  1. Not true. We have one. I just saw a used set of CPIs chromed this past Sunday. I used them..as did a buddy. I almost didn't recognize them...they came out nice. Let me get you a number Ted.
  2. Give Evan a call. His chromer does nice work. I got a swingarm and wheelie bar being built right now that I have to get to him for chrome...might want to get in on that. He wont' send 1 or 2 parts there, but when he has a bunch of stuff, he'll drop it all off. Cheaper in bulk.
  3. You started this thread, got clowned 100X over...but he should get a life. OOOOOKKKAY....
  4. By all tools...you mean the correct thread in fly wheel puller, right? And yes...well worth that mod.
  5. Is that supposed to read is it...or it is? You're not gaining the bottom end you're looking for without taking away a significant portion of top end. What you can do is gear it down...get it ported accordingly for less hit and a more linear power band.
  6. Yep... We took one in high school (a bone stock banshee) and ran high 14's with it. LOTS of air pressure.... Took all the fenders off and gained a few tenths and 3 or 4 MPH. LOL.
  7. I wasn't REAL bad on my trail bike. On an alky dragster...in my opinion, it's critical.... By the way...you should try some small bores on your 10 mil when you can. Matt Shearer himself said that the current big bore pipes (which I have as well) were designed for 535cc Cheetah motors.... He told me 300 foot I'd do better with a Small bore. He said guys running the hill (sand mountain) or other LONG, Wide Open Throttle hills can benefit a little on the big bore. From the hill climb videos I've seen of you...you're in/out of the throttle a bit much to qualify... Just a thought...
  8. I live 20 minutes from Ray (minkia) and I borrowed a loaner set. They had the shit welds on them....and ugly silencers, but...mechanically they were sound. I'm 6' tall. Riding through some trails on private property I kept smacking my knees on them. And they have NO give...so, it literally felt like I was smacking the inside of my knee against a half barrel of beer all the time. Now..the plug changing, I can be for/against. I am a freak when it comes to checking plugs. Not like I pull off on the side of the road to check them..but on my old stocker...I would check them once or twice a day....when I knew we had a 20 minute smoke/BS break. Now...is that overkill? Probably...but, I check my plugs... A lot. Free and 2 minutes is alot easier compared to what could happen if not caught in time. I know you were a big fan of them... After a ride on them in an afternoon...never on my bikes...
  9. Mark... Pistons have been an elite NBA team for nearly a decade. Red Wings...more so....and current Stanley Cup Champs. Until this year, the Wolverines have had a winning season and went to a bowl game like 30 years in a row...and they are still the winningist program in Division 1A men's football. And just a couple years ago...the Tigers were in the world Series.... Our teams are actually pretty good..comparatively... However... Our Lions have 1 playoff win in the 45 years Ford has owned them. Now...if that is not pathetic...I don't know what is....
  10. Ummm...because of our record setting Lions??? ROFL
  11. If I say yes, I'm afraid you're going to jump on an airplane, if I say no....you're gonna have major holiday disappointment. Either way...you're screwed...
  12. Hmmm...I don't know...to show appreciation? Isn't a referral from a satisfied customer the best type of advertising AND Thank You you can give someone??? Do you have any stickers on your bike? Are they paying you? Including Yamaha...just because you paid for the bike, doesn't mean they pay you to ride it and advertise. Do you strip the Dodge, Chevy, Ford, etc. emblems off your car or truck when you drive it? Same applies....
  13. And I want to lay pipe to Megan Fox while Scarlett Johannsen cradles my step children...but that ain't gonna happen either. Buy a four stroke...
  14. Have you taken the carbs completely apart and cleaned them good. I mean speaker wire, remove all jets...let the carbs sit in solvent good? Raise the idle if it won't start with the carbs in the correct way...try opening the throttle 1/4 way. Are the carbs in sync? In other words...remove the air box...do they open and close at the same time. Also...how warm is it by you. It was single digits here yesterday...I can tell you that a properly jetted bike for the summer would have had a helluva time starting around here yesterday....
  15. I too say CPI. To be honest...I wish someone made a pipe with CPI power delivery with Shearer fit/function. Gas valve/spark plugs are a pain with CPI or Rockets. I would never go with rockets for a variety of reasons, but most importantly: 1. Fit and finish...if you like smacking your knees or beer kegs, or trying to change plugs through the front of the bike...go ahead 2. The fallout from previous owners. He said/She said, bird shit welding, I ran this, you ran that...blah blah. That made it an easy choice.... Other than having to shim out the left pipe a little, I like the fit and function of the Shearers better, spark plugs and gas...no problem. They go up and over the carbs/air filters, no worry about burning them. Ask whom ported your motor what they recommend.
  16. You might as well sit back and laugh, it's probably the only thing you're good at. Why don't you do something useful with your hands instead of type, like fondle little red riding hood's nuts or something. We know that's your thing.... Sure do ask a lot of questions for something that runs so great. Not experimental, try something new questions...but how do I fix what I fucked up questions.... I personally like how someone can post a time when they never been down a stip...and post high 80's at Sand Mountain..big deal. A 10 mil cub setup right will do low to mid 80's. Did you fuck the tune of that bike up already? That didn't take long. Mark...nice and intelligent guy or not..his posts sure don't show it. All they do is incriminate themselves more for looking like a pair that should've been swallowed.
  17. I like the cut head/domes better than a spacer as well... I agree!!
  18. It's all good. Welcome to the crack house....cause that's what drag racing is.. LOL...
  19. You won't notice a difference in performance from the 110 or 115 rod. What you will have is a more reliable engine...with less stress. The longer rod lessen that angle at which the crank is trying to push the piston through the cylinder wall... 115 is the way I'd go. For stock through .080...you'll need 795 series or "racers choice" pistons. Not trying to be a jerk...but have you thought about the rest of the motor, like porting to match the 4 mil crank, whether you're going to run cut domes/head or a spacer plate, etc?
  20. T6 work just fine for a stock motor and a ported motor. Here's the most important question. What kind of riding do you do? All the power in the world doesn't mean squat if the bike isn't setup properly to get it to the ground, pipes are one piece of a larger puzzle.
  21. Never Dull. It won't take off the bad rust, dirt..etc. But it will make 'em look awesome with a lot of elbow grease...
  22. Bad ass... A free bike and the experience and knowledge gained from working on them. That's a win win no matter how you look at it.
  23. Yep...if you're trail riding...wouldn't waste my time to be honest.
  24. Clearly...you're new. I've posted plenty of times the transitions my motors have gone through. The fact that I have tried it...posted a dyno sheet to show a curve (NOT A HP NUMBER) to proove my point I guess is lost on you. I think what you need to do, is take that 7 year old boost bottle you're using, and smoke out of it. It would be a better use....
  25. My man...say no more! No need to apologize for something you clearly didn't do... Thank you for straightening things out....but more so for keeping us safe.
