I see a bunch of jet kits for stock carbs on bikes but not aftermarket ones. I have Keihin 28mm PWK's, got some mods done and i want to do some jetting. I found individual jets in catalogs but not an entire kit. Anybody know where i can get one? Also does a kit come with two of each jet (two carbs) ?

I bought a 1981 XR80 from a garage sale for $20.00. Now only problem, it doesn't run. No compression. Now if I set the valves, re-ring, and hone the cylinder, will I be able to have enough compression to where the bike runs?

Okay i played with my jetting for over a month now so i need some help. I have Drag porting v-forces 28mm keihin pwk carbs k&n's with outer wears T-5's thats all that i have that affect the jetting Mabe these might Bored .020 19cc domes I would know a good place to start jetting, but the keihins have a different jet number system thing. . If any one knows a conversion from Mikuni to Keihin let me know. Thanks

Well this story sounds familiar... oh yeah it happened to me at dunefest Numero Uno GET A CLYMERS!!! It helped me out a bunch. While its apart adjust your shift shaft fork and your clutch arm shaft. Seal it up with Yamabond 4. Not much i can tell you except stay organised!!! I cant emphisize this enough. Youll be proud that you dont have "spare" parts when you are done. Good Luck BTW is it Rocky or Chapparal that has Manuals for 25 bucks?

yup, after i saw the charts and testimonials on redline i was sold and switched from castor. Nothing wrong with castor and the myths about all of the deposits and residue are completely false about Castor. I just think reline is better

Just look in your yellow pages under bolt or nut. Here we have a place called cascade nut 'n bolt. You bring in your stock stuff and they mic em out and you can choose the head type, head style, type of metal, cromed, etc. They probobly have one of these types of places in your area.

You could just re-route the overflow lines back to the overflow bottle. Is there something wrong with that?

I saw this at the Dunefest Vendor Alley, just thought i would share TrickLicks.com

Since this will turn into another oil argument ill throw in an unknown. Redline Racing Oil. Yes i use it.

I need a good free picture host that WORKS What site? It would be great to show my banshee here already

Usually more air more fuel more power. A more snappy throttle response. You can just have your stock cages ported and put some aftermarket pettels in. The V-forces open larger during the intake stroke. Dont forget to jet accordingly

Yeah its out of the case. I just used carb cleaner with running water, then dried with low pressure compressed air. then took one of those old oilers and filled it with redline oil and got all the bearings drenched. Its back in and im just waiting on my Boring and pistons and im ready to go
-
Cool thanks .

As some of you may know, the right piston skirt shattered in my banshee. The case is all cleaned out and now i am clueless on how i can safely clean the crank. I have access to a solvent tank, or plain old soap and water. Then after do i spray it with the engine oil i am using? "Redline Oil"

Oversized balance pipe. Waste of money. End of Story

Cylinder size to rebore piston size

Nice thing to know. Thanks -
Powdercoat will stand up to more abuse than Chrome. Ive dragged chains and all kinds of crap over powdercoat and no scratches. Chrome will scratch and peel, and is not as risistant to rust. Powder will make everything a tiny bit thicker, but making a durable weather resistant coating. You can also choose colors of powder. I dont see the point of chrome. its goddy as hell. Same with all of that billit crap.

Florence, you can ride on the beach. Clean showers in the south campsite. Two "Famous Drag Hills" First one in south jetty parking lot and what i call Banshee hill or the Third tree island. PLENTY O' ROOM to ride. More GREENs you know who im talking about. The greens that think they are cops! Florence has more than Winchester and North Bend Combined. If you are coming from the south dont bother with Sand Lake. Unless you like Flats and Tree Shots Only

Cylinder size to rebore piston size
LeChicharon replied to Noob Banshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
When people say they bored there cylinders 2 hundrits over that means the bore size is increased by 2/100's of an inch. Usually inches. Thats why you see sizes in the Wiseco Catalouge STD=Standard 0.020=2/100" over bore 0.030=3/100" over bore ETC People may also say... "i got mine bored out Twenty Thousants." But if you remember elementary 20/1000 also = 2/100 Do dis make any cent -
Yeah an aluminum magnet. If the tax money was going to anything it should go to an Aluminum Magnet Thanks for the replys. Ive been here forever just never really post anything
-
Thats a good idea Matt. I got a clymers. I guess im just lazy I ll probly just split the cases. is it that much more work? Im down to the connecting rods and i have never split the cases before.
-
Well my right piston went and peices went all over the place. Thank goodness that it got shut of right away, virtually NO damage to the crank, rods, jugs, etc. But my prob is there are pieces in the bottom of the crank case that i can not get to . Is there any way i can get an ALUMINUM MAGNET to get all the pieces out? Also there are small pieces in the small holes on the side of the case. Now WITHOUT having to split the cases, can anyone help me????????????????????????????????????????? If someone can also tell me a decent picture host i can post the pics of the case and the piston. Chich
