  1. Oh I'm sure RMATV would take care of it. I've had to return stuff before and they were great. I'm just ticked that they'd send something in that condition in the first place! Anyway now I'm paranoid about getting another pipe from them without seeing it first so I called up PC. They were super cool about it and send to bring it by and they'd gimme a new one. I'd actually prefer that since then I don't have to make the trip to UPS and I'd get to observe the quality prior to accepting the new one. Figure I'll try to make it there on Monday...
  2. I purchased a Pro Circuit pipe and silencer off them the other day and just got the package yesterday. Frankly, I'm pretty disappointed. The silencer is fine, but the pipe (platinum 1 for CR250) is covered in small scratches and has a fairly decent dent just above the pro circuit nameplate. In addition, the insides are rusty as hell and there's even some light rust on the outside of the pipe. PC is just down the road from my house so I was going to call them up first to see if I could just bring it in and exchange it for something that doesn't look like its been sitting in my yard for the past 6 months. Otherwise I'll have to send it back to RMATV and ask for a replacement. I'm sure RMATV will exchange it but now I'm a little leary and kinda want to see the pipe before I accept it. Just kinda disappointed cuz I've been a loyal customer for the past few years and this is the first time I've gotten something this jacked up.
  3. Wow...this one got dug up.
  4. Probably just some corrosion inside the connectors or in the actual headlight. Check your clymers for a wiring diagram - there's really not much to the lighting circuit.
  5. I've heard good things about the mini deserts...Gecko's are worse than knobbies on sand IMO.
  6. I tried one on and their 1 size fits most is BS. It fit my wife good and she wears a youth medium! I put this thing on and it barely covered my moobs. Ended up getting a Fox Airframe.
  7. IMO it really isn't worth rebuilding the stock crank. They're not 100% rebuildable so they'll never be as good as new. If you're going aftermarket, the cost ofa +4 longrod ain't much more than a stock stroke. Course then u need pistons, cut domes or head, porting... Gets expensive quick.
  8. Yup...2 into 1 carb works fine on a stroker. I'm pulling up my front end in 4th on sand - with the stock swinger that is. Had to get a +2 to keep it down a lil more. The +4 crank isn't all that expensive, but you'll need porting to get any real gains from it. I ran mine w/out porting and it was pretty unimpressive.
  9. 1. filter 2. pipes 3. suspension 4. tires 5. TORS removal
  10. Its only like $5 more for a 120 link vs. the stock 104 link so its always best to just go that route and use a breaker.
  11. I've only been on reserve twice, and I don't think it lasted even 10 minutes. Both times I was already heading back to camp. 1 time I made it, the other time I had to get towed the last mile.
  12. So lets say you don't split em and get the pc done. A year from now you wipe your crank and need to replace it. You're going to have to chisel your way into those cases. Dunno if you noticed but PC is pretty hard and covers up cracks and imperfections well - even the ones that are intentional.
  13. Screw shops, cuz they're just gonna screw you. Order parts online (www.rockymountainatv.com is a good one) and install em yourself. Buy a clymers and keep that thing handy - its your new bible.
  14. Anywhere you've polished is going to rust if not treated. For paint, I've had really good luck with Engine Enamel High Heat. LINK
  15. My air filter was dripping with gas...so would that be rich?
  16. Nobody has heard anything about it? Damn.
  17. For general duning you'll be fine. Only thing I'd avoid is jumping with the cans full or any really hairy moves. Also remember that ur gonna be overloading your shocks. Basically, if you're going long distances and are loading down the bike with gas cans, just cruise. Here's some links: Clarke 5.5 tank IMS Tanks PRM six pack/dual fuel container rack
  18. Hey look...SAUSAGE!
  19. I think it does here now too. But back when I turned 18 it was by voter registration. Gee an 18 year old Californian that's a Democrat??? Didn't see that one coming.
  20. Fuck that. Soon as I registered I got flagged for Jury duty. I've been summoned I think 7 times or so. And hey...my credit card is earning me miles for that future trip to Australia.
  21. 29 in September
  22. Low end gains aren't the onlly benefit of running a single: -My jetting changes take me less than a minute, including time to find my tools. -My engine bay is cleaner, so I can do more without removing filters/carbs. -I never burn anything on my stingers. -I'm always syncronized -Single cylinder troubleshooting definately isn't the carbs -I got a spare k&n for free when i switched to a single -My throttle response is 2nd to none -Only need to buy 1 of each size jet -I don't get holes in my outerwears - ever
  23. I would try it out first. I'm the opposite of Nyuk, I think that singles are the better way to go for everybody but draggers. If that 33 doesn't perform like you want, then check ebay. I got a 35pwk for $60 shipped from there.
  24. You need an impact driver. Something like this one: Clicky They're easy to use, you just put the right bit on, stick it on the bolt or in the screw, and smack the back of it w/ a hammer. You can get em at most places that sell tools or just about any auto parts store.
