  1. so... i've decided to pick up a steering stabilizer. i'm sick of fighting the bars and getting arm pump when ripping through rough stuff, especially when track riding. after searching thru old threads, i was, at first, thinking going with a piston type damper. but.... its seems for a little bit more coin, the scotts is the way to go. i was just wondering if other places sold them besides directly from scotts. maybe for a little bit cheaper.
  2. i love my shocks. i grabbed them off of ebay. they have eibach dual rate springs. i adjusted the preload so there wasn't as much sag with the yfz a-arms. they are so smooth. trail riding and jumps are like butter. i had 04 yfz shocks before and they were so friggin stiff. here's a pic of them.
  3. i bought this rack because it was alittle cheaper than others and now i know why. after the second ride, carrying a 2.5 gallon can, the rack bent down and also bent my silencers down. it is a piece of crap. i thought maybe it was from too much weight but my buddy carries the same gas can on his 250r. his rack supports the weight just fine. i learned my lesson and ordered a prm rack. just wanted to pass this along so others don't make the same mistake. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANS...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. i just picked up a pair of oko 30mm for carbparts. and i'm looking for a starting point, jetting wise. they sent me 155, 158, and 160 mains. the pilots are 52 and 50. i haven't check the needle placement yet. they have 158 and 52 installed already. what do you guys think? mods are in my sig. average temp is 70 and i'm roughly 500ft or so above sea level. any help is much appreciated. :biggrin:
  5. i was fighting with getting my engine out until i realized i forgot those two bolts underneath. came right out with no problem. tilt the front back, twist/lean it to the left side, and it came right out.
  6. sunapee?? no shit. is there alot of trails up there? i'm always looking for new places to ride. just did the rockingham trail this past sunday. decent trail although it was pretty friggin dusty.
  7. thanks guys for you responses. i ended up dropping the main to 360 and the bike ran great yesterday. i was unable to do a plug check as the trail we were riding is fairly tight. i was barely able to top out in 4th. but goddamn... at half throttle in 4th she pulled like a sob. i can't wait to hit some really open areas to top her out.

  9. i live over in hooksett. do you do a lot of riding in hampton? the pic in your sig looks like a great place to ride. where abouts is that? i love climbing hills..
  10. my bike runs like a raped ape but it acts weird in 4th, 5th, and 6th. well... mostly 4th and 5th. haven't riden anywhere yet that i needed 6th. if i'm in either of those gears giving it 1/2 to full throttle, it'll rev up then the rpms will drop alittle. when the rpms drop, it'll start pulling hard as the revs climb back up. but... the rpms don't climb as fast as the first 3 gears. could the mains be too big? its not bogging down and losing power. mods are in my sig. plus i'm running 15/41 gearing and no airbox lid. and this is the 2nd ride after port and new top end. my jetting is: 370 mains aftermarket needle (6 notches, longer than stock) -> 4th from the blunt end stock pilot air screws 3 turns out. haven't down a plug chop yet. there really is no where close by where i can safely run it wide open

  14. wish i would've grabbed this before others started bidding. i'll just have to out bid them. edit: i saw the 2 into 1 adapter. what i meant was the plate on the far left. is that what connects to the airbox? if so, is there a boot need to connect it to the carb (the side that's showing in the picture)? so... not very knowledgeable when it comes to 2-into-1 carb setups.
  15. does this come with jets? what about the boot for the intake adapter to the carb? i don't see one in the picture.

  23. i have a set of the SSTs /powercore 2 silencers i want to get rid of. there are no dents anywhere on them. but... they are not perfect appearance wise. there is some surface rust on the head pipes. and on the left pipe there are a couple spots where my snow pants melted on to it. i've tried to clean them off but no luck. other than that... they're fine. i did lose one rear bolt for the silencers. i think the little gnomes that steal my socks out of my dryer snagged it. i will take some detailed pics and posted them later tonight. since they're not perfect because of the appearance, i'm asking $300 shipped plus paypal fee. i will only accept payment thru paypal.
  24. the silencers i have are for the banshee. the second picture i posted was just for reference to show what the end caps look like. all the pictures i've seen of the 304 silencers for the shee look like the first one. just curious... that's all.
