  1. what he said. honda engineers got there shit together. 287738[/snapback] I actually don't like Honda's design for adjusting the tension of the chain. I can adjust my chain on my Banshee faster than my 400ex. Oh and I HATE allen heads...that's probably mostly why...
  2. I'm with everything you say RNBRAD....I think this guy just doesn't want to believe that someone else might be as good as the guy who ported his machine. I'm sure Trinity is a good company to go with for porting, considering that they have been working on Banshees for many years. I haven't used anything Trinity, but I have heard more good stories than bad about them.
  3. How old are those V-forces and what shape are they in? Could you take some pics of them?
  4. I would run a taller tire but I'm tight on money, so 20" will have to do. My 30mm carbs should be coming in sometime this next week, or next. What reeds should I get? Boyeson or V-Force and what's a good place to order them from? I might also order a Pro Design Cool Head w/ 21cc domes (so I can still run pump gas). As long as I have the Banshee torn apart right now, are there any companies that sell an aftermarket shift star for easier shifts? And where is the cheapest place to get a good port? Also, I might be able to have test time with gearing...all depending on when I order my mods and if I order any more mods besides my 30mm carbs.
  5. That was totally all her fault, looked like she jumped off to me .
  6. Wow, that's sad you actually thought that was a Banshee! People just put the names of other quads in their title on eBay so more people will see it. If you would've actually looked at the quad itself, lol, it has air-cooling fins on the engine and 4-stroke pipes coming out of it.
  7. Bump. I would also like to know about these, I'm looking to find some nice reeds and can't decide between Boyeson and V-Force.
  8. They will be smaller than the one filter setup because you won't be able to fit two big filters side-by-side coming out of the carbs. I would say go with the 2-filter setup as it will probably draw in more air.
  9. What is a good paint to get if you are going to do it yourself? My frame is partially rusted (from salt from hauling it on an open trailer last winter) and I'm just goin to wire brush it unless I can get my hands on a big enough sand blaster. My friend paints his Blaster frames but it usually doesn't hold up very long in high-wear parts (where your boots rub).
  10. Mine was causing issues with jetting after it was rebuilt, finally just took it off and it ran much better, I just couldn't get the jetting right with that damn thing on there. And I never noticed a difference with it on (performance-wise).
  11. I use carpenter screws, basically same thing. They are not hard at all to get into the tire, just VERY time consuming. As long as you have good tread on the tire and put it into the tread, it shouldn't ruin your tire.
  12. I ran ice screws in my Holeshot MX's and none of them came out on the ice, only time they came out was when I did a 1st-5th gear burnout on blacktop trying to drag . This winter I'm taking those same tires (all of the screws are worn out so I can't take them out and I'm too poor to buy new tires) and putting studs in them, probably will be anywhere from an inch to two inches long. I should get plenty of traction with those. A friend of mine ran ice studs in his tires on his 416ex, he had it geared up as much as possible and could still pull the front end up in 3rd and 4th gear!
  13. Alright thanks, is 14/41 the stock gearing then?
  14. Exactly. A friend of mine ported his own Blaster and now he thinks it's God-like (still completely sucks compared to a stock Banshee or even 400ex) and he wants me to let him port my Banshee. I always tell him that I want it "professionaly" done and he takes offense to it saying, "It's not that hard you know, you can do it yourself and save a lot of money." I don't care how much someone convinces me that I can do it myself, I'd want something that can't be changed back to be done by a pro.
  15. Yes you will have to rejet, going from an airbox to clamp-ons makes a huge difference because so much air is being introduced to the filters at once. I would suggest going up to a 300 if not 320. Go from there and you'll also have to adjust your needles and probably your air/fuel screw.
  16. On January 24th I will be doing a radar run on Lake Washington in Minnesota and I am going to need to make sure I have the best gearing for the quarter mile. I am running FMF Fatty pipes and Powercore II silencers and ordering PWK30mm carbs. I MIGHT be adding Pro Design cool heads and 21cc domes to it later on and maybe even V-Force 2 reeds, or 3 if I can get them for a good price. Can someone tell me what is THE best sprocket set up for the 1/4. I will be running 20" tires on HiPer rims with ice screws and studs. The studs will probably be around 1-2 inches long. Thanks in advance. Also, right now I am running one tooth smaller than stock (13 I believe) and it's definately way too low for my liking, I don't even think I can hit the powerband in any gear. Feels almost like a Blaster . What is the stock gearing?
  17. I'm running a 13t up front and I'm going to switch to a 14 or 15 this winter, I just have no top end at all anymore. It's too low so I can't even use the power of the engine, I have to shift before I really get into the powerband. The only reason I put on the 13t was because my dad didn't think I need to be going that fast anyway (now that I think about it, I don't see why he had a say in it.. ). What tooth would you recommend for a stock bore, maybe 21cc domes, 30mm carbs and V-force reeds? This will be for ice drags, running 20 inch tires. And this will be for a 1/5-1/4 mile radar run.
  18. Those were the carbs I was talking about on eBay for $230, I guess I could try bidding on it at the last minute and getting it for about $200.
  19. Where can I find Keihin PWK30mm carbs?? I checked on eBay and once in a great while this company sells them for $230, is that a good enough price?
  20. Do I know you? Has that retard been banned yet?
  21. I'd like to see a video of that also... A friend of mine has a "modded" Blaster (he attempted to mill and rechamber the head himself, has really cheap reeds ($8), and a pipe and silencer) and I WASTE him on my 400ex, which just has a slip-on pipe made for low-end power and I have a smaller front sprocket. I waste him on take-off and all the way through the gears...he can't even catch up with me at the end for about a mile. Blasters are sorta fun, if you have no money, but they are not high-performance machines whatsoever. You can fully mod one out, and still not be able to beat a piped Banshee or piped 250R. Get a Banshee
  22. I've beaten a stock YFZ450 by about a bike length on blacktop, and I've never dragged any other 450's. And about those plugs...I didn't know they made radioactive plugs for engines! I think you meant Iridium . I run those in my Banshee and they are awesome, MUCH better spark and they last MUCH longer. I'd highly recommend them to anyone who fouls plugs. My banshee sat from January to June and the first kick it started right up! Is there anything out there to help with shifting? I can not shift for the life of me with my boots on, I even adjusted the shift lever farther up like I did on my 400EX and I can still not shift. It seems to be way too short, but I haven't found any longer levers...just shorter ones, which I don't know why you would want a shorter one. Is there anything I can get internally that will help with shifting? Maybe aftermarket shift forks or something?
  23. No I'm not his friend, he wishes I was considering calls me every f'in day... He should just be blocked from the site so we don't have to deal with his dumb posts that makes everyone more stupid for reading them. I'm going out for a ride on my REAL Banshee.
  24. No but his mom was when he was in the womb.
