Get a woods or MX port job, raise the compression a little, advance the timing as well. Whole new ball game... Think about a two into one carb, or possibly an upgrade to 28PWKs. You can have your stockers bored to 28, but the PWKs are a much, much nicer design.

Yep...sure did, that's why it was fresh on my mind...

Mark....do you mean in house as in he chromes at his place? The problem with my overdue pipes was his "new" Chromer sat on 20 sets for two weeks, much to Matt's dismay, then he picked them up and sent them back to his original chromer...hmm...
-
I wanted to bump this one up to the top to discuss...rather than beat the dead horses on the Bob's Family raceway post. I'm over that one...and want to look forward... So who all is looking to go...I'm hoping to have a whole new setup done in time for this race....
-
I just waited about 7 or 8 weeks for my pipes, from Matt Shearer himself... Chrome Plater problems.... I can tell you it was worth the wait for the money I spent vs. the quality of the Chrome....but I was a little annoyed at times due to the wait... Good luck is all I can tell ya...

As a long time, die hard Michigan foot ball fan, I'd rather root for them then the Lions any day. However....after losing his last four games, (OSU and USC end of last year)...it's time for Lloyd and his staff to go. You know every year Michigan is gonna be ranked high before the season starts. It is the winningist program in college football....ever. I agree...they're over ranked often in the beginning of the Season. But you also have to look at some of the past products of U of M football. Best quarterback in the NFL (Sorry...Peyton is a helluva QB, he's got more to prove if he wants to be considered better than Brady, IMO) I know Michigan has always been run orientated football. I think in today's era of speedy receivers, etc., they need to work a whole new offense. They need more of a run and gun offense. They have the talent for it...they always do. They just need a fresh coaching staff to take them into a different direction.. Carr has done a ton for the program over the years....but, I think it's time to go. I mean, is he gonna be 80 years old and coaching cause he can't let go like Joe Pa?? If they didn't win a game all year..I'll still watch them and root for them...but I'm very disappointed so far, and I would love to see their backup tear the next few games up, I've always thought Chad Henne is overrated. Hart...on the other hand, is bad ass. I don't think he has the size to make it in the NFL...but, you just never know...

What...no love for Detroit....we're 1-0 dammit...LOL... Oh well...

I also read something, acetone, pure acetone, put in the fuel tank of your car will give you a substantial increase in gas mileage...it gives you a more complete burn, or something like that... It was like 4 ounces per 20 gallons, I think.... Is that what you're thinking of, Brad..? I know Toulene is an ingredient in race fuels, maybe firehead will chime in...

With that short of an arm, you might unload your tires a bit, you'll have to play with bar height I'm sure. But as Roger said...there's plenty of help there. There are a lot of 10 mils at Bobs, normally... I can tell you they normally run longer swingers even with bars, 8 to 14 or so... I'm outta here, the quitting time whistle is blowing. I'm glad this conversation turned around into something positive.... No hard feelings, hope to see you at the track and/or dunes sometime soon.... -
The more E85 becomes available, the more these questions become more and more interesting to me. I've wondered the same thing now for a while. IMO, it's not worth running a car on just yet...it would have to be 33 or 36% cheaper than gas to make it worth while, and around here it's not. It's 10% cheaper, where you can find it. Even the news said...if you're buying E85 to stop "our dependency on foreign oil" then great for you. But if you're doing it to save money/increase millage....bad idea. I'm interested in who has played with E85...good post with good questions....

can you please make at least one WOT run on that 6 over so I can get a video camera ready...it would be entertaining for us.... Sorry...had to. I run a 14 over/14 paddle at the dunes and track and it comes up pretty easy at the dunes. Yeah, with no wheelie bar, 6 over made my 4 mil on gas a handful. It was fun to ride...but, it'll come up on you. The looser/chewed up sand tends to hook much better than the track....in my experience anyways.... -
I guess there are two questions that need to be answered. What type of riding do you do and where? And how deep are your pockets. An alky burning drag bike won't do you much good in the trails, just like a 4X4 utility quad isn't gonna do you much good at the drag strip....

To be honest, at the tracks we go to, usually only a few stock motor bikes. Normally, it's cubs, Cheetahs or twisters here. But...at the dunes and West Michigan Sand Drags on a big weekend/race, you'll see plenty of them. Dan runs a stock cylinder, as does Brent (bigscrewduramax) Neither of their bikes are flat out drag bikes like JT and mine are...yet....LOL. There's always that "yet"..... -

Nice Mike... I've seen plenty OEMs go fast...and he might very well be fast at his track. If he can prove those times at one of the three tracks I run at, I will eat a whole flock of crow and announce it here... So far...I have offered to put some $$ on it, no reply. Brad... Silver Lake is the place then. We'll have to pick a time when the track will be open...hit the track one day, the dunes the next. To be honest, most of us go to the dunes, then sit at the drag strip at the dunes. And...there's not time slips there...LOL. It's big balls, hold it WOT, and hang on. BIG Whoops when the track gets chewed up. It's not even a track...it's a flat area 300 to 500 yards long....and people just keep on going and going at the drop of a flag. best of both worlds for you guys.... -

Well...he came on here, saying he's your buddy and fellow racer... Fair enough. 5.7 in 500ft dirt out of a 10 mil cub on gas is very respectable and believable...we have a few Sand tracks in MI, one of which is PS certified (within 10 minutes of Silver Lake Dunes) One is 2.5 hours north of Detroit (Albright shores) and the other is 2.5 hours west of (Bob's) Shane lives 10 mins from Albright, alcoholbanshee lives 10 minutes from Bob's, and I hate both of them for that... :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: I say fuck the track, you guys head over for a weekend in the dunes. More to do....some fast bikes out there some days, turds the next...tell you what though. If you want to see how your bike stacks up, bring it to the dunes Memorial, 4th of July or Labor Day weekends. That's when you see the shit.... If you guys can't make it to Albrights end of this month, I'm trying to organize a dune trip middle of October. There won't be many people, won't be as busy...and it'll probably only add a few hours to your trip if you were to go to Albright. You maybe interested in that?? -

Maybe that's why Junior seems to do so well against (Big bikes)...I can assure you that isn't the case here... Both of you telling me how bad the track sucks doesn't really inspire me to drive all that way...if ya know what I mean. Brad...maybe I mispoke, maybe you interpreted something wrong...all I'm saying is dirt is dirt, sand is sand....we run 300, you run 500. Until we compare apples to apples, we're pissing in the wind. You're a friend of Shanes....so, I'll leave it at that. He's a good guy, fellow racer...and I have nothing but respect and good things to say for him. However....I think if we could JT, Dan and a few others to go...it might just happen. Gotta e honest though, we're sand kinda guys...LOL.... No problem. Put a lid and leash on Jr., and I'll keep my lid on.... -

Here's your cookie. Bring it... Again...CAN YOU READ? Pull that gearing in the sand...not dirt. In 300 ft, not 500... We have time slips around these parts son, and cry towels for you to go with them. throw some nitro in there, it'll be entertaining to those watching the yard sale... You gonna keep running your mouth, or you gonna throw up some coin? If that bike with the mods you've listed in the past runs those times here, then we have some of the sorriest builders in the country (one of which just happens to be the fastest on the planet, by the way....) Fastest stock cylinder/4 mil to date has been 3.8 or 4.0 on alky with a drag frame, professional rider (Under 130lbs), certified tracks (which...by the way...probably find a way to hand out printed slips as well) If you're so fast...you should mop up at the Planet Sand Drags...I think there might be more than 4 to 8 people in your class...so, I'm not sure you want that much embarrassment. Hell...3.8 and 3.9s...you'll be beating big cub and twister motors making 140 to 160HP....that's impressive.... I will tell you one thing, though...you are special....that's for sure.... You have your own set of Olympics.....as well. -

That was a joke....it's a quarter mile track...sorry... I'm pretty sure if I ran 3.0 on a 1/4 mile, we wouldn't be having this conversation...and there'd be an awful lot of people that would love to talk to me... LOL.... So...you race at a track with no slips but I have to call Uncle Buck to verify your time? I want you to sit back, re-read that...and tell me how much credibility I'd have if I said that to ANYONE reading. Call the track owner, they don't hand out slips, but he'll vouch for me. C'mon guy...your BS run is over...it was entertaining, but it's over. If you still want to continue, name your price...and we'll race. We can hand the cash over to a neutral party at the track...but your BS lifeline just ran out. -

Ha ha ha ha ha....yeah, sure buddy....I'd LOVE to see you try to run that gearing on one of these tracks...or any sand track. You're so full of shit it's not even worth talking about anymore.... It will or it did run that 3.8 or 3.9?? That's what I thought..you're nothing but a keyboard racer...19/41 on a stock cylinder 4 mil, on race gas on sand? Yeah, now I've heard it all. Brad...all this (625s) BS aside.... I'd love to come out and run 500 feet. I'd be a big change going from sand to dirt, just as from dirt to sand. They run about 400 to 500 feet on the ice....looking forward to that this year. I'd like to run 1/8 mile with my buds sooner or later...as well. A long weekend is tough for me, single...and two dogs... I have to make arrangements for my girl or my parents to come down and watch my house to take longer trips...and it's a lot to ask of them, I try not to abuse that. Strokerace down in VA runs 200 ft tracks. I can't imagine a race that short.... We'll all figure it out how to meet up one day, no big deal...we all just have different priorities and schedules... -

Cool... I ran at this track and ran a 3.0 http://www.milandragway.com/ In one of your other posts...you claim to have a 4 mil stock cylinder on gas. If that is the case...I don't give a shit what you do...you're not pulling a 4.2 at Clarksville or Albright shores...unless you've got a BIG bottle or a turbo....even if you weigh 100 lbs. (Which, coincidentally...most grade schoolers do...) You got a video and a time slip? Post that...not a link to a track.... -

Ha ha ha ha... I'm going to assume 625 is Jesse Bunch... And here's the results from this BBDR track he speaks of. Every event they list this year, his class is from 4 to 8 riders each event. http://www.bbdrdirtdrags.com/2007_Race_Results.htm Tell you what...you're gonna have to run faster than 4.49 to even run in our class... I doubt you'll even make that. However, 9 hours of test and tune Friday, noon to 9. I can hand you as many whippings as you can stomach in that amount of time...just say Uncle when you've had enough..... -

You wanna put your money on the line...or just keep running your mouth. I would expect a 1100 cc snowmobile to do over 100MPH in 500ft. Can you read? This is a sand track, not dirt. It's 300 feet, not 500. Your eyes must be watering from too much "intake"....cause you're typing...but not readin.... Put some money up....allowance, lunch money...I don't care.... -

Are you asking to share Brad's with me? how thoughtful of you. And what is BBDR? Is that the 500 foot dirt track you guys ride? Once again....come to the sand and bring it. Does beating that 14 mil mean you beat Brad's 10 mil too? Cause based on that....you should just mop us all up then... I've beat a 14 mil too...and I've got the slip to prove it. Doesn't mean he didn't make a mistake/have a bad race.... When I come to BBDR...then you take your mouth of his dick...until then, keep on sucking....and see ya in the sand....I'll be waiting..for you to catch up.
