  1. Thanks NYUK, that was the answer I was looking for!!!!
  2. There is a gas station nearby that sells 100 octane gas. Would there be any reason for me to use this in my shee? They sell it for a little over 4 bucks a gallon so unless it made a big difference performance wise, I guess I wouldn't bother. What do you guys think? My mods so far are below. Sorry if wrong forum.....
  3. I would have to say you could keep it down to a minimum of practically nothing if you wanted to. I mean like changing the oil every once in a while, keeping the chain lubed, minor stuff. If thats all you want then I suggest you stay off this site cause your expense comes with the addiction of doing mods.
  4. I couldn't agree with you more. I love the look of the Banshee!!
  5. Has anyone listned to the new cd yet. Holy hell, it is so awesome, especially with a kickin sound system. Old school hollywood is a killer track!!!
  6. Seriously guys, I need some help on this one. I just tried changing out the tranny fluid and the same thing is happening. I changed the fluid, started it up and let it idle for about ten minutes and my new fluid started dripping out the front overflow hose. Not just a couple of drips, an eight inch pool. Prior to this, my shee had been sitting in the garage for two weeks. Yesterday I installed the K&N filter and changed my jetting. That is when this all started happening. Do you think that maybe something could have been bumped or something while messing with the carbs??? wtf?
  7. I have a question about the service label. The manual says that if you use a non detergent motor oil, it must be SE, SF, SG or Higher. So would SA or SB be higher or how does that work. Reason I ask is that I found a non detergent 30 weight oil with a rating of SB and was thinkin of using it for my tranny....
  8. I installed a K&N filter today and rejetted. After going on a little test run I got back in my garage and noticed a huge pool of fluid underneath my right front. After freaking out and tearing off my front plastics to find out what the hell it was, I realized it was my overflow hose running from the top of my tranny to the front end. I unscrewed the dipstick and there was definately some pressure built up in there. What the hell would the K&N have to do with this? I'm clueless...
  9. So far I have my head shaved, a lightned flywheel and today I will be installing my K&N and leaving the lid off. Should I try it out or just wait till I get my pipes? thanks john
  10. 20 lbs torque them in order in three stages example: 7 lbs, 14 lbs, then 20 lbs
  11. sold!
  12. $75 shipped. They are in great shape. I bought them a short while back hoping to find some fatty's but never made it to that point. I am holding out to buy some t5's and these are going to just sit if I don't sell them. If you want pics, just send me an address.
  13. As said in title, looking for some pipes if anyone has some laying around and want to get rid of. I would like some fattys, or older gold series, or maybe even some gnarleys. Let me know, thanks
  14. I just bought a new seat cover for my shee. A guy I work with wants to buy my original one. My shee is new, therefore the seatcover is new. I have no idea what to sell it to him for. Any advise? Honestly? thanks
  15. I ran across some PT mids on ebay. They are 100 bucks. I could not get the link here but do an ebay search under "yamaha banshee mufflers". If anyone might be interested, just trying to help out.
  16. If I were to guess, I would think it to be a couple of sizes. What do you think?
  17. What is in LS? And I have no idea where the hell St Anthony's is. Do you get out much around here in the meantime?
  18. I am looking for some weekend warriors to hook up with once in a while. I would like to hook up with an older group being that i'm 33. I also want to get up to the atv park up in the iron range some time. If anyone wouldn't mind a tag along, let me know.... john
  19. It looks like the hair is dark but the seat cover might be a bit too bright. Any comments. Sorry, but I couldn't get the picture up here.
  20. Nope, shouldn't have to.
  21. Thanks guys. You made feel better. I do know that its all about the launch so I will have to get some practice in. You know he got the holeshot because of my poor launch but he never pulled away. We were going the same speed, I was just behind him. And I know I need to get some pipes, they are next on the mod list.
  22. This may be a bit long but bear with me. The story goes like this... My buddy and I just got new shees, as you should know you have seen me around for a couple of months. My bud was talking how he got beat in a drag by a predator. It happened to be on a dirt road so I was like, dude you had no traction, race him on pavement. RIGHT! Well, we hooked up with him today and he beat us both on the asphalt. Granted, I am a new rider and not exactly a pro at racing. BUT, I just had my head shaved, flywheel lightned, and went +4 on the timing, so I was thinking I was going to kick some ass. Guess not! One big problem I know is the launch. We both completely bog down when we try and take off. Not to mention I was doing a wheelie in second. As far as I know his machine was stock. The banshee should walk over this shit. And I know I don't have this thing piped yet but I still should have kicked his ass. I am very competative and do not like to lose. Not even to my buddys shee. Anyways, I needed to vent so I can get some sleep tonight but feel free to lay into me as long as you can throw in a tip or two...!!! Oh yeah, why is it that my mods don't seem to do shit?
  23. Got her goin! Kinda weird though. After doing a spark test and countless times taking out the plugs to check them to see if they were full of gas, shee just fired out of the blue. Now everything is just peachy again. Thanks guys, I appreciate your input!
  24. Yep, did that. Not for too long though. I figured I was just making things worse.
  25. I hope this is the right forum. Anyways, I started up the shee (first kick), warmed her up and then I did a compression test. I had the key and switch off, but I left the gas on. Now it wont start. It is a brand new machine so I know that it is just flooded. I opened up the screws at the bottom of the carbs and let the gas drain out. Tried new plugs but haven't tried anything like starting fluid yet. Do you think it will be fine if I just let her sit overnight? Any tips on starting this girl? thanks
