Krap! I had the same problem the first time I tried to burn a DVD on my mac. Unfortunately, I don't remember how I solved the problem. Trying different DVD's does sound kinda familiar tho...

Toomey has a really weird silencer/arrestor setup. Basically its a big can that sits under the grab bar. Both exhausts feed into the can and then a single outlet expels the exhaust gasses. Either that or toomey has bolt on arrestors similar to those made by other aftermarket companies and called 'Sparkys'. I believe a company called Cobra makes them also, most bike shops carry can order em. There are 2 different kinds, round and oval, for whatever shape your silencers are. I would discourage tampering with your silencers to add the screens. I know that here in California the fine for tampering with the exhaust and trying to add screens is about 3x as much as the fine for riding without spark arrestors. Anyway, here's a link to toomey's product page: Toomey Racing

Demon, you're also running race gas. If he wants to keep using pump gas then +4 is a good compromise of power vs. reliability.

Here's some AC from Alba's website: Alba-Banshee Nerfs And here's Gradon Proline just for a comparison: Graydon Proline

cool head 21cc dome w/ pump gas
Wallrat replied to BansheeRider576's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Doesn't matter to me. I was just asking since advancing the timing has a similar effect to increasing the compression. -
Fullbore makes em' too. I saw a set for the Banshee at the Sandshow. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic.

Hey bigboy, is your timing advanced at all? -
I think the Graydon Proline ones are the best looking out there.

I used it on my frame. Holding up great after close to a year of riding.

Damn I'd stay in Vegas! But ya what evil said. Dumont gets scary busy on holiday weekends.

Call all the dealerships in the area. You could go by instead but calling is quicker. Ask for an out the door price, ask about discounts on accessories, etc. If you find a dealership that strikes you as better than the others (nice salesman, not pushy, good aftermarket parts selection, etc) then try to talk them down below your lowest price. The MSRP is what yamaha suggests the dealership sell it for. If they sell it at the MSRP out the door they'll still make a nice profit on it. Some dealerships (cough...alba...cough) tack on ridiculous "dealer handling fees". If you go in and aren't trying to be too cheap, but not afraid to walk to a different dealership, you'll do pretty good. Try to pit the dealer's offers against each other. If one says 5800 otd and the other 5500, ask the 5800 guy to match the 5500 but give you 10% off accesories.

Congrats man! Check out www.yfzcentral.com and www.thumpertalk.com for some 450 forums. There's a few issues with the 04 and I'm not sure if it was addressed for 05. Mainly the decompression plug. They sell an aftermarket plug on thumpertalk for about $20. Yamaha used just a plastic plug on 04 and it has a tendancy to shoot out under crankcase pressure, thereby ejecting all your oil with it. Other than that...just change out the handlebars. Ape hangers do not belong on an atv!

To "bump" a thread is to reply to an older thread that has been buried in hopes of drumming up more interest. Say somebody asks a question and a week later still hasn't had a reply. By that time the question might be several pages back, so that person could write a message to "bump" it back into the active topics. Writing "bump" in the message just sorta makes sense.

Hey quad, you should post a picture of yourself. Some people are better suited to certain costumes.

Um...ok I'm exhausted since I've been working on the bikes since I got off work at 6. I got nerfs, pro tapers, big gun race exhaust(and a quiet core for when we need it), parking brake block off, pro design filter, a buttload of jets, a ncvq needle, and some tires for the banshee. Seems like I'm missing something but my brain is fried. I'm heading out to El Mirage in the morning for break in/riding. I'll grab some more pics then.

I've got the $10 degree key from Alba. While I don't have the domes, I've heard that you can safely run 20cc domes and a +4 advance on 91 octane. Actually the Alba key is more like +3 so there's a bit more insurance. As far as performance-wise, yes its a good purchase. I primarily use my shee for sand and it basically makes it feel more peppy across the throttle range. Its not gonna be night and day, but for $10 and 20 minutes to install, its a great mod to have. BTW, some people swear against keys saying that they shear off. This has happenned to some folks on here but I've been running mine for about a year now and never had an issue. Others have run it longer also with no issue. As long as you snug up the flywheel to specs it'll be fine. If you're still unsure, you could pick up an adjustable timing plate from ricky stator for $35.

How's $40 sound for the silencers shipped 2 day priority?

Its a dry lake bed out off the 15 on Pearblossum Hwy...right near Mtn. High ski resort. Try using mapquest, closest town is Adelanto. Basically it isn't great for quads unless your out to set a new land speed record. The riding is open on the lakebed (about 7 miles square) or in the hills around it. Alot of the trails are singletrack but there's more than enough for a quad to explore. Camping is free, spark arrestors are checked. Here's a link to the BLM website: El Mirage OHV

I'll be out at El Mirage this weekend with a group of about 20 from work (all families). If you're interested in meeting up, I'll be there Friday early afternoon. Most people will be getting there Saturday morning and leaving later that day. I'll be heading home myself about the same time. We'll be near bathrooms 4&5 on the north side of the lakebed near the entrance in the small cove. Just look for my truck/trailer...it tends to stand out: Trailer Pic
