  1. Ever here of what clip they set the stock needles at. I down jetted tonight to a 310 and it helped alot but still doesnt fill quite right. Anybody else running the tr6 that has been on other pipes think that they feel weird. I still dont believe that these pipes are performing to there fullest.
  2. I need to check my compression to be sure I havent had any problems with overheating yet. I was running 20cc untill I got my port job and they told me I could go down to a 19cc. If I up it to +7 is the temp going up the only way to tell if Im detonating or is there a good way to read the plug for detonation. Does anybody know what the pros and cons of more advance/retard are.
  3. I was thinking of playing with my timing a little since I ditched the key and bought the adj plate. What do you guys think would be the best. Right now I have mild port & polish noss head 19cc domes vforce reeds 340 mains stock pilots lightened flywheel cpi inframes. Iam running pump gas at about 1000 ft not sure what my compression is right now. The timing is at +5 right now can I go to +7 safely or will I not notice a difference gimme your opinions.
  4. I am in south east kansas elevation around 1000ft. What do you think about the needles should I go back with the stock or stick with toomeys aftermarket?
  5. Ok I just put some tr 6's on my buddies 04 and it does not seem right. He has .30 milled head v force reeds and +4 advanced timing with the needles that toomey sent on 3rd clip and 330 mains stock pilots and 1.5 turns on the air screw. I did some searching on here and everybody seems to be saying that the t6 is a mid to top end pipe but his is exactly the opposite. He has lots of low end but a very flat spot on top. You have to short shift the crap out of it. It seems like it just quits rapn out after it gets in the pipe wtf. I know this is a jetting problem but Ive heard a lot of different opinions on this. Oh yea air box lid removed and the single kn filter. Should we go back to the stock needles or just down jet ???? The plugs are plenty wet now but mabey too much?????
  6. The problem seems to be deeper than just a lean condition because one side is completly trashed and the other is perfect no damage at all. Boon you said it lowers the static compression? what does this mean? Do you think that I need to go back to a 20cc dome with pump gas or is the 19cc ok (guess i need to just check my compression when its back together). And if it is too high for pump gas any ideas why it only screwed up on one side??? Sounds like an air leak to me but doesnt an air leak usually give you an idle problem(i didnt have one)? Also you said that if it was the right side, which it is, that it would have sucked oil not air is this not possible even at wot that it could have sucked air? I appreciate all the help I think the best thing to do is just crack the case and replace the seals and bearings if they need it. Go all back together with it do a leak down test and a compression test and make sure. Boon what kind of compression do you recommend on pump gas? Is it possible that the pickup coil not correct could have done this or would it be on both sides, also what about plug wire ends. just throughing ideas out there iam so confused I know the rings were correct I checked the end gap.
  7. No I didnt check the compression probably should have its only bored .02 over. The only thing Im thinking is that if it was that it would have took longer to blow and there would be signs of detonation on the other side, correct me if im wrong. Also I was running 20cc domes and went to 19cc after the port is this wrong or would the compression not drop after the port job? Thanks for the advice
  8. What do you call yamaha and tell them that there pricing is to high because you are smarter than every engineer in the world and think because they are making a profit there ripping people off. I know what the shit cost hince I bought it I know how long it takes to make it hence i made it. And if you think for once second that you can make one in what, under 5 minutes go for it. Im makin them for cheaper than any I have found and my time is not free. Like I said befor "CUZ" if you dont want one fine shut up.
  9. The hole is on the right piston Ill try and post some pics of the piston to show where its at. We were running 93 octane with yamalube 32:1 in south east kansas so probably between 2 and 3000 feet above sea level. The pickup coil is probably not right but wouldnt this cause a lean condition on both sides??? Timing set a 4 degrees. Not to say it isnt but we used all new gaskets. Would a leaking oring on the head cause this or would it just not run?? Also I was told after a port job you could lower you domes down because the porting would lower the compression is this not correct?? thanks for all your advice
  10. The one in the pic is used if you read what I put I didn't have one freshly finished one so dont be talking crap on it. You know what, f you don't want one then mind your own buisness and if you think you can do one better or cheaper than go for it nobodys stopping you. Obviously you dont know what aluminum costs and the time that it takes to polish. And if you bought one off of ebay used for 20 dollars and still had to clean it up your the one who got ripped. Im offering a good product at a fair price.

  12. sorry but used is all I had at the time
  13. Here is the pics. It can be lowered more but Iam to big too.
  14. You might try a 2 or 4 ply they are softer a hook up harder in my expirence, also the the lower the gearing the harder you will come out of the hole. Try a 14 front but with 22 rears Id be at 13 front. Just a thought
  15. Ok here we go. I just got this bike back together and it already blew up wtf!! To start its a 02 with a noss head 19cc domes cpi inframes, vito power pistons, mild port, vforce 2s, kn no lid, wiesco crank welded and trued, 360 mains with stock pilots and aftermarket needles(not sure what ever came in kit) clip on third down from the top no washer. Alright the problem is that b4 the last rebuild the motor was not ported and we were running vitos ss. It ran fine for about a year then broke a skirt off of the right side. We tore top end off sent it to the porter so we decided to go with the power pistons. We found a air leak on the bottom of the air box between the filter and the carb so we fixed that but sand did get in the motor. Cylinder was fine slight hone and new pistons and rings and we were back in buisness. We flushed the crank with diesel and installed all new gaskets. Brake in was about 10, 20-30 min rides complete cooldowns. After breakin was over the bike wouldnt run in the power band at all after alot of frustration I found that the little black box below the flywheel that picks up the spark was loose so i tightned it and it ran great. Now last night we were riding and one side went dead so we tore the head off and found a hole burnt in the top of one side the other side is perfect WTF. I need some help Im scared to just fix it and go on because i no its going to do it again. My porter guy thinks that its a possibly a bad crank seal on one side causing a air leak and hence a lean condition, what do you guys think. Also is there a spec on that little black box and is this a possiblility. What would you guys do next????? This sucks cause its my roomates bike and now he thinking abouts selling he shee because its costing to much money .
  16. Finally figured it out It was a loose ignitor on the outside of the flywheel
  17. Just unplugged the tors plug No change. the parking brake plug is unpluged and cut.
  18. I have the parking brake but I think the wires that keep it from throttling when its engaged are cut and the tors are still on but would this make it not run only at high rpms or not at all Could this be a jetting problem (360 main seems like that ought to plenty rich). What about the needle what clip should I be on. I am running new ngk b8es so iam assuming thats not the problem. The air cleaner is freshly cleaned. I am wandering if this is a port problem god i hope not.
  19. My reeds look ok not sure of any leaks but everything look sealed good and tight. It does it pretty much in the powerband anywhere. It idles fine and putts around just fine but as soon as you nail it it cuts out and pops. Thanks for the suggestions!
  20. OK to start I just got the top end redone (.02 over, vitos power pistons, rings). While apart I had it ported and polished and went down to a 19cc dome. Now I am just finishing my break in. Now, on top end it cuts out and spits and sputters. While apart I jetted up to a 360 main (stock pilots) no air box lid and a kn. I already completely cleaned the carbs and checked everything twice and everythings seems to be hooked up. New gaskets on base of jugs, and on the reeds. You guys seem to always come up with something or at least point me in the right direction. Any advice is appreciated.
  21. Just put a new set of pistons and rings in and had it ported while it was apart. What break in procedure do you guys recommend?
