  1. i just went through the same thing ... i was told not to worry bout the extra wire. give it a shot and see what happens . turned out that my cdi wasnt bad it was my stator . good luck
  2. i just put on one of thoes homemade heat gauges and was wondering what is the normal temp the shee should run ? and what is too hot ? havent got to ride it yet so thought id ask. this prob depends on ur mods this is what i got ... .20 over K&N with adaptor plate T5's not sure what else matters or if it does im also runin that maxima antifreez . id like to get a inline cooler maybe get 1 from CEJ (thought i saw a post where he said he made a cpl ). thx for any info

  4. lmao glad to no im not the only one dealing with dumb ass dealers.. autozone here pisses me off ... spark plugs for big block chevy, he asks me if is 4 wheel drive ... does it matter HELL NO just give me some dam plug wires 8 of um u dumb shit rrrrr . went to local yamaha dealer to get some polit jets for the shee and the jack ass didnt have a clue what i was talking about , he was like .. umm whats it for i said 91 banshee ... he's looking the the puter and says umm u mean main jets ? no shit brick polit jets rrr . im sorry but peps like that dont need to work in a place they dont no shit about . needless to say i walked around counter and picked up the jet box and looked for my self .
  5. is there a diff. style hush kit other then the 2:1 ? that thing is ugly IMHO . shee's jus too loud .. will repacking help any ? i noticed in the left silencer the tube inside moves around like the packing is gone ? right side dont move . will any packing work or does it have to be toomey packing ? thanks for any info .

  7. shee has a mind of her own lol runs then dont wanna run . its runnin good today pullin hard, 300 mains stock pilots needle on the 2nd from the blunt end yep 2nd i tryed all 5 and shee runs best on the 2nd . installed my K&N today breathes alot better now . just gotta keep playin with it i guess.. ill try the air screws tomorrow .thanks for all the help guys jeff
  8. I'd pay ... iv learned alot from this site and still have alot to learn . i agree with this ..... (I'm also for a special program that is like 12-15 bucks that you get access to the Swap Shop. If your gonna be selling or buying on the site and looking for deals, why not throw out a couple bucks to have that privelage. ) thats a good idea . IMHO
  9. hmmm mine does the same thing lol gets stuck in my pants leg . wish i had a spare to put on so i dont have to push/pull start it while waiting to get mine fixed . ill prob send ya mine holyman if i can find another 1 to put on her . . jeff
  10. oops... with or with out choke it does it. iv tried not giving it gas and giving it gas fires up and dies . when its warmed up it seems to start first kick ( sometimes) once i do get it started and just keep bliping the gas it will take off and then run its weird . i guess it could be losing fire too huh? im just gonna keep tinkering with it and hope it comes too . ya i also checked the carb bowls i got um right . ill do a plug chop and post the pics that will be next weekend . thanks again banchetta. jeff
  11. ok guys just to update ya on my shee, iv been messin with it all weekend and just tonight i got it runnin a lil better heres the scoop... i pulled the carbs off AGAIN pulled out my reeds to check um AGAIN they look brand new, cleaned um up threw the reed spacers in the trash. bolted the intake back up then started on the carbs and checked and cleaned everything AGAIN the right carb float was bent all the hell dont now how but i no i checked the float hight 20+ times lol bent it back set it with my handy float hight checker (thanks to BenBB's jetting FAQ) . as of right now 300 mains,25 polits, needles 4 clip from the blunt end ( was on 3rd) air screws 1.5 turns out and shee runs pretty good the plugs are a dark brown almost black so i think im a lil rich . i think with a lil more tinkering ill have her runnin good . but i still have a prob hope someone can help me .... when trying to start it, it would fire up then die like it ran out of gas blaaaaa ring ring blaaa . i checked the pitcock and it flows like mad what could cause this ? i also noticed the the left header pipe has a small crack in it ( saw where oil has leaked out) with this affect the performance? i can weld it up at work and prob will put just was wondering . thanks to all ur help shee is running again i cant thank u guys enouph . jeff

  13. how do you tell the diff. ? like a dummy i did both carbs at the same time . today i cleaned my carbs and put in some 300 mains in helped a lil but still ran like shit , BTW the plug wires are ok . i pulled the lid off the air box and hit seemed to rev better but i didnt get to ride it like that . im waiting for the 27.5 pilots shop didnt have any. it starts easy and idles good just when powering into it , it craps out .. sounds like chit too .... jeff

  16. yep .. i just went out and messed with it again swtiched the wires back and both cylinders were hiting but when reving it u hear one drop off and then pick back up gotta be somthin with coil,wires or ground . im geting tired of messin with it i jus want the pos to run and run right . sure wish some of u guys were closer to me sure could use some onhand help lol . thanks agai banchetta
  17. i just put a stator on mine and i just held the plug im my hand and kicked it .... yep its got fire . if its dark out u can see the spark better.
  18. rrrrrr.. ok guys i put my T-5's on the shee my K&N hasnt got in yet so im still runnin stock filter ,lid on snorkel off the guy i got the pipes from gave me some 260 mains ( said thats what he was runnin in his) so im runnin 260 mains stock pilots (25's) and the neddles i havent touched so 4th notch (stock). air screws 1.5 turns out. i put some new plugs in (NGK BR8ES) new gas 93 oct. 40:1 formulaK2 well i went out to run her and check the plugs and shee runs like shit seems like the bottom end is ok but when i tryed to pin it open to do a WOT test 1 side droped off and spit and sputtered so i shut it off pulled the plugs and the left plug looked good choc. brown and the right looked brand new ? well i swtiched to new plugs and put the plug wires on the oppsite of what they were and it was visa versa as above . could i have a plug wire bad ? im gonna clean the carbs again some time this week do u think it could be jetting ? shee's just really runnin like crap . iv gotta get it goin right my bro smoked me on a piped ...well im not gonna say , lets just say i got beat . sorry for the novel guys and thanks for any help . im at 1200 ft above sea level " i think" . jeff

  23. thats not bad at all .. hmmm gonna start saving now hehe . i would want somthing more for woods riding (trails) i want more bottom end and dont mind losing some off the top . could goto a 2:1 pipe but im set on DMC 916 . but for 150 bux i couldnt pass up these T-5's . maybe someday ill have a passion engine .

  25. wooohoo the stator did the trick . i got to ride a lil today nothing real hard for some reason the clutch was sliping it never sliped befor any ideas ? i played with the adj. screw on the perch and it helped alot . i also noticed a slite low end bog bout about 1/2 throttle maybe a lil less then half? as of right now im still running stock pipes and filter (lid on ) . im pretty sure the mains are 200's and poilot are 25's (stock)? i removed the snorkel , so i need to rejet right ? if i put in 260 mains would that be too much ? im at 1200 feet above sea level if i remember right , 60-80 deg F . iv got a K&N filter comin so im gonna wait till then to put my pipes on (T-5's) like i said above it has been bored .20 . im gonna mess with it in the mornin maybe adj. the air screws clean the carbs up . sorry for the novel . iv been readin benbb's jetting FAQ so maybe someday i wont feel so stupid hehe . what do ya think benbb and or banchetta ? jeff .....(sheeWASbroke)
