When are you getting in town? I'm not riding this weekend, but I'm sure I be somewhere in town tonight.
-
I'm out too. With no place to stay, a shitty forecast, and no time to prep the banshee for sand, I'm better off waiting until later.
-
That sucks. I'm busy for the two following weekends, but maybe we can get together at SL or the Badlands May 21-22.
-
Yep. I plan on heading up Saturday morning so that we have the afternoon to ride, then ride on Sunday morning and leave for home at about 2:00. Are you going to be there?
-
I am very interested for me and one friend. I'll send you a PM with my phone number.
-
I'm still working on it too. Right now it looks like there is an 80% chance that I'll be there.
-
I prefer SilverLake, but I have so much stuff going on in my life right now I'm not sure I can get away for a weekend to travel up there. I can always find a few hours for the Badlands and/or beer.
-
If I don't end up going to Silver Lake that weekend, I'll try to meet up with you, at least for the .
-
I'll pencil it in on my calendar.

gas mileage? and truck question
mat replied to demonspeeding42069's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I currently have a 2002 Chevy 2500 4x4 extended cab with the 6.0L gasoline engine and auto tranny. It has a three inch lift and 33" tires, 3.73 ratio axles. I get 10 mpg towing on the highway. 14 mpg on the highway empty, and around 11-12 mpg just running around town. I haven't been totally pleased with this truck, mostly due to some long term quality problems that took GM years to get fixed. I hope to trade it for a Ford HD with the Power Stroke and manual transmission sometime. -
Aftermarket A-Arms wont fit spindles?
mat replied to 01bansheefox's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Don't try to do it yourself. If you get the taper wrong then the nut may come loose while riding. I'd hate to have a spindle separate from the A-arm while blasting down a trail . Rod is right, Jenssen will ream them. They do it for free if you buy their A-arms, but I'm sure they will charge you a small fee. They turned mine around in just a few days. -
Did the problem start after you installed the new brake lines or was it a problem before. If it was a pre-existing problem then check the caliper, if the problem started with the new brake lines, then you still have air in there. You may need to buy a mity-vac and reverse bleed the system to get all of the air out.

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men & women differ so much and I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart. I have never figured out why the sexual desire gene gets thrown into a state of turmoil, when it hears the words "I do." FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my wife and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me." I said "WHAT????!!! What was that?!" So she says the words that every husband on the planet dreads to hear... "You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?" Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed dept. store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'll just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went on to the jewelry dept. where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you...she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey." She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier". I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it." Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled WHAT???!!!" I then said, "Really honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?" Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.

The day started out pretty rough. My friend crashed his YFZ within 5 minutes of leaving the parking lot. Once we got that ridable again we took off and spoin's banshee started spitting out spark plugs. Once we got past those issues we had a really good day. The weather was absolutely perfect. I looked around for blk02banshee's 4runner, but I didn't see it, so I assume he didn't make the trip. Hope to see you guys next time.

I'll be out there on Sunday. We plan on getting there at 11:00. My banshee is all black, front fenders are cut off, aluminum nerf bars with black webbing. I'll be with a CRF250 bike, blue YFZ450 quad, and a KFX400. Tell me what your quad looks like and I'll keep an eye out for you.

Dr. D slip on. Just as much power as other full systems w/out as much noise. Comes with Spark Arrestor and is reasonably priced.
-
I wish I could make it, but I'll have to wait until later in the year before I can get up there.
-
I'm sorry to say that both her and the 450 are gone.

I rode for 4 days in Dumont with a -2" and had a blast. I had straight paddles which made turning a little tricky. I had to totally back off of the gas to turn sharply and there was no such thing as power sliding, it just hooked up too hard. Before I went back to the dunes (Silver Lake) I built a +3" swingarm. It is awesome. It is a perfect match for my power level, it puts more weight on the front end so I could actually turn. I will always put the +3" back on when heading to the dunes. But if I had to choose only one swingarm and I only made one trip to the dunes per year, I'd go ahead and get the -2" swingarm and use V-blade paddles.

Does the Sierra Sands hotel have decent parking for trucks with trailers?

Did you recently install a new throttle cable or TORS removal kit? After installing the new carb tops that come with a TORS removal kit I had a throttle sticking problem. I had the cables adjusted so that the slides would pull up into the carb tops. The slides would occasionally stick in the gasket for the carb top. I re-adjusted my cables so that the slides didn't go so far up. Problem solved.

Does anybody make a clutch lever/perch that uses a ball bearing at the pivot point?
-
Bryan, My plans have changed. I am going to be there tomorrow (Sat.) not Sunday. I'll try to meet up with you next time. Matt
-
I should be there with my wife. Here is a picture of our quads.
