the power pistons raise compression and give you a power increase throughout the rpm range. the superstocks change the exhaust port timing slightly and mainly help out on the top end. they are to be used with stock ported motors only while the power pistons can be used with a ported motor. The superstock pistons probably make more peak power than the power pistons do but the power pistons help tame the banshees wild powerband out some and give you some extra low end grunt. I running forged power pistons and I don't have any complaints.
I'm in texas and it isn't freezing. I checked the float levels and they were at the stock specifications. I'll check the drain screws tomorrow because its dark and I'm to lazy to do it now. The carbs leak all the time. At idle, when I'm riding, and when it is sitting there turned off. What I have been doing is turning off the petcock and letting it idle until it burns the rest of the gas in the carb before parking it. I'm tired of doing that.
They leak from the over flow tubes at the back of the carbs. I replaced the float level controler things and they still leak. It's the little brass piece with the o-ring that you had to take the floats out to replace. Can someone give me some advice on what to try next.
I have made a slight change of plans. I'm going to Little Sahara. The first weekend of spring break. Me and my family will arrive on saturday and stay for a couple of days.
thanks for the info benb. I'll either go to kermit or little sahara. It would suck haveing to drive back to the hotel room to take a crap though. Does little sahara have facilities?
I get out the third week in march. I would like to know about admission fees, size, where to buy the whip flags, if I really need paddles, and do if things get really get crowded during holidays. my mom doesn't have a helmet either. is that a prob?
I'm planning on making a trip out to the kermit dunes this spring break. I haven't ever been there before and I was wondering if anyone had any info about the dunes and if anyone is planing on going. I'm from houston and I figure that they are the closest dunes. Anyone have any general info that they would like to share about kermit? thanks
My banshee has white brothers silencers. I think the left silencer needs to be repacked because it smoke more than the other silencer. The carbs are jetted the exact same and I recently put in a new top end so I don't think those are causing the extra smoke. Also the end cap on the left silencer flops around when the motor is running and the unburnt oil collects on the silencer. Do I need to repack or just get new rivets?
I got a few:
1. people that ask you whats wrong when you are pissed off and want to be left alone.
2. stupid people. they are everywhere.
3. know it all's that don't know it all.
4. crying babies (just put your tit in its face. I promise it will shut up)
5. the crazy bastard down the street that stands out in the middle of the road and tries to stop you when you are on jyour w4 wheeler.
my front shocks seem to bottom out alot easier than my step dads 95 shee. the preload is adjusted to the max on mine and same for the 95. Do the j-arms have less travel than the a-arms. Also the shock springs are different. His coil up tightly at the top of his shocks and mine don't.
we moved the needle one clip richer than stock. It isn't really the posisition of the throttle that's the problem. It's the rpms slightly before you hit the pipe is where the trouble is. I'll try adjusting the needles though.
my step dad just outfitted his 95 banshee with a set of t5's. He jetted them according to what the toomey site said. It runs great on the top end with 280 mains with the airbox lid on and a k@n filter. The problem is that before you get on the pipe, it sounds and runs like crap. It gets all bubblely and weak in the midrange. It also feels weak when you blip the throttle unless you are on the pipe. We are at sea level and his cylinders are at 120 psi each. Is that just the way the pipe is?
I recently rebuilt my banshee. I went with vitos power pistons. When I put it all back together I ran a compression test. 210psi! So I invested in a thicker base gasket. It dropped the compression down to 160psi. I was wondering if it is safe to run 93 octane with 160psi compression. Also with the thicker base gasket the port timing must have changed slightly. Is this something I should be watching closely?
