Ok, that's what I was thinking. I bought it online and the guy said he would cut it to length for me but I think it is one short. I already have all the adjustments in so I can't make the distance any shorter. I'm going to check when I get home but I'm thinking that I'm one link short.
-
I'll have to check tonight but it looks like how I have mine. I think I'll be counting links of chain too. I wondering if I don't have a long enough chain.
-
Does anybody have a picture of how it should look? I have it routed so it goes above the top roller on the way to the engine and below the top roller on the way from the engine. I thought that was how the old one was but I could be wrong.

Don't buy from atvseatcovers.com. That guy is fucking asshole. I bought one from him and had nothing but problems. I was building my Shee and didn't want any sponsor or logo crap on it. All I wanted was a nice clean cover so I custom ordered one from him. I told him exactly what I wanted on the phone!! I ended up getting a piece of shit with his logo stamped all over it. I called to talk to him about it and got nothing but shit from him. He told me he could send me one without his logo but it would cost $20 more than the one with his logo. WTF!! On top of looking like shit it was slicker than snot. I rode on it twice and then threw it away. Check out these guys on eBay. I called them and they custom made me one that is awesome and it was cheap! The best part was that they made it and I had it two days later. Extreme Cycle

I did some searching but I can't find what I'm looking for so here goes. When I bought my Shee the chain was really loose and stretched out. I put a new chain on and adjusted it while the bike was on a stand. It has about 1.5" of play when on the ground which seems about right. When I sit on the bike though the chain gets REALLY tight. My question is should there be any play when sitting on the bike?

I have about the same mods and hit the mid 70's on my Shee too. I ride almost all sand so that is fast enough for me.
-
Ditto, unless you opened the system you just need to keep pumping and the piston will slowly move out to where it should be.
-
Damn, I didn't think $11.50 sounded like shit until I figured out how much money I actually take home. After taxes, child support, 401k, and all the other BS my take home is pitiful...... Congrats on the new job and new places to ride.

Nice. Who is that with?

Is anybody running a Moose clutch basket? The look almost identical to a Hinson but I can get one locally for about $50 less. Are they any good?

Ok, I must have been smoking crack or something. We did a little field repair once and now I remember what we did. We basically had the bike on it's side but also with the back end off the ground. That way we didn't have to drain the oil and we could pull the shifter off and adjust it. If you have it in the garage though just drain it, stand it up and go to work. You will have to take the brake and foot peg off too.
-
The oil would go into the case. The shift shaft runs towards the back of the cases but I don't think it is where the oil can get to. I could be wrong on that but I don't remember any oil seals in the area the shaft goes through. You do have to take the clutch off though.
-
If you want to do it quickly just stand her up on the left side so all the oil flows down into the case. Then take the right side cover off. Pull the old one and put the new one in. Ten minutes and you are done.

Well, I got on eBay this Saturday because I was selling my truck. I wanted to see how it was doing and I noticed that I had a Yamaha Scrambler for sale too. First I thought "WHAT THE f*ck" then I checked my email and had something from eBay saying that my email address had been successfully changed. It turns out that somebody got into my account, changed my address to theirs and then listed a quad for sale. I was able to get everything back under control and cancel the aution but that's as far as it's going to go. Ebay said that it happens so often they don't even follow up. They did credit my account for all of the listing fees but that was all they would do. How about catching those fuckers!!!

As long as you aren't leaking tranny fluid don't worry about it.
-
Depends on what oil you are using. I run Yamalube at 32:1 just to be safe.
-
You could use a couple rolls of duct tape and a bag a zip ties to keep them on a Shee.
-
Not sure I needed to know that. Anyway, I think if you throw enough money at any quad you can make it a hell of a lot faster than stock. Look at Banshees and most of us probably have as much into mods as the cost of the bike. Drag Shee's are running around three times the HP as a stock one. Just image if the Kawi did the same.

Ok, I thought I recognized that name. Yes, I'm the same asshole over there too!! I'm heading out Sunday afternoon for a quick break in ride and then hopefully to SL sometime right after Thanksgiving.
-
Hillsburrito!! Of course, I hear everybody calls my town CrackMinnville. Yeah, I ride at SL. I'm just finishing up a rebuild(hopefully tomorrow) and then I'll be back on the dunes. Check out SLD if you haven't already. It's a bunch of local riders. Not much technical stuff but plenty of BS!

Definitely get that Clymers manual. I had never been into an engine until about six months ago but the manual makes everything easy. Sometimes I feel like complete dork flipping through the book while I'm working on the bike but it is the best $20 I've ever spent.

This probably really is a scam but I saw close to the same thing a few weeks ago out here in Oregon. It was a "private" auction just like this one so I emailed the guy to see if he would let me bid on it. He wrote me back and said no that only one person was allowed to bid on it. Then "buy it now" price was used after only being online for about an hour. I was curious so I kept asking him questions. Basically he was getting a divorce and was forced to sell his Shee. He put it on eBay and had a friend buy it for almost nothing. It was a 2002 and I think it sold for around $1500. Then after the divorce was final he was going to buy it back from the friend. I wish I would have thought of that before I got divorced! I'd still have my Tacoma!!

Do everything as said above and then just start wiggling the cover around. I couldn't get mine off either but after a few seconds of just wiggling it around it popped off. I think the gears probably just don't want to let go of each other.

Pressing Throttle While Starting Cold?
kenr74 replied to Banshee0028's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I usually open/close the throttle a few times. Mainly just to make sure they are moving freely. I don't normally hold them open though while kicking it. I'm sure one of the experts on here has a better answer for you.
