  1. Man, you guys all sound like you were put under for the procedure! All they did for me was give me local anasthetic. I guess I must have been lucky...I went back to work the same day, didnt really hurt at all. They gave me vicodin es 750's but I didnt even take any of them. As for losing the wisdom teeth making you dumb, it is actually a proven statistic that people that keep their wisdom teeth are more likely to have phsycological problems than those who dont.
  2. I have the 450 shocks, and I have stock arms. The top shock mount needs trimmed very slightly, but I had to move the inside of the bottom shock mount to accomodate for the geometry difference. Also the bottom of the shocks are much thicker, so I had to manipulate the metal in the mount a little so it wouldnt rub. I didnt really notice much of a height increase, and they are definately smoother than stock.
  3. Vitos Performance has them with the stroker plate for 599.95, and it says it requires no other mods. I dont know if theyll ship to your location though. Also, why would you be able to get a crank shipped to you, but not the pistons that are used with it?
  4. I think the idea is great!! However, I think the specifics definately need worked out. A big problem is going to be that if everyone sends a vhs tape made with a camcorder, that's exactly what it'll look like...a home video. I'm not an expert in the topic, but I think the quality shots you see in the professionally made movies is controlled in a large portion by the camera and film speed/type. You can count me in, but don't get expectations too high without having the right equipment.
  5. I buy mine at Yamaha of Warren...Its right up the road from my house.
  6. I have both, and I like the v-force reeds very much. As you said though, this is a matter of opinion. It seems like the reak issue with v-force reeds is whether or not it is worth the money or not. I havent heard anyone deny the power increase. I would go with the reeds first. Also, I would find out which domes your head has on it, because if it has the 18cc, 93 octane might not be enough...especially with a +4 timing.
  7. I am running 340's in mine (for the winter) and my mods are very similar to what you have. I agree that it sounds like youre running rich. If you need help jetting give me a call or pm me and I can come out and help you figure it out.
  8. Im not sure what that tube does, exactly. I think it creates some type of airlock. One of mine came off, and I just epoxied it back on. While it was off, it didnt seem to run any different, though. If it is lost, you should be able to go to a parts store and buy a new piece of tubing to replace it. As a side note, please try to watch your typing. It was hard to follow the question you were asking.
  9. I'm not 100% sure, but it's been my experience that no/low backpressure is not good for a motor. Someone will post correction if I'm wrong, but i would get the gap in the exhaust fixed.
  10. I bent my frame around the gas tank the same way. I cut the triangle braces out of the corners, and used a port-a-power to push it back up. then I welded in thicker braces.
  11. What would be a good ratio to use for mx with 20" tires?
  12. I have a N-style Gripper seat cover. It seems to be holding up well (had it about 2 years now) and it keeps you from sliding around. Cold doesnt seem to effect it any.
  13. I'm sure by now all the members have seen at least one post about the alleged ban to come on two strokes. I was browsing another site, and found this. I don't know how much factual information is behind this, just thought it was an interesting thought. "OK, everybody listen up. I don't want to have to repeat this. The dawning of the year 2006, will NOT necessarily bring about the end of two stroke motorycles, like many (most?) people believe. I will do my best to make this as clear as I can. The EPA, classifies motorcycles as either street, off road, or closed course. The street category should be self explanatory: any motorcycle that has all the bells and whistles that will allow it to be ridden on the street. Off road motorcycles, are those that are designed for trail riding, like dual purpose machines, enduro bikes, etc. This is the Kawasaki KDX models, the Suzuki RMX models, the KTM EXC models. Finally, there are the closed course models, which include all the motocross bikes. The EPA, has the authority to regulate emissions on all Federal and State regulated land. They don't have the authority to regulate these things on PRIVATE land. Now, since there is a bunch of state and federal land that is used for trail riding and enduro's, they have the authority to regulate the emissions from anything (not just motorcycles) that is used on these lands. The EPA, has by the authority of the Federal Clean Air standards, set the emissions levels for all vehicles used on the lands that they control, at 2 grams of HC (hydrocarbons). No two stroke motorcycle, will meet this standard. So, the manufacturers have said that there is no use in them producing machines that won't meet these standards, because their customers won't have anywhere to ride them. Thus, after 2005, the manufacturers are no longer going to produce two stroke, OFF ROAD motorcycles. Motocross motorcycles, because they are for closed course use only, are not in this category. Thus, unless people quit wanting to buy the two stroke machines, the manufacturers won't stop making them. If the general public quits buying them, then as a good business decision, the manufacturers will probably quit building them." (quote from anonymous author)
  14. You may want to try installing a set of testicles before getting rid of the shee. You might find out you like the quad.
  15. My buddy works at a part store, and he can get it. If you cant get it from holyman, I can get ship some to you.
  16. Your question isnt worded very well, as far and near could be relative to both after and before the TDC. I meant +4 would move it farther before top dead center. Timing Advance The angle, in degrees, between the crankshaft position where a spark plug fires and where its associated piston reaches top dead center.
  17. A tip for using the plastic adhesion promoter: Apply paint over it when its still tacky. If you let it dry completely before you put the paint on, instead of helping adhesion, it forms a hard layer between the plastic and the paint, and actually inhibit adhesion.
  18. I bought my banshee for $800...total piece of shit. I rebuilt it from the ground up, and brought it back to life one piece at a time. This whole time, a buddy of mine with a lt250 was talking shit about how bad he was gonna smoke me. It got to the point where I couldnt even talk to him without being annoyed. Needless to say I handed him his ass...after a million excuses the LT is up for sale, and he wont ride with me anymore.
