crazy!!! Do you have any pictures of this? I've never heard of FMF pipes rubbing or even being close. There are a few inframe drag pipes that are very, very close....but not a trail pipe. Are you sure you mounted them up correctly? -
I'll use mine to start the bike dead cold, maybe leave the choke on for a minute or so at most. Nothing is that hot to burn me by then. Reach under the seat, push the knob down...not that big of a deal. When I choke a dead cold bike, after a few seconds, I still blip the throttle every 4 to 5 seconds slightly to warm it up quicker and clean it out, pretty much as soon as it'll idle without touching the throttle, I'll click 'em off and keep blipping the throttle for another minute or so, depending on how warm it is out. Obviously, in very cold temps...I let mine warm up quite a few more minutes while blipping....until I can feel the top of the head getting warm at least.
