  1. You definitely do not need a press.... but it does require a little punch. after you get her all apart and loose......use a piece of wood....hold it on one end of the axle and smack it a few times with a B.F.H. (Big Fucking Hammer). it will come apart nicely. And anytime you take the axle out you should replace the bearings and seals. they are cheap. you can find um on ebay as a set.
  2. and buy a cylmers manual....it will save you some headaches!!!!!!!
  3. I just did my top end....I used a local machinest here in Sacramento that all the shops use for the bore. I was going to use Wiseco's till the machinest told me they were junk. Then I say to him...what about Vito's? And he replied by saying Vito just takes Wiseco's and mills off some of the area around the exhaust ..... modifying it basically. Then I say, what about pro lites...and he say's....they are lighter buy not stronger. So after all that I say to him....what's the best then? And he replies, "stock or Pro-X". I have heard lots of good things about Pro-X's .... also, they are built to OEM specs. So thats what I went with. So we will see. I figured he was the machinest....so he would know.
  4. get a compression tester from kragen or pep boys for 25 bux and do a compression test. warm it up for 5 min.....shut it off....pull a plug....put in tester.....gas on throttle open .... kick it till the tester stops moving. do the same to the other side....minus the warming up part. hope that helps you figure it out.
  5. anyone replacin their clutch? gonna need springs!
  6. All brand new and in original packaging. I just rebuilt my top end....and put a new clutch on her. I used an EBC Kevlar clutch with 3 Barnett springs and 3 new stock springs. So, I have the springs left over from the EBC kit, and 3 barnetts left over from the spring kit...and I bought 3 too many stock springs. Also, I purchased a water pump gasket and didnt use it.... Also, I purchased stock valve gaskets, and the V-Forces came with their own. So if anyone wants um....let me know. 17.oo for the 3 barnetts and 3 stock springs. 17.oo for all 6 ebc's... V-Forces need 4 gaskets but I guess stock only needs 2. I have 4 total....for 3 bucks a piece. 6 for two or 10 for all 4 valve gaskets. Water pump gasket is only 3 bux....but I can always throw it in with something else for 2 bux. PM me guys ..... and I have pics at home....but Im at work, so let me know. I also have a cylmers for a 1999 VW PASSAT....the book works with AUDI's too....but Im not sure what years. Let me know if your interested and I will find out for you.
  7. Hey thats rocking Banshee Rider...I hope for your own sake that your telling the truth finally. This world is a much better place when everyone is respecting one another. And as for me goes...if you come through....I have a totally new outlook on the Yamaha Banshee Rider.
  8. another way to tell is if the adjustment is in all the way in at the lever. Basically if you cant adjust it anymore its time.....also, put the wheels up off the ground and pull in the clutch. Do the wheels still spin? You shouldnt be moving at all when the clutch is disengaged. And you should be able to adjust the lever to put it where it engages. Tighten the adjustment at the lever to engage the clutch and loosen it to disengage the clutch. Hope that helps.....
  9. the only reason I didnt try that on my V-s is because the instructions say ---- Dont do this if you own a banshee! That was enough for me to get it out of my mind. Specially when Im spending 2 bills.
  10. Right on dog....My fingers are crossed.... Lets all put a prayer out for the good Knight !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I just read....as I am perusing through my manual....that the rubber plugs on the botton of the cyl's need gaskecinch on um....prior to reinstall. I had my cyl's bored....so the guy took um out. I just poped um back in there and put her back together. Am I fucked or what?
  12. What up guys....installing a new ebc kevlar clutch.... I noticed that my stock clutch uses the rubber rings....which on mine.....three were broken. Do the ebc's need those .... cause they didnt come with the clutch...or am I just trippin? Thanks guys....
  13. Yup stock is 2.6 gallons and the IMS is 5 and change. But youll never have the capabilities that a 4 stroke has as far as gas consuption is concerned. We ride rockets .... and rockets arent made to conserve!
  14. I change my tranny oil every two or three rides. I clean my airfilter every two to three rides. I clean my chain regularly and lube it. I even take all her plastics off to wash her. AND I LOVE EVERY MINUTE! I also, put in new plugs every 4 to 5 rides. All because I want her to last forever! I want to go from stock to a 1 over to 2 over and end up with a big bore. In fact I bought the shee for that very reason. I love taking care of 2 strokes. My buddy on the other hand. Didnt want to deal with rebuilds....so he went and bought a 4 stroke. He is always getting on me, why you take so long, why does your bike require so much TLC? I Like it, in fact I Love the fact that if I dont maintain it, it will go to shit. Which tells me that all the hard work is worth it.
  15. I just did mine two nights ago. I know what you mean. I just put a small socket on them, then stuck the rachet extension into it. So the slip was at the extender, not the nut. It worked great! Use an open ended wrench if your not worried about your torque.
  16. thanks for the info guys!!!!!!!!!!!! As ususal the HQ comes through again!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. RA shredders .... so far so good.
  18. As far as bumpers go...the AC's def have a hard time ligning up. But the nerfs....I have to differ in opinion. I had a buddy hit a pole hidden behind a bush. He was riding a dirt road and tried going around a pot hole....decided to put his tire up on the edge of the road. but when he did, he hit a post that was cemented into the ground. The pole sheared off his bumper, and a-arms and when it hit the AC nerf, it ricoched off. He ate shit....obviously....but with only a twisted ankle and a bruised up shoulder. We found the shock spring aprox 50 yards away from the wreck site.....he said he was in 4th gear. If he didnt have nerfs on, he would have taken off his leg....or just ripped it to shreads. Either way, those AC's saved us a hospital visit. AC nerfs for life......
  19. I just put them on my shee....as soon as I ride her I will tell you. But going from 6 year old stockies....I guarantee a difference.
  20. what about the head bolts....I hope I didnt f-k up by putting some blue on there. thanks fixit .... thats exactly what I needed to hear.
  21. where you at and how much you looking to get for her? oh, and why you sellin?
  22. I was putting the shee back together last night from a 1 over bore and when I was tightening the NEW NOSS head on I realized that I hadnt put any locktite on her. So I backed of the bolts from the head and put just a little on each stud. BUT!!!!!!!!! I didnt put any on the base nuts of the cylinders. I was following my clymers and it didnt say to do it....so I forgot. Damn the luck. Anyone know? But if thats all that I f-d up on and all goes well from here, that will be cool. That will suck if I have to check my base nuts all the time. Damn , shit , Damn. Please have good info for me......
  23. look at that...Google once again answered my question. thanks to THE BANSHEE ZONE http://www.thebansheezone.com/Bansheezone/TorqueSpecs.htm torque specs....totally awesome thanks guys
  24. Aw man....anyone out there with a manual? Please please please. I just got an answer on the Noss head from the archives....20 pounds it is...same as stock. BUT WHAT ABOUT THE CYL's? DAMN SHIT DAMN.... I wanna do this tonight...you guys know what thats like...hahahhaha shit!
