  1. i'm trying to get the sprocket hub off and i can't get the inner axle nut to loosen up. the outter one was no problem but the inner one is giving me one hell of a fight. anyone have any tricks to get this bitch loose? i sprayed the shit out of it with some wd-40 last night but i doubt thats going to make it an easier.
  2. yeah...that's what i was thinking.
  3. i was putting my noss head on yesterday and i snapped the first stud while torquing the nut down. i was really surprised because the wrench was set at 10lbs. my first thought was that the wrench was messed up, but i tried torquing the second nut down at 10lbs and had no problem. so this leads me to believe that the first stud was weak. i'm concerned that the same thing could happen with the other studs. are there any stronger aftermarket studs available, or should i just stick with oems? should i just go ahead and replace all ten studs and nuts to be on the safe side? i'm sure it'll be a pain in the ass to replace all ten. but, i'd rather be safe than sorry.
  4. i lost one and didn't replace it right away. looking back now, that really wasn't a great move. the remaining ones were sheared off. i'm hoping i can use an extracter to get them out. i really don't want to have to replace the hub also.
  5. my rear sprocket came off and i lost all 6 sprocket hub bolts. so, i'm looking for good replacements. any suggestions? i guess i can always pick up some replacements from the dealer, but i was just wondering if anyone knew of bolts that are stronger than the oem ones.
  6. the swingarm is stock and stock length. i want to gear it down because i ride trails and i don't really care about top end. i rarely go above 4th gear.
  7. yeah...i'm going to go with the did x-ring. i'm just not sure how many links i should get. correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the stock chain is 104. should i just go with a 104 with 13/41 gearing?
  8. i snapped my chain and bent the rear sprocket yesterday so i need replacements. i was thinking i might as well drop a tooth and go with a 13 in the front and stay with a 41 for the rear. i figured i'd go with the did 520 x-ring chain but i'm not sure which one to go with. which is the one i want to get (520 x ???)?
  9. no kidding...i think i'll try that. so you just file it down so it has a point like a screw or a nail or whatever?
  10. have you added any new hardware or software to your computer?
  11. i went to take the shee out for a beat run but i noticed that one of the idle screws was missing . where can i get a replacement? it said on motion pro's site that you can order replacements from them. but i was hoping maybe i could grab one from a local shop...if possible.
  12. sounds like the ground was loose. i had the same exact problem with my old system. played fine until i cranked it up. it would cut in and out. make sure you have a clean ground point and tighten that bitch down.
  13. oops...i meant clutch cable not throttle cable. previous post fixed.
  14. well...it looks like its the clutch cable. i took it off and tried lubing it up. i threw it back on and the samething is happening. i'm pretty sure its the cable because when it sticks i can free it up by wiggling the cable. and just my luck...the local yamaha dealer doesn't have one in stock . since i'm going to have to wait a few days...i might as well go with an aftermarket one. any suggestions on a good replacement clutch cable? :edit for dumbass mistake:
  15. what can i do to fix it so it won't happen again? where abouts is the ball and rod?
  16. i slapped on my new wheels and tires today and went for a little beat run. everything seemed fine then i was cruising along in 2nd gear and shifted down to 1st. as soom as i pulled the clutch in it had a lot of play in it and i couldn't get into any gear. both the lever and cable were very loose. i played around with both and when i got them to tighten up the clutch lever was pulling it self in towards the handle bars. played around with it some more and it just loosened up again. so i pushed it to where i could tow it home. grabbed my truck and went back to get it. and to my surprise...the clutch was fine. i rode it back to my house, shifting thru the gears, and everything seemed fine. what happened? i would think i need to do some adjustments to the clutch and made lube up the cable. what do you guys think?
  17. you're absolutely right. most of the media is slanted quite a bit to the left, unfortunately. they'll show more of the negatives in an attempt to make bush and his adminstration look bad...that's what i think anyways.
  18. something about that vid looks altered...but maybe because of the poor quality. he still has my vote. f*ck kerry.
  19. Thanks guys for all your input....really helped me out. MotulMonsta...I don't know her name or anything. I found a couple pics of her somewhere on the net so I thought it would make a nice avatar. Its hard to tell from that pic cause its small...but goddamn she's a cutie.
  20. I want to buy a new set of wheels and tires for my shee but I just have some questions before I do. I want to get Maxxis Razr II's front and rear with Douglas .190 wheels. Everywhere I've looked seems to be out of the Razrs in 20x11x9 but I did find a place that has the Razrs in 20x11x10. Any ideas on the weight difference between the Douglas 9" wheel and the 10" wheel? Would it be noticeable? I am also concerned about increasing the chances of damaging the wheels. Is this something I should be worried about going with a 10" wheel?
  21. are they still for sale? how much?...throttle cable included?...idle kit installed?....
  22. if you can help me out in any way...i would really appreciate it.
  23. when i bought my banshee it came with lazerstar lights. well...atleast i believe they are lazerstars. anyway...when i was out riding one of them blew. so all the power went to the other light. that caused a sort of melt down. the little round piece that the bulb plugs into melted and cannot be used anymore. i took it to a couple bike shops around and none of them knew where i could find a replacement. i e-mailed lazerstar but never heard back from them. if anyone knows what part i'm referring to, where can i find a replacement? i really don't want to buy a new set of lights when all i need is that piece or maybe even a new wiring harness. anyone???????
