  1. You can usually ride Fri. all day and if not, the course is setup Sat. morning like 6am and you can ride the course until liek 1pm when the Buddy race starts, then you can ride once the buddy races are over. I can tell you one thing fellas, I'm gonna be busting ass this next season, that's for sure.
  2. ben, i definitely want to meet up with you at some races! 2 20 mile laps sounds freakin awesome! i'd love to make a trip out there and try some. hope to meet up with you some next season either way.
  3. Yea, they make a 16. If you run a case saver, you might have to trim it. I run a 15 and love it. I'll "fine tune" the rear for where I'm at.
  4. i used to have some new durablue spacers laying around. never used them, i'll see if i can find them.
  5. Taken from VForce's own FAQ page: "Typical gains are 5+% more horsepower throughout the RPM range, depending on motor configuration. Added benefits also include explosive acceleration, crisper throttle response and wider peak horsepower." So, 5% on a 40 hp machine would be.... anyone.... 2 hp. Also, I'm gonna try mine on the low setting when i put everything back together and see how she likes it.
  6. here we go again...
  7. what'd your low and mid do?
  8. Rear tires. How much tread and what you want for em? You got a list of goods?
  9. oh relax, i was making a joke. i posted this and did something and as soon as i looked back you had a new post or had bumped yours or something. no prob with that, i just bumped mine back up because I'm selfish and immature. and i made the sarcastic joke above. just joking around as I do... hey, and I guess that means I'm bumping this again....
  10. Oh man, it was fun as hell. The firs race I was in, the course was 8.4 miles and we had 3 laps to cover. It's actually setup as 1 hour + 1 lap. This course was so tight and rough, it was taking 28 to 33 minutes for racers to complete a lap, so there you have roughly an hour, then add another lap. Normally, the races are fast enough that 4 laps is more typical. They're fun as hell and everyone involved was extremely welcoming and gracious in helping me out and coming up and introducing themselves. First lap of the 3, I had a hell of a time. Got high-centered in a mud rut, had to get off and wrestle it for a good 3 minutes and then on around, I hit a tree with my left front and then flying around a corner through the trees, I leaned way out for some body english and felt this really cold sensation on my leg. I look down to notice the sucky tip off of my hydropak had come off. Knowing damn well there ain't no finishing without it, I pulled over and ran up and down the trail behind me for 4 or 5 minutes till I found it, and I did find it. I must've been a wonderful site to see. The rest of the first lap (yep, I was still on the first lap) was pretty good and didn't have any more probs till halfway through the third/last lap, my tie rod end busted and I was dead in the water. Didn't finish, but it was a great first experience. Just awesome. My first lap time with all the problems was like 35 minutes, so without all the problems, I would've done pretty good. Here's my post after my first race, with some more info on what I did in it. Click anywhere on this sentence Anyways man, I'll give you a shout in a few.
  11. Yea, chicken, that's my thoughts exactly. What about gear? What gear do you all typically run it to, or just run it all the way through 6th and rev that bitch out, I guess that sounds like what you all have done from reading back to your other posts on this.
  12. I wish someone would've told me about it, I had to figure that shit out on my own. Let us know how it turns out then.
  13. There's another identical post down about 5 or 6, maybe 7 posts in this section. You won't be using 275s on your stock carbs, cause they don't make that, but your pretty close in your assumptions. Throw some 300s in there and see how she likes them, if your rich then you know where to go. Don't know what needle clip your on, but you should try the 4th from the top/blunt end if you not there already.
  14. H's not driving from point to point he's coming from Ohio, so he'll probably be coming from a different angle. Just because those are his drive times, doesn't mean if you leave st. anthony's it'll take the difference in time to get from there to Coral.
  15. My Mac is spyware free and virus free...
  16. The nerfs I posted above aren't the same as demon's, but it seems demon's are what I need instead. I like that and I'm really sick of the look of my DG nerfs. I see...... I need the IMS Nerfs not Heel Guards.
  17. I got rid of the stock nerf and the black plastic fender piece a long time ago and I'm looking at some different options and possibly getting rid of my DG nerfs. I'm gonna buy some IMS Kick-up Pegs, and I kinda like the look of the IMS Nerf deals. However, I don't have that stock plastic piece that they're bolted to in every "retail" picture I've seen of them. Are they necessary or can they be bolted on some other way. Does anyone have any pics of them? Can you cut the ear off of them and just bolt them to the pegs on one side and the frame on the other side? Thanks.
  18. I'm GONNA run the shit out of it for $20. But I also felt the numbers were a little low. I'd hate to run some small number and be pissed, but since those are low, I'll at least know what to expect. Guess it'll at least help me get it dialed in good, I can at least watch the curves.
  19. Sup fellas, I talked to a dude that has a big portable Dynojet made for cars/trucks. He says he's ran a couple quads and motorcycles on it. He told me $20 for 5 or 6 runs. I thought I'd ask a few, more basic, questions. How should the dyno run be performed, in regards to what gear(s) to use and other misc. things to do? Should I ask him about when it's been calibrated or anything to help insure the accuracy? He said a stock 400ex he ran on it was just barely wide enough, but fit and put out like 25 hp or something like that. Does that sound right? He also said he had a decently modified YZ250 on it and it ran like 32 or 33 hp. You guys think that's fairly accurate? I guess my concern is putting a quad on a big wide machine for cars/trucks and not getting accurate readings with the little amount of power they put out. I'm also gonna run my truck and see what she puts out, I'm hoping for 750 lb. ft. of torque... Grassyass!
  20. You should take him with your CPI's, just get your revs up and keep them up. He'll probably take you off the line tho, but hang in there.
  21. Man, it seems like a whole lot of fun. I'm actually just getting into XC myself. I raced one race this year. I was hell bent to finish out the last half of the season. 1st race, I busted a tie rod end and couldn't finish then the 2nd race I was going to attend, my back gave out and I couldn't sit let alone on a quad. After that, I realized that I needed a new top end so with that I've gone from just a top end to porting, and a frame rebuild and may have her finished to suit up for the last race of the year. My plans are to have it all ready and go at it full force next season. Seems there is definitely some competition. Seems right now tho, the attendance fluctuates a lot, but as Jen said, they're changing around the schedule to hopefully help out everyone so we can make more races. If your machine is setup pretty well, just get in there and do it. It's fun, there's everything from highly modified yfz's to stock z400s and all in between. The OpenB is a good class, but there can be quite a few in it, where the OpenA may not have as many, but it's another 1/2 hour so I don't want to go at it without some endurance and practice first. The A class is good because they race in the morning before the course gets beat and then they're done by lunch where the B class has to wait until early afternoon. I'd do the A class if I wasn't worried about the extra 1/2 hour, because it would be nice to have a fresh course, and not as many riders and be done earlier. But I'll wait until I'm ready. Definitely get you a Hydropak if you don't already have one, no way of doing it without one. Pm me your phone number and I'll give you a call sometime. Scott
  22. words of advice: if your having the "2-1 bigger main issue" and by this I mean it just seems to keep wanting bigger mains, take out the DEK needle and swap it with an EEK needle. That will get you the fuel you need for the main and make the transition into the main a lot better. Seriously, I've been there and gone through it.
  23. I was thinking more like 360 / 380, but that depends on elevation and temps and all. Keep in mind, I am in no way a stroker guru. Just an opinionated sumbitch!
  24. whahell son.... you got yourself a deal....
  25. no different than running without the lid, but it just filters a little. it may increase power with proper jetting over running with the lid and snorkle, but it's the same as running without a lid.
