  1. Damn, usually it'll flow out of the carb vents before filling up the motor. That sucks man.
  2. That's the worst f'ing thing about Cheetahs...the nikasil. It holds up pretty good, but lots of $$ and down time when it needs fixed. What's the turnaround time with millenium these days? Used to be about a month,
  3. With 68 mm you can run Blaster pistons, so long as you have domes suited for those pistons as the crown is different from Banshee pistons. On second thought...Well...the pin placement is different in the Blaster pistons, though.....you may have to have custom pistons (like a 392 cub) or some custom domes to run 68mm. Not sure I'd punch it to 68 mm for no reason. Not much gain from 66mm.
  4. You may need to run your stock Banshee (if you have one) for a while before you start to build a drag racer until you get used to it. Honestly, I'd buy a turn-key 300ft bike right now before I'd build one. Everything is going cheap.
  5. Nitrous or boost is not enough for any yfz to beat a well built/setup Cub of any size.
  6. Whoa Dave.....1 psi per minute??? So if it leaks down to <1 psi(at a rate <1 psi/min) in 6 minutes that's ok?? I've had motors hold 6 psi for 6 mins, and some that hold 3 to 4 psi. The latter have a leak that needs to be fixed, just haven't done it yet. Not afraid to run those leaky motors, just not sure they're 100%. Haven't read the leak down sticky in a while, but you can get an engine to hold pressure better than that.
  7. Why not run alcohol?? I'd say 20 cc domes, 39 mm pwks with billet bowls. Don't mess with a fuel pump for 300 ft. Most run small bore pipes on that engine. Don't forget override, lockup, etc.
  8. I doubt its a bent shift fork, especially on a stock transmission.
  9. Put some wd-40 on it.
  10. He could probably lower the compression a tad and pick up more topend. 230 psi is a lot for a Banshee, not sure if the same applies to a single. :geek:
  11. What kind of damage has been done to this engine to need all of those things replaced?
  12. Agreed. My bolt-on modded Banshee smokes Craptors all day long, too.
  13. Check the compression, and perform a leakdown test.
  14. I'd think you'd be fine with a stock petcock, gutted gas cap, and stock bowls with a pump. That pump will suck a half liter purge bottle dry and nearly collapse it fairly quick. Dave has more experience with a pump, but I think he'll agree.
  15. This track is not a good wedge track for anything over 60 hp, I'd say. It's soft sand but they roll it, then put water on it (makes no sense to me), but paddles work much better than wedges on all but bolt on bikes.
  16. Yeah pretty common when the carbs suck water. Leave the airbox on when riding through water, and cover the filter(s) with a plastic bag when washing. Mine stuck wide open going through a field that I thought was not wet or muddy. I couldn't stop or turn around, so I just had to turn the kill switch on and off for about an eight mile to the end of the field. I hate mud.
  17. That track isn't taylored for paddles, but you have too much power for wedges. And the e.t.s aren't that accurate there. I'll be heading there a few times this summer, I'm sure. I can bring some paddles for you to try. Do you run a wheelie bar? What length swingarm? Maybe some 22x11x8 12 - 14 pdl extremes. I have some 10 pdl extremes that will fit stock Banshee wheels that I'd sell pretty cheap. Like new,but not the best size. I think they are 21x10x9. Better than watcha got now.
  18. Sounds like you got it covered. JUst look at your already converted alky carb for powerjet placement. Pretty much anywhere along the body of the carb just past the air filter. F.A.S.T. has powerjets,or you can get some higher flowing pjs from Dave Moore Racing.
  19. You should have no problem beating any 450 (other than an all-out drag bike) on a bolt-on modded Banshee. As for the guy running 4.3s with 275 lb rider - that's obviously a 450 built to the max, with an override, lightened or chromoly frame, etc. 450s running that on motor (or even nitrous) with a 275 lb rider are extremely rare.....I've never seen one in all of the races I go to. You should take that to the 4 stroke shootout at Outlaw Sanddragss in Alabama next week if it really is that fast.
  20. You don't really need most of them. The crankcase breather hoses can be cut off near the case.
  21. Here is a bone stock CDI curve that illustrates what I'm referring to.
  22. Not familiar with that ignition but true +7 advance is retarded. What we call +7* is actually around +25*. 0* is actually about 18*.
  23. ??Are you sure??? I don't think they can just fall out. Got pics of the mounts without bushings?
  24. http://www.pivotworks.com/index.cfm?fuseac...aqcategoryid=31
  25. Which bushings?? Those are damn near impossible to get out of the motor mounts if its the ones I'm thinking about.
