  1. i made the desicion to buy the coolhead, but what dome sizes should i get?? thanks
  2. hahahhahaha no friend of mine rides a 4 stroke, no we all ride banshees other wise they would be trying to stay with the pack. i contacted trinity they suggested a stage III porting, but it sounds like too much. I only want a little more power not a fire breathing methanol monster.
  3. i've been told that if i port my engine i will literally see the gas level in my tank drop to the bottom before my eyes. A bunch of friends and me do a lot of long desert trips, and they say that if i port the engine my gas won't last for too long, and i will be forced to cut the trip short. how much of this is true??
  4. your Compression is 137 and 138??, wow did the coolheads gave you that much compression by themselves?? or are there any other mods?? as far as the problem goes i'd make sure the carbs are synchronized, sounds like one cilinder is not getting the right amount of air/fuel mixture. or the carbs need cleaning and it wouldn't hurt to check your reeds for cracks breaks and reed petal clearance as well.
  5. according to vito's, power pistons will add about 6 HP on stock to mildly ported engines, now, that has got to improve performance, unless they are full of B.S, but i think their claim makes sense. Unless some one here has the opposite opinion.
  6. i want to keep my banshee as stock as posible, but now the time to rebuild my top end is coming, and i'd like to know is installing high-compression pistons will improve my performance even though it's a stock engine, sure i have toomey pipes, v-force reeds, high flow K&N filter and it's jetted but the internal engine is stock. thanks
  7. i just discovered that my airbox is flooded with gasoline, does anybody knows what that means?? all your imput is greatly appreciated
  8. what would be considered good compresion for a stock banshee? how many P.S.I
  9. live like 30 miles from glamis, and yes you are correct there have been temperature changes, it's cold but i understand it runs better on cold temp, the plugs are new, the filter is clean, the problem however is in the powerband, it doesn't matter what gear or speed. for instance if i'm in 3rd gear and want to shift to 4th i have to rev the hell out of it to keep the power, otherwise it bogs down and i have to push the gas until it snaps in the high-end rev range again.
  10. i am having problems with my banshee and i need help before i spend a lot of money on repairs so here it goes: 2003 banshee with the following mods: -toomey 6 pipes, including jet kit -K&N filter -V-force reeds -boost bottle the problem: poor low-end and midrange power then the high-end kicks in fine, not very good response until it hits high-end, funny thing is that a couple of weeks ago it was fine, and yesterday it started doing this. a few months ago i discovered a very fine layer of sand past the filter but it kept working fine, now, did the sand took this long to take it's toll?? Now my guess it's that it probably needs top-end rebuild, due to loss of compression, altough it has 115 p.s.i in one cilinder and 120 in the other, the mechanics at the dealer say it's fine and yet it feels otherwise. can anyone tell me what causes this powerloss?? thanks
  11. I think if I caught some one in the act of stealin my shit again I would have to seriously f*ck them up, I've got an aluminum bat that agrees with me. yeah!, that i like RIGHT ON DUDE
  12. f*ck the magazines and f*ck the editors, i am gonna write them and bash their bitch asses.
  13. ondeeeznuts i think your banshee was just below my banshee on the dirtwheels mag on the september issue or am i mistaking???
  14. you want your shee to shine?? ok try this, go to the nearest atv dealer and get a can of "cleaner and polisher" made by "HONDA" wash, clean and dry your shee then you apply a coat of the stuff on the engine although you can apply it anywhere (plastic, metal, rubber) then let it sit there for about 10 minutes, the buff it off. it will look very good, believe me. it does 2 things brings shine and it protects the surface. don't put WD-40 or armor all, they are dirt and dust magnets. also don't expose the engine to strong soap or degreasers as they are hard on the paint and will wear it off, decolor, wear the shine off and make it dull looking. Use just plain water. this can of cleaner/poliser will also bring a nice shine to the plastics.
  15. thanks guys i'll give it a try.
  16. i got a pair of toomey 6 pipes that i'd like to remove the carbon build-up on the inside, however i can't and i won't open them up, my question is this: is there anyway to remove it without splitting them open???
  17. are cheetah cilinders cheaper than T-Rex's???
  18. are you sure banshee's will continue to exist overseas? how about canada??
  19. i love yamalube, what is wrong with it? my buddies tell me to rid of it and put maxima instead, but i am just fine with yamalube. and i like the smell too
  20. i've seen some very close calls between shee's and the new honda TRX 450 as well, and i am talking about stock 450's vs pipped shees. i hate to admit it but it's true.
  21. TEXWS6 it's going to be friggin hot in glamis i live near, in algodones mex, the temperature for sunday is 99 and monday 105, don't know if it's safe to ride under that kind of heat.
  22. dunno about toomey 5's but the T6 haul ass pretty nice
  23. i am new to the forum, and i was basically kicked out of the ATVsport forums for riding a a non 4 stroke so i am here hope to have friendy responses, anyways my question is can i run on VP gas on my shee with the jets that come along the TR6 kit or do i have to modify the carbs or jets again? a toomey tech support told me that it would loose power with the vp but never said why. thanks
