  1. I had a friend in high school that had a '79 Mustang II that ran a 10.5 quater mile with very little effort. I don't really concern myslef much with racing anything because I have to put up with it all day at work. I have entertained getting into some form of racing as a hobby, but I just can find anything to motivate me.
  2. I was hoping that they might get over themselves a few pages ago, but they chose to apply what I have written in my signature instead. I'm out....................peace.
  3. Ojcools, 12 year old neighbor has reintroduced himself. The 12 yearld nuclear physicist must be unemployed as there is pretty much none of that sort of work in your part of the country. I am done with this thread. Ojcool and his nutswinging neighbor have won the arguement regarding toy dynamometer tuning and local grassroots drag racing. I would have been nice to them, but they are to busy spelunking each other turd caves to learn anything. They are the greatest addition to motorsports since the internal combustion engine. I am going to quit my job tomorrow and recommend both of them as my replacement. I also have come to the conclusion thta I should have not wasted my time on going to school when I could have simply gotten my sister pregnant and dropped out of high school to become worthless, 1/8th mile drag racing, internet race car drivers. How much does that pay by the way?
  4. I think one of my degrees has something to do with Mechanical Engineering................... I could be mistaken. What I was really looking for was a degree in watching someone else run a Dynojet inertia brake dyno ((How did you get that by the way)(Can I pay you alot of money for your expertise)). Whatever I say you won't beleive me. However it has to burn a little, that I am a well respected member of the racing community, that is 26 years old, and makes a six figure salary, all the while I am doing all the things with racing vehicles that you might like, but will only have access to as a hobby.
  5. What sort of intelligence does that sort of response show? If you are looking for credibility, I am pretty sure that's not how you get it.
  6. Ahha, you may have caught me at a little disadvantage here as I am not that current on Ford go-fast goodies. We can do a 302 base motor if you like. (Between bore and stroke I would be looking to be in the 396-402 final displacement.) 1.)Iron 302 block. 2.)Skat, Eagle, Bryant stroker crank 3.) Ford GT40 heads 4.)Mahle Pistons 5.)Carrillo Rods 6.)BDS Blower with Enderle alcohol injection manifold 7.)Motec, Haltech, Perfomance Electronics ECU (Whatever you like) That out to get you to 600hp and a bit more.
  7. It's really not about what I do for a living............. it shouldn't matter. Like I said before it also shouldn't matter whether we are talking about cars, Banshees, or lawn mowers. If you want it to be about what I do for a living, and how old I am, then just say so. I suspect the winner (so we can kill this thread) of this arguement might be ther person that has spoken at an SAE Motorsports conference. Would you agree?
  8. For the record, where would I get BS to quote from? Show me, because it's not out there. I havlf way suspect that you are ojcool's 12 year old neighbor.
  9. God dammit. How in the hell did this turn into a civil war discussion? ::
  10. I don't respect ojcool and let me tell you why: It only takes a credit card and a Jeg's catalog to get 600hp out of a small block Ford these days. The tuning that he has done on these cars and the knowledge that he is able to demonstrate regarding this is nearly equivalent to driving a car down the street from point to point with a stop watch. At this point, I don't care what sort of vehicle we are talking about. Obviously experience has been the key instructor in ojcool's career, which has only been at a certain technology level. It would seem to me that, unless you were sure that you were an expert on the subject of dyno's, one might want to shut one's trap and ask questions instead of spewtating bullshit everywhere. :shoothead: Past that, I seriously hope that it is not my knowledge of dyno anything that you doubt.
  11. I think you spent too much time looking at the auction.
  12. I think they call the bike and RZ/RD350 when you put a Banshee motor in a street bike frame.
  13. I made my mark on that there petition.
  14. You have to watch out for those medal gaskets that are masquerading as metal gaskets.
  15. I used a water pump gasket from them once. I can't complain.
  16. I grew up in Auburn by SIR (Pacific Raceways).
  17. The thing is, that he only know a little bit about what he is talking about and is clearly manfacturing the rest to suit his purposes. Beyond that, I am the bigger asshole.
  18. Pretty soon I am going to be king of all the little purple people that live in ojcool's head. :shoothead:
  19. I'll talk to ojcool about whatever he wants as long as it stays consistent.
  20. Who is a CEO of a major company?
  21. Do a search on the topic on this site. I think this debate has been done a few different times. With that said, I'll throw out a brief version of my opinion. I believe that the Boyesen RAD vlaves are a better product than the VF reed valves. I have run both on an engine dyno and on the particular engine the Boyesen product made a bit more power over a broader range. The performance gains that can be had with either product really depends on which valve's opening profile better suits your engine (when all else fails ask your engine builder which valves their engines do better with). For larger engines with larger carbs, the VF reed valves are probably better. My dig against VF valves is that the development work that goes into them is alot more trial and error than is acceptable to me (I have personally visited both companies). However, a positive for Moto Tassinari, is that they have one of the best fiber reinforced plastic injection molding facilities in the world. To make myself sound even stranger, I am currently running VF3's on my bike and am designing my triple to run VF3's as well. :shoothead:
  22. No worries. I think it is a very good point and was probably worth reiterating in this thread.
  23. The Unocal station on Auburn's auto row sells Trick race gas from a pump and is by far the best value near you. Federal Way Cycle center sells race gas as does Kart-o-rama in Spanaway.
  24. I tend to agree. My personal opinion is that the crossever in between the left and right intake tracts are not necessary with the caveat that you will need to more accurately tune your carbs without the cross over inorder to maximize performance. With that said, my opinion is based on theory of operation, as opposed to 1st person mechanical experience. I personally run an intake with a built in crossover. I have run a Banshee engine on an engine dyno with the stock intake manifold crossover ports plugged. It did not make any more or less power, but was certainly more sensitive to carburetor adjustments.
