I also have the old school fmf gold series. The person who sold them to me told me said they where fattys but is there any way to really tell? They look just like the new fattys and I use just about the same jetting as the new ones but there factory black not nickel platted. Did they only make certain ones in black? Anybody?

I have clear but but I didn t pay that much! I went to a fishing supply place and got a small piece of potable water hose for a boat and put it on my shee and that works fine. I only paid a couple of bucks for it too.

Very true! What premix ratio did you run on your first tank?? The oil you put in the side case never sees the pistons unless you have a big problem. That oil is to lube and cool the clutch and gears.

My buddy had the same thing happen to him. He bought the quad off this kid who put sst pipes on it a 2 years before my friend bought it it ran great even when my friend had it. Then I told him to get a k&n then I showed him how to rejet and I was shocked to see 200 mains in there. Funny thing is it ran the same with the 290s.Hes all set now with jetting but in despreate need for a rebuild with 80 psi in one side and 110 in the other. Hes the type of guy who rides and dosen t care. Sad to see it go to waist.

I have one old style in decent shape. Its black.

Try a new plug and check your spark plug caps make sure they are getting good contact with the wire. If so check your coil resistance if you have a multi meter. Not sure on the specs but I sure someone with a climer book could help. If your still good check your wiring harness for split wires and conectins. Check flywheel to make sure the raised pick ups are clean of rust. Also check pick up magnito for clearence which is where the flywheel makes close contact with the little black box. Its kinda rare for the cdi box to go bad, thats one of the last steps. Go from here and see how it works out. Any questions just ask I delt with the same problem for a long time.

I need a new cluth for my shee. Now I had a couple of questions to run by you guys. What kind should I get? Could I use the stock clutch basket with new plates? and would it be better to get both? I ride both trails and open fields if that helps. Thanks

Ok I went riding yesterday and everything was fine then got on her and shee didn t go. when I hit powerband the engine reved but no go and a strong smell of burnt gear oil. and I also noticed that if I held the clutch in just a cunt hair the bike would shop moving as if it was in all the way. My cable still has the same travel it did before this so it wasen t a stuck cable. Before I tear into her what kind of problem you guys thing this is?

I ve heard by using a hair dryer gets them out. but it didn t work for me so I might be very careful with a heat gun. Is there anyother way you guys?
