The way i sync the carbs is take the air filters off and look inside the carbs at the slides, adjust the idle screws on the top (stock carbs) untill the slide just seats on the bottom then turn the screws 1 full turn up for idle.

You can get a magnetic drain plug to catch those metal shavings so they dont just float around in there.

I'm sure you will have to run atleast a 50/50 mix of race gas. Do a compression check. You should be able to run pump gas anything below about 160 psi but I'll bet you are above that.

I donno what size it is but when I had mine I would just go to the bike shop and tell them I need a k&n for a 400ex, fits like a glove. The only problem with it is that I kept burning holes in it from rubbing on the pipes, individual clamp ons are much better IMO.

I believe the stock cranks are just welded on the outside and aftermarket cranks are welded inside and out. The reason for welding the cranks is because they tend to seperate or twist over time. As a precaution the crank should be welded at any time with or without modifications. Some people that is the first mod they do as soon as they leave the dealership.

Do you have to do some porting for a 4mm stroker longrod crank or can you just drop it in without modification? Also does the crank make more hp or does it just give more lowend torgue?

A 310 main sounds a bit lean to me with that set up, I would go with at least 330-340 mains.

Has anybody here ever welded their own crank? I have a wire feed welder and I'm very capable of welding but how do you get it trued before welding?

I spent 20$ for a Craftsman, really nice pliers and they got the ring off with ease...no slippage!

I've heard that cpi's work better for ported motors and t6's are for stock motors but how do the t6's perform with ported motors? Will ported cpi's out perform ported t6's?

How would the pwk 28's work on an unported motor? much difference over stock?
