i just turn around and sit backwards on my shee and giv'r hell!! look mom, i'm in reverse

my shee is set up for summer riding, and i'm planning on heading out this weekend with the temps in the 30's or so, at pretty much the same elevation. would putting the airbox lid back on be sufficient rather than rejetting? i know that i jumped from like around 300's to 360's when i removed the lid. i'm assuming replacing it will have the same effect as increasing jet size. i'd rather end up running rich than too lean.

how about- the band - the nameless - the unknowns - undiscovered- the forgotten ones- i think this is where this is leading kind of hard to name a band without a taste of the music and what they represent. how about the boners- cause you sure are getting screwed on this one

for anyone still interested... i've searched and searched for the cover i wanted, and this was the closest thing i've found yet. check it out. i might go with this one. i'm not gonna use all the graphics though, i'll probably leave off the fender graphics. http://www.tk-motosports.com/yamahakits.htm

i agree with white trash shee rider. get a pro flow adapter and filters. the seal will be 10x better to the airbox and the filters are much better than the stock pos. again, rejet accordingly and you'll be fine. don't forget, you'll have to check and clean your filters more often too without the lid on. and be careful if you get into deep water that may flow over and into your airbox. remove the drain cap on the bottom of the box just in case so it will drain out quickly. and head to the jetting and exhaust forums for more on proper jetting, and do a search on it. and welcome to the HQ!

yeah i agree with that. i do see a lot of totally rediculous topics and responses. but some of you who have so many posts also are the most informative and beneficial to the site. i know that i do A LOT more reading than i do posting. i guess it's the 'learn to crawl before you can walk' deal. at least that's how i look at it. i just hope to have as much info to offer to others sometime as some of you do. believe me, it's greatly appreciated.

some of you guys have a few thousand posts on here and apparently get in a lot of riding time too. i'm jealous dammit!! i'll be here for 10 years till i get 3000 posts and log your hours of riding. i guess that's what long hours at work and having a family does to you. i guess you can't have the best of both worlds. but i'm sure gonna try

yeah buddy, too many 'salesmen' and not enough riders. maybe they were selling vacuums or insurance door to door before selling quads and bikes. sales is sales right?
-
then again, somebody actually filmed the whole thing laughing the whole time. i don't know which was worse.

i asked my buddy at the shop the same thing. there is very little difference between 80 and 85w besides cost. not enought to have an ill affect on anything anyway. just don't switch all the time. make the switch and stick with it.

here in pa, you aren't allowed on roads even if snow covered unless they are shutdown and declared a state of emergency. if you are willingly breaking the law, be prepared to suffer the consequences IF you get caught, and don't be a bawl bag about it! the cop's just doing his job. it's not only you that you create a safety issue with, it's anyone else on the road also, including the police cruising the area protecting you and yours otherwise. i know it seems harmless to us, but there is potential for trajedy there, so we're definitely on opposite sides of the fence with the cops on this one. i won't deny riding on the roads, whether snowy or middle of summer, and chances are i would run if chased. it wouldn't be the first time for being chased, even done it on a street bike a few times. circumstances are everything though, so it's a judgement call. i believe it is a felony to run here and the cops can crash you to make you stop. also the cam's really limit your chances of getting away with it. your taking a huge chance either way. bottom line is this. learn to be responsible for your actions, or change your habits!! i love the part about being a decent citizen and pulling over for the cop. i'm sure the cop's thinking that a decent citizen wouldn't be doing this to begin with.

she kicked the shit out that guy, but he deserved it! the best part is when the cop car just rolls on by!

don't feel bad. i've had my shee out once since before thanksgiving. shee doesn't go to well in the snow, and this time of year, however, it does suck riding in rain. 40 degrees and rain or snowing isn't a good combination for the shee.
-
my shee pretty much sits thru winter too. actually beginning when archery season starts in october. hunting season takes over from there. and after that, as long as there's snow on the ground it stays in the garage. i've gotten stuck to many times, and it just slips and slides everywhere and goes nowhere in a little bit of snow. maybe it's just my tires, but i'm not getting new tires just for winter riding. i borrow the old man's rubicon instead if i wanna go.

if your jets are clean and fine, check the carb boots to make sure they are secure and not torn or cracked at all. make sure your your throttle valve slide is in right and tight. make sure your carbs are in sync. sometimes when you pull the carbs out you need to re sync them. i'd check them everytime you pull one or both.
-
how do you have your quad supported? maybe it's in a bind and you need to lift/lower it a little. i had to mess with mine like that a few times till i got it all the way out. if you think that's bad, wait till you pull the stock rear axle out for the 1st time. that really sucked!!

i watch the show whenever i get a chance. don't know why though, cuz after every show i'm wondering why i wasted my time. this wasn't any different. the sport atv shows usually aren't that realistic or interesting, and the ute shows are just testing spiffs. if you have $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to spend on the rv's they travel in and haul their quads with, you'll be more interested in them than their rides. sometimes that's the coolest part of the show. i guess if your a total newbie to atv's, you may learn something. and they do make atv riding look respectable to the enviro's and extemists out there who would love to trash our sport. but it's just not what i see, or like to see when i'm out and about. fisher's atv world, on the other hand, usually is much better. where's it been lately??
