Alot of the time coolant loss and overflow can be caused by a blown headgasket. It comes out of the top of the radiator because of the pressure, of the boiling water/coolant. I'd definately check into your headgasket, 'cause a $15 gasket can save your 250$+ top end. =)

About the drill & tap. I went to the local hardware stores around here, it seems that the closest thing they got to the drill bit mentioned is: 13/64. They said it would almost be identical. Now about the tap.. I didn't see any metric like the ones listed. only thing closest was "1mm-6". I cannot find a 6x.75mm. I assume it would be .75mm(width) and 6(thread?). Thanks. Also, It seemed like the drillbit was about the same width as the 1mm-6 tap. have I f.cked the carbs up now? Is the whole too wide? This is starting to be the worth the 45 to have it done

ok, after studying the pics a bit, from what I can see it looks like your wring spun, and caught the exhaust port. the gap in the wring isn't supposed to be against your exhaust port, should be to the side of it. Excessive wall clearance? I can only see 1 gap in the pictures posted, just some ideas for ya.. good luck.

Indeed.. I would check exhaust port for snags. What pistons did you run? Also, if you know for sure the jetting was on... I would say there was an airleak on the right side intake tract due to the bright white on the piston itself-> x-lean. Usually severe detonation causes a hole in the top of the piston, but to be safe what octane in the sunoco? 220lbs is a hell of a lot of compression, You need @ least 110. I would also drop the timing down to +4, I mean come on, you already got cheetah's.. quit trying to be greedy...
