I don't have my own business but I am trying to come up with what I want to do for a business in the future. Right now I have a good job as a mechanical engineer working with offshore marine cranes used in the oil industry. I work hard for my money and I would rather support people buy buying their stuff than giving it to the government to give to people without jobs, I have no problem with people who are seriously looking and want to work my problem is with the people that don't want to work because they get checks in the mail everymonth. This week I have already done my part to support the economy by buying a frame from yamaha, arms from Quicksand and shocks from Elka I'd say I'm helping out and making myself happy at the same time.

I'm not sure I understand how does more oil = more compression? Also I thought that the fuel did the cooling for the piston not the oil? Isn't the oil for lubrication only? I haven't noticed any increase in temps @ 80:1 If what you say is true I should run 5:1 it would be ice cold and great compression. Can somebody explain.
-
Most people enlarge their swinger because they've never tried the reduction. SHEE will respond better because it puts you in better position allowing for a better ride.

Mine loves 80:1 runs great and burns cleaner than anything else. Also haven't fouled a single plug since I started running it in the spring.

Bling Star Iron Cross bumper
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to loganskinner's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I hit a parked car doing about 60 and it only bent my dg a little, it's bent in my avatar on the right side haven't tried to straighten it only one bolt holding it on sheared the other 3. Moved the car 18", Mercury sable. So I'd just get a DG and forget about the Iron Cross they look kinda cool but when everybody only sees pipes and tailights of you Banshee who cares about the front bumper. I do think the stocker is ugly though so something needs done if you still have it. -
Does anyone know anything about Polaris...
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to lastlegwarrior's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Not sure how to fix the problems but just wanted to get in here and say that the Polaris 4X4's are pretty nice as long as you never have to work on them because it takes more time to take the plastic off than it does for me to dismantle the Banshee then trying to put them together is horrible because they don't seem to line up right after you've taken stuff off. Makes me really appreciate Yamaha Engineering. -
You don't even get 6th gear?
-
Guys I broke my tie rod yesterday while jumping my ramp. I've been toying with the idea of a new frame, a-arms and shocks (I'm running all stock J-arm setup now) for awhile and I figure I should do it now instead of just fixing it so that I can throw it away later. My question is do the quicksand arms come with tie rods? I have been looking at their site and couldn't find anything about them. I will call tomorrow but I'd like to get some info today. Also if anybody has some recommendations on where to get my piggyback Elkas I'd like to get them where somebody knows how to set them up correctly and secondly the best price.

ATV safety programs
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to PUSH THE THROTTLE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I agree that they aren't bad and can be useful I myself have taken one but I disagree with laws mandating them. -
I just did the poll on the main page about the atv safety programs and if they have increased safety. I voted no but I'm sure they haven't hurt safety either. But in my opinion safety is not the responsibility of someone else to impose laws to learn. I believe that it's the responsibilty of parents to teach kids safety and that also involves participation in there lives which is an added bonus. As for older people who take up the sport or hobby depending on how you look at it should be intelligent enough to understand the difference between responsible and stupid.

CV-2 35mm on a Stroker
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to PUSH THE THROTTLE's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Loco, I'm about 2hrs, 1.5hrs, and 1 hr respectively. If I can get a chance I'll probably try to check one out never been to one. I have all the huevos vids and there's some hill climbs on them looks like fun to watch not sure that I'd have the balls to try it myself if you do it the same as those videos. Banchetta, Have you posted any pics of your intake mods? I've already gotten V force delta 2's and one 35mm carb so I figured I'd have to get some new carb boots, another carb and probably a throttle cable. I'm not sure what I need for between the airbox and carbs though. -

Banchetta, I'm not too worried about spending the money I've already talked to Jim at Passion about it so I've been budgeting for a couple months and since I am getting close too a rebuild, I was planning on a new pistons, crank, and porting anyway. Why not do it right the first time. I'm about to get a new frame and a-arms with elkas so then I will need the motor to go with them. All of it just for fun since I don't race. I don't plan on ever selling the Banshee as long as I can still ride it so it might as well get it fully built up. I also thought about buying a new Banshee before they quit making them but what good is a stock Banshee anyway? Loco I would probably run the twin 35's my single is awesome so easy to jet. By the way your videos are pretty cool that you put up I'd have liked to see the Banshee in the wheelie segment though. Also I read that you have hillclimbs in Minnesota where are they at? I live in the Twin Cities and would love to go see what they are all about. -

PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to PUSH THE THROTTLE's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Banchetta I figured that's the case but I like my CV-2 so much. I guess I can't have the best of both worlds. Anyway a stroker is a while down the road even longer with a new set of carbs. Are you still using your pt mids with your stroker? -
It's good to get opinions from someone who rides similar terrain as me. I'm not dead set on anything my Banshee is for riding not show. My banshee is 17 years old with stock J-arms and they really over the last year went down hill. My frame is pretty aged and since the Banshee is on it's way out now is the time to get a new frame for it so I need to get A-arms too. Cheaper is better and powdercoat would be cheaper than chrome but I also have this belief that I don't want to buy something and have thoughts that I should have spent a little more. I have to say I'm now leaning towards the powder coat. I wish I had more experience with chrome but I need to use the info on this site instead. So any more opinions or comments as to what I should do would be appreciated.
-
Guys as I said before I plan on chrome. Is there any reasons why powdercoat would last longer than chrome? I know that they are two completely different processes but how does the finish last in the end?
-
I also have a set of paddle masters they are made for mud and snow. I haven't had enough snow to want to try them but I have taken them out in the mud and they worked excellent. Paddle masters have reinforced paddles so that they are less likely to be torn off. They were also only $40 each from the recreation unlimited add in Dirtwheels.
-
I'm not having them done I'm getting new a-arms and the company that I chose doesn't offer white and I don't want to pay for special order. I figure I might as well chrome them.
-
Thanks for the info. Since white powdercoat isn't offered I guess I'll go chrome. Unless anybody has a reason not too?
-
So what is the triple plated show chrome? Three Layers?
-
Patriot porting plus Trinity single 35
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to oldturtle's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I too cut the tabs off the airbox. Mine fits really good no problems. I haven't taken it off yet so that may pose a problem. The trinity sure makes riding more fun though great power and no sore thumb. Jetting takes longer to find my tools and spare jets than to actually jet it. -
BEST SHIT FOR THE SHEE
PUSH THE THROTTLE replied to shweetbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Clymers and Amsoil 100:1, both cheap and just as important as the mods you ask about. If you really going to do all the mods you better get it ported while your at it. If your going pistons why not go crank too. Stroker motor and Noss head that'll get you there ahead of everything except another built Banshee. -
I don't have any experience with chrome nor does anybody that I ride with. Which holds up better chrome or powdercoat? Also some places have the triple plated show chrome option does it last better than regular chrome? I searched but couldn't find the answers to these questions. Thanks in advance for the help.
