well dudes, being as im the one who has swapped a 426 engine into a banshee frame FOR MX...the sole reasons are: reliability/powerband of a 4 stroke (stroker 2 stroke engine) better gas mileage dependability no mixing gas plenty of mods ya'll will pretty much bash on me for saying that banshees arent gods and there are much better engines out there for certain jobs...a banshee is pretty much a dune bike IMO...so why use the engine for something you need go lug...the 426 swap really just included the engine (electrical and all), all the things necessary to cool, custom built exhaust, and some motor mounts...the kid said he knew people to fabricate so i see no problem with it... as soon as you have the motor propped in the frame, you can start fabricating mounts and seeing where things need to go p.s. - and yes it did vibrate like a mother f*cker...but performed really well Mike

hey guys, i have a mild dune setup but it's totally ok for woods, i just get too much wheel spin w/ the stock gearing...can anyone help me as to what i can do w/ the gearing so i can get less tire spin but decent amounts of acceleration (so i can hit my jumps on my property) at a decent speed... like i said i have the stock gearing (14 front; 42 rear)...any help would be great. i have my first woods/XC race on the 16th of feb... thanks a lot Mike

i might get bitched at for this but: im 18, i wear a helmet 90% of the time but at the dunes when i am going out to take pictures and putting around in MAYBE 2nd gear, i dont bother with a helmet... i just bought my first pair of riding boots, pants, chest protector after 12 years of riding... i can probably say im experienced enough to know my limits too... i really dont think it was a matter of how experienced she was (if she had ridden for 1 year or 30 years)...seems a little weird for just saying an experienced rider ran into a tree...she could have quite possibly been showing off for her friends and lost control...it says it in the owners manuals (yes i read that) that riding doubles can throw off the center of gravity and general control over the vehicle off... i think it's a little deeper than simple carelessness of not putting on a helmet... sorry if this doesnt make sense i just woke up lol and that's my $.02 Mike

Flea, for a second i thought you were gonna say you forgot to put the pistons in....now THAT...would have been insane... try getting your bike all together, wanting to take it for a rip...when you put it in first, IT DOESNT MOVE...forgot the chain...it's always the little things i feel your pain

Banshee/Blaster, I had that problem too...at wide open it would basically sound like a four stroke...it was a little clip on the........left side of the radiator that goes up to the clutch lever sensor...it had sand in the clip and wasnt making a circuit...wasted a day at the coast, came home, fixed it in less than 10 minutes....i was so mad...ran like a dream after that....GET RIDDA THOSE FUCKERS TORS SUCKS... ooh and so im not wasting room in the post Fog lights for my banshee 10" electric polishing wheel some clothes couple gift certificates... tool box tools.. basically everything i needed.... me and my dad are prone to buying things before christmas anyways Mike

shit i was 6th pinned on the beach at spinreel (sand)...and my friends KX500 blew by me like i was standing still...now i dont have the slowest bike in the world and i definately dont have the fastest but obviously the big bore 2 strokes have some nuts, i dont think a banshee could outrun it w/o some definate mods...

pretty good idea, i did that with the braided high temp hose to keep it from burning my fullbores anymore it was kinda shatty i just put my fullbores on and my t5 stinger tubes shifted and melted a big ol dent into my back left side...cant see it when im sitting on the bike but still i might need to try that since i switch to a 2 into 1 from my k&n's mike

hey, anyone have the lowering kits that have been advertised on the forum or on ebay...i was thinkin about getting front and rear lowering kits, they say it adds 2" to the front and lowers the bike 2"-4"... are these good?...are they ok to jump on (not HUGE air)... thanks ahead of time... Mike

take the plugs out...get a shop vac...stick it up to the hole and turn that S.O.B. on...i did that when i got water in my bottom end...seemed to work and i didnt even have to take shit apart... Mike

yeah you can do dual exhaust on four strokes if they have dual exhaust ports...my friend did it on his ds650 and put dual GSXR silencers on it...sounded awesome, performed great, and looked sick!...and yeah the 2 stroke expansion chambers w/ a 4 stroke motor would just be bad...stick to the basic piping and use a pipe bender and do some welding... there's a kid at winchester bay that shortened a cherrybomb car muffler and rigged it to his bike...it was WAAAAAAAAY over the decible limit but sounded pretty burl! its just like bare aluminum....if you look at the top of your cases (right underneath your carbs)...its like that...just a dull aluminum color...a lot of people polish them up...just takes a LONG time and a lot of elbow grease...
