Do you honestly think we are at war for Oil??? Ya know what.. Turn off the heat, turn off the lights, give up your phones, sell your cars and live in a hut. Look around you, do you realize how much "OIL" is used for day to day events? Without "OIL" you wont have any power/utilities, No phones, No cars... Since no vehicles will be able to run without it... you may as well give up food........ what supplies the stores you buy from? (trucks) The toilet paper you wipe your backside with needs oil/fuel to be produced and delivered... How will you cook your meals? This country is in trouble......... big trouble. Since the choices we have for president are BOTH puppets... ever wonder what controls a puppet? Every last one of the people in congress are liars. not one of them are trustworthy....... So out of that you would rather have Kerry in charge? He is a hippie tree hugger that thinks "Peace" will make the terrorists go away. Yup... they will be back next week for our lunch money..... you can guarantee that. One last thing......... If Kerry gets elected...... you may as well sell your banshees now because he is trying to close down all state parks and legal riding land.......

As I told Chris at K&K to tell you and I will say it again......... Before you spend ANY more $ on ANYTHING................ make SURE you get yourself a pro-design plate for the air box (or something similar) You will cook that motor in a blink of an eye if that air filter isnt in perfect. As for wheels/suspension............... Save your $ on the wheels and get yourself some suspension first. You will be faster and safer, on better suspension.......... and did I mention faster? Just shocks will make a big difference.... but a-arms/shocks/axle will make more of a difference than the pipes!

One more thing to add........... What do you think Putin/Russia is willing to do? Do you think they are going to sit back and let these spineless cowards get away with killing all those innocent women and children? Russia overall will not tollerate what happened and wont be as nice as we have been. Do you think they will get involved because of the OIL? If we keep letting these animals get away with what they are... it will never stop. Same as a bully in school. You keep giving them your lunch money then they will keep coming back for more. First off.... Who is the puppet? Guess what....... Every last one of our presidents.... None of them can make a decision on their own. I dont trust either of our choices since I think they are both liars. Lesser of two evils.... I dont think Kerry could manage his way out of a paper bag. He "claims" that bush is pushing big business out of the country when the business' that him and his wife own are based in Mexico or over seas. Only basic operations are done here on U.S. soil. And whats this I heard about the "false" storys released by Kerry's campain, about Bush.... Now all of a sudden they are "claiming" that they didnt come from them. Can anyone tell the truth? If you want to bring up about the war we are in the middle of.......... What do YOU think should be done about it? How would YOU feel if you just watched your family member get his head chopped off while still alive? These people are animals... and should be treated that way. To think this war is over oil is just absurb and ignorant. Anyone here that has friends or family overseas right now will tell ya... Everything were reading and watching in the news is just propaganda. They are limiting what we are being told due to the election.... The more I think of this the more it makes me sick.... Excellent post(s) Ducman/therail. Thank you for clearing some of that up. I apologize for the 4mm-5mm differences in the rods... Again it was a rough weekend. As stated... you can run what ever porting the cyls already have... but with the longrods... you can go a little more agressive. I dont have all the techno mumbo-jumbo off the top of my head... since it was explained to me a long time ago. Hope we helped roostthrower and sredish

Its been a long weekend... and my brain is about spent....... glad tomorrows monday/work. That way I dont have to think about anything. Yes its 70% that you dont want to go over... and not only for piston/ring life but also overall performance. Tripple exh isnt the golden ticket.... while it can help... its not the cure all. Ahhhhhh all the "What ifs" If only Yamaha stepped up with a few things.... Imagine where the banshee would be today if they kept up w/ technology (as with the 4 strokes)

roostthrower: When replacing the sleeves you need to cut the cyls out to fit the new larger diameter liners. Now if the roofs of the transfers were flat, then not much would have to be altered, but most transfer angles are angled. Now off the top of my head I dont know the OD of the larger liners but a lot of your transfers are removed.... thus changing your port timing. Now remember you cant go too wide on your exhaust since there are water jackets on both sides... and you also dont want to go over a certain percentage of bore (not sure right now the max) this link may explain some by the images http://macdizzy.com/cylinder_map6.htm As for longer rods and diff pistons.... Yes your port timing would be back where it was.... but with the longer rods you can run a little more agressive porting since the long rods will gain a little torque (thrust angle on the crank) Thinking about it now... I think the long rods are 5mm longer than stock... Im confused now hehe

Actually a long rod does not change the stroke... So if you already have bigbore cyls then you would need to run blaster pistons or the 795(?) series wisecos.. Difference in them is that the pins are located 4mm lower than the stock pistons. (long rods are 4mm longer that stock) Either way the porting may need to be changed some due to the long rods... You can actually run a little more exhaust duration than a stock crank. You can (depending on port timing now) run the porting the way it is but it will be on the conservative side. My question is... Were the cyls ported prior to being re-sleeved? If so then the port timing will be way off... Since upon the installation of the BB sleeves they need to cut the cyls to accept the new sleeves. In doing so the port timing will be way off.....

I repaired a similar case crack w/ JB weld... BUT! You will have to drain all the oil and make sure its SPOTLESS clean. The cases I repaired were split at the time so it wasnt a big deal. I personally, would split the case to repair it... but thats me. Its a day job to take it apart and put it together... worth the expense than the alternative.... Alternative being what would happen if you lost all tranny fluid while out riding... and you didnt know it.... The repair I made held great for 2 years of riding before changing cases... I only changed them due to having a spare set. The repair held fine and never leaked.
