  1. the bombardier DS 650 will crush the stock shee and the raptor in a heartbeat.
  2. WTF??? what is that???
  3. that is easy: chew less, move more
  4. that is a tough one to answer, i guess i'd try to talk them into it, cause you have to obey your parents no matter what.
  5. if the banshee was a car what would it be??
  6. will the performance increment will be that dramatic just by switching to fuel injection??? don't think so, maybe more economical and better emision but that just about it.
  7. well that sucks big time.
  8. does anybody knows if yamaha is even working on such replacement?? magazines say nothing, so i guess they aren't working on shit.
  9. i believe glamis is sea level elevation, not 500' above
  10. if that is so then yamaha will leave a void in the atv world, it's a shame that the YFZ450 will fill in the banshee's shoes! that is SAD
  11. the E.P.A has not banned 2-strokes directly, most of them will be banned beacuse they don't meet the new requirments, BUT that doesn't mean that 2 stroke technology can evolve to a non-polluting engine, like i said bombardier adopted S.D.I (semi direct injection) into 2 stroke snowmobile engines wich meet E.P.A. standards, so why can't those engines be transported into atv's???
  12. we all know the banshee has almost one year left before it dies, so what will replace the banshee? i mean will yamaha introduce a new sport quad to fill the void? a 4 stroker? or will the company will embrace SDI 2 stroke technology like bombardier! i am curious to find out what will come next after the banshee, i'd hate to find out that the YFZ450 will fill in the banshee's shoes. Sooooo yamaha must have an ace under their sleeve or.............not?
  13. acording to toomey there is a sonic wave working in the back of the carbs that syncs with the pipe @5,000-7000 RPM's and that's when you feel the pull of the top end, this happens in the tract between the carbs and the air filter, they say "this tract" is short enough already as it is, so if you run your filters right off the carbs you will effectively reduce the tract, altering the sonic wave and thus reducing performance. these guys (toomey's) spend a lot of time on research and on equipment to find out shit like that, so i have to believe them, plus it makes total sense. apparently running a K&N without an outwear prefilter is a no-no, so i will opt for that then. thanks
  14. hahahahha i don't mean to be an ass, but that is funny LOL, hope you get rid of those nasty stains. you know a few months back my shee was in my truck bed ready to leave home, so i engaged the parking break and tryed to shift it with my hand from behind (to secure it even further), i didn't even saw the lever, i just reach for it, goddammit i laid my forearm on the still very hot pipe (tooomey 6) so now i have a very cute "6" tattoed in my forearm.
  15. i have a K&N filter, unfortunately it has failed, it has failed because i did't pay close attention at the product i bought, recently i discovered a very fine oily layer of sand past the filter, i'm thinking of getting a foam filter (not ot mention the top-end rebuild wich means a lot of $$$$$$), but some say it's air-restrictive and that K&N does a better job in the air-intake department but i say not a good job in the filtering itself. so what it's a wise choice in air filters? So let's hear those opinions boys!
  16. hey dlnoss i received the coolhead yesterday, thanks it's cool, i like the black anodized job (nice touch), what puzzles me is the lack of gaskets. Anyways thanks
  17. where can i get a lightned flywheel??? i mean you work on your own to make it lighter?? or you buy one already lightned??
  18. i installed the toomey jet kit(280's mains) and no problems here, but from what i see most of you run 300's on mains, i mean am i the only one who doesn't get it?? i will try 300's-310's tomorrow, i live in imperial valley CA (near glamis) so the weather is cold at sea level
  19. 20cc is pushing it??? how about 21cc??
  20. what is your e-mail??
  21. warm up the engine before testing, that should give you a more accurate reading. don't test compression on a cold engine.
  22. fortunately all my buddies ride banshees, as strange as it may sound but we don't compete against each other, we just go dune cruising, what we do though is to find the steepest and largest dune and climb it the fastest hence need more power, i seldom compete and it's usually against yfz 450's honda's or raptors that dare to chalenge me.
  23. DLNOSS i just ordered the nossmachine head with 21cc domes, tell me, is it any good?
  24. the stock head will increase compression if milled, no doubt, but the compression increment comes along with increased head-cilinder temperature wich the stock head won't be able to cool off, sooooooo go with the coolhead. peace of mind comes first, you know you will be safe.
  25. glamis elevation, hahahaha, i suppose it's sea-level, the gas well i wouldn't mind mixing pump gas and race gas 50/50, namely VP or sunoco. my mods are simple TR-6 pipes and jet kit, V-FORCE reeds and K&N high flow filter without the air box lid, i was thinking of running on 21cc domes to be in the 140-147 psi cilinder pressure range, to get that snappy lightning-quick throttle response.
