  1. How do you know the carbs are synched? Don't use the sight glass to synch them. Do it the old fashion way and check the slides visually all the way up.
  2. I guess anyone can go all out on the stuff they buy for a sportbike though they really don't need a whole lot. The only things I've bought is smoked shield, exhaust, ss brake lines, steering stabilizer, billet frame sliders, K&N filter and everythings polished. Hellofa lot easier keeping it clean than a banshee for sure. If you ever need tires I recommend the Michelin pilot sports. Great tire!!!
  3. Might try these Stephen, I've only ordered from these two company's but there's tons more out there. Lockhartphillips Chaparrall
  4. Sure hate to change the consensus here, so I will recommend the fatties also. You won't be dissapointed either way really.
  5. Yea the chrome will turn blue, my stainless will turn a little yellow. Though surprisingly it will buff right back out to a chrome shine.
  6. Except for cast aluminum.
  7. Clamp on K&N's with outwrwears. Never a problem, only run the dunes though.
  8. Well that's a really debated topic for sure. I've seen more articles that are against it than for it, same with builders. You could have a welded crank and a non welded crank and either could last a long time or either could grenade tomorrow. Welding them comes with no guarantee and they will generally crack right around the weld. Trinity Racing said when a cranks is ready to seperate, a weld isn't going to stop it. You best bet is to take care of your motor, keep it properly tuned and check crank tolerances when redoing top end and this should hopefully give you a sign of impending doom. One thing I know is racers from the rd350 days never or seldomly welded their cranks and were running close to triple digit power on their cranks. Some say the cranks in those bikes aren't as abused as a banshee's. In certain instances maybe not, but as a whole I would disagree. Most important thing is to have a trued crank to within .001 of round. This is defintely worth a couple hp and mainly why the rd racers didn't weld their cranks. A welded crank won't be as true after welding as before. Now it may hold a lower tolerance longer, but for how long is the question. I dunno, the research hasn't been done as far as banshee's are concerned but their is plenty of information on the rd rz cranks and race bike stuff.
  9. Happy Birthday man !!!!
  10. Barnett kevlar.
  11. All you need is a few chickens.
  12. Well at least his friends has some encouraging comments for him.
  13. Nope, haven't heard such a thing. It must be just that, a rumor.
  14. Coupon? Since when do you need to send them a coupon to get a discount? BHQ members get 10%, is there more of a savings with a coupon?
  15. Well I guess this could fix a prarie dog problem if you have one. If you have a weak stomache or your super sensitive emotionally, don't watch it. If you watch it and you have one of those issues then don't bitch at me about it. Video opening A sample humor segment Gutless in Montana snippet Maximum carnage snippet
  16. The only thing I have ever seen become weaker with a PC job is rims on sport bikes. That is if they are not heated to the proper temps they will become more brittle and crack. Have seen this many times with PC'rs that don't know what they are doing. As far as steel springs, there should be absolutely no problems.
  17. Yea you don't want a 250, they're not even fast 250's either. But they are around 3k new for one. 600's are great bikes, but if your a big boy you may be better suited on a liter class bike. 600's are definitely easier to get insurance on and if you have a bad record, don't plan on affording full coverage insurance. My insurance when I first bought my bike in 2000 was 29 dollars a month for full coverage, then it increased to 70. I dropped it and went with liability for 70 a year, so big diff there. Personally, I could live without a banshee , but I have to have a bike. That's just how fun they are.
  18. Awesome glad everything is ok. Yea everything will bolt up fine. Even the stock brake line will work fine. Let me know if you have any problems.
  19. Parts come in yet? Post some pics when you get it together.
  20. You might PM BansheeGuyIV, he put some on and wasn't impressed. Something about the hose splitting or something. I would do a search on it, it was a recent thread. I just put on some of the stainless flex hose and it works killer. You can route that stuff around your pipes and it will stay where you put it. May look into something like that if your interested. I have a thread in the images section on it somewhere. Probably 2nd page.
  21. Well I guess we will all be heading to Glamis then. We'll change the weather to 80 degree's and no visibility. Maybe we could all line up our quads at once and roost the dunes further east.
  22. Oh BTW, it's not an effin tractor.
  23. Nope, just the regular 60 mph in top gear going downhill festiva.
  24. It's really a festiva, point made nonetheless.
  25. Heads and new reeds will cost you as much as a port job and not even come close to giving you the power per dollar you spend. Just a thought.
