  1. Would having TCS convert it to a SCS not make it ride height adjustable? I know that it is not Elka, but if TCS could do it, I don't see why Elka couldn't...
  2. After seeing a similar thread on here, I thought I would try a twist....I just about killed myself a few times jumping and hillclimbing and I decided it wasn't for it. It was cool as hell, but just not for me Anybody want a CR style twist with cable?
  3. My first real wreck was last week. Riding at the Badlands, didn't see a bowl until it was too late, nose dived into it and went over the handlebars. Result, totally displaced coller bone. Unlike locogato11283, I don't have any metal in there....yet at least.
  4. The heads are 12mm, but the bolt size is an M8, but I don't remember the pitch. The bolts with the 10mm head is an M6, and the smaller bolts in the plastic around the rad are M5's. Take the old bolt and try to match the pitch with a new, known size nut. Then buy a bolt with that size.
  5. mrmatt: I was there this weekend (fri, sat, and sun), and I was looking for you, but I was looking from the truck. On Friday, about 2 hours into the riding trip, we were all hauling across some sand in the back and I cam up on a bowl with a 3 ft boulder in the middle. Was able to miss the boulder but I nosedived into the sand and threw me over the bars.....Result: Dislocated fracture of my left coller bone. I sat the rest of the weekend in the truck while the other 10 guys in my group played. The 'shee seems fine, but she sat on the trailer the rest of the weekend. On sunday we were parked about 4 trucks down the main road from the first porta johns on the right. 4 trucks, one with an enclosed trailer....maybe somebody noticed it, and the shee sitting on the trailer beside it. I was wanting to meet you too mrmatt.....maybe next time.
  6. I recently purchased a set from this guy. They came quick and included all new copper washers and the long double bolt for the front rez. I noticed a big difference in the braking after I put them on. I give them a thumbs up, but I havn't seen many other sets to compare it to. If you want to know anything else, just ask.
  7. Here is the backstory: A few weeks ago, I was riding and the screw on cap on the spark plug came loose inside the boot it wasn't making a good connection. I got it fixed on the trail, but it wouldn't fire. I figured the plug was fouled so I limped back to the truck to change the plug. Once I done that, it still wouldn't fire and was spitting gas out of the exhaust. I tried swapping coil wires, no difference. I have let the bike set for the few weeks, and when I started it tonight, same thing, the cly is full of gas I guess. Now, my question is, is there a good trick to fixing it? Just let it sit and dry or what? Thanks
  8. I am looking for a flywheel, either stock or lightnend for immediate purchase if possible. I am watching some ebay auctions as well. If you have one, please PM with price and condition. Thanks
  9. First, It is not my auction. I just seen it and thought somebody who needed it (or had a market for it) might want it. ATM, it is at $50 with no bids and ends in 6 hours. Just passing it on.
  10. no, I don't have anything to trade. I was looking to just buy straight out. If you are wanting to sell, PM me a price and details on the condition.
  11. I am looking for a set of 10" rear wheels to put a set of paddles on. Douglas Blues would work fine. Going on a new style hub, 4x115. Let me know if anybody has anything. Thanks.
  12. The only problem with quicksand is I can't determin if his product or service is better--They are both top notch. Anybody would be hard pressed to find a better set of arms with the kind of service that Gary gives for the price one pays. My recomendation is Quicksand
  13. Gary and Quicksand recomended duals because the main spring on the triples is softer and will compress more when you are hard in a corner, where the stiffer spring in a dual will keep it straight. I like my dual rate TCS's on my QS +2+1 arms, that's for sure.
  14. I plan on it. I took some before with my twisted a-arm, and I will take some after's prolly tomorrow. Bad news: I don't have a digital to I will have to get them developed first. The arms are red and look very sweet. My thanks go out to Gary @ QS....I just wish he would have sent some stickers with it.
  15. I just ordered a set from them about 5 weeks ago, and I had them in 3 weeks. You might want to double check that price, I heard it went to 850 at the first of the year, but I am not sure. I also went with quicksand +2+1 arms. I am expecting them on friday. Cost on those are 500, and from what I hear, worth every penny plus more. Gary has been a great guy to deal with. www.quicksandmotorsports.com This weekend I can let you know how the quicksand + TCS setup is....but I think I will like it a lot
  16. I guess you have a custom left handed throttle huh? hehe, just messing with you.
  17. check your email
  18. You have a PM
  19. While I have my new Pivot Works front wheel bearings out, I thought I would measure them, and get part numbers for anybody who is interisted. Bearings- Deep groove ball bearings, single row Inner-- 6004-(add description from below) size: 20x42x12 Outer-- 6202-(add description from below) size: 15x35x11 Descriptions-- The suffix on the size describes anything special about the bearings. Here are the relevent descriptions from www.sfk.com RS1 Synthetic rubber seal (NBR rubbing seal) with sheet steel reinforcement at one side of bearing RZ Low friction, synthetic rubber seal (NBR rubbing seal) with sheet steel reinforcement at one side of bearing 2RS1 RS1 seal at both sides of bearing 2RZ RZ seal at both sides of bearing C3 Radial internal clearance greater than Normal Both of the Pivot Works bearings had 2rsc3, but the SFK product guide doesn't have any c3's listed for that size, so it may not matter. If you are going to put a zerk fitting in your hub (or your carrier, it goes for that too), you can buy RS1 or RZ1 and only have 1 seal on the bearing, instead of 2 seals if you buy 2RS1 or 2RZ1. Seals:CR radial shaft seals Inner-- size: 25x42x7 SFK part: CR25x42x7 HMS4R Outer-- size: 22x35x7 SFK part: CR22x35x7 HMSA7R It may be cheaper just to buy a pivot works set, but there is the info for anybody who may want it.
  20. While I am waiting for my arms from quicksand, I have the front end apart and am replacing the bearings. I was wondering, would there be any problem with installing a zerk fitting in the hubs? I couldn't think of any, but I thought I would see what others thought first.

    Stock Wishbone

If by wishbone you mean a-arm, I have a lower left. The paint is wore off of the leading edge from riding in grass, but mechanically it is fine. PM me an offer if you like.
  22. Nobody has a set of 10x5 aftermarket wheels lying around that they want to get rid of huh?....okay. Well i am still looking for a set. Thanks guys
  23. I am looking for a set of aftermarket front wheels. I do not want douglas blues, they are too thin. I would prefer a set of 10x5 not a 10x6 and no high offsets, I already have the width with my +2 arms. I need wheels only, no tires. Thanks guys.
  24. When you race, it is a gamble. You have to think that you will win, or you will lose for sure. If you think you can win, put up your money and race him. If you think you will lose, race him anyway and see what happens. We can't tell you who will win, JUST GO RACE. Remember, there is no disgrace in loosing, somebody will always have a faster bike. I think it is more disgraceful if you don't want to race because you think you will lose.
  25. how much for the swingarm and carrier? would you be willing to seperate them? if so, how much for the arm?
