we're doing what we need to do to help prevent events like 9-11 from occurring again. it should have been done right the 1st time we were there years ago. but hey, now's the chance and they are getting it done. to those who think u.s. troops are out of line or too brutal, etc., this is a fucking war ya know. it's not a business deal at the local golf course. it's pretty mild to any of the shit that those other bastards do to our troops, or even our citizens. those guys/gals are putting their lives on the line so that the rest of us here can carry on a normal life as we know it, and the same for our children. we owe them our thanks and respect, at the very least, rather than a bunch of bitching and moaning about how they're getting it done or bullshit stories about why it all started. stand up and salute your U.S.A flag and all that it stands for, or piss off and get the fuck out of our country.

you can't go wrong with wiseco's bud. i'm not saying they are without a doubt the best out there, but they're definitely up there.
-
i've done mine just like bigred without any problems also
-
well bud, in my experience, spark plugs don't just 'malfunction'. there has to be other problems at hand to cause damage to a spark plug. i think he's full of shit. my first guess would be an air leak also.

a new stock basket will run you around $175. i'm sure it's a basket and gear assembly together since it's riveted together. i'd bet the only way you could reuse the original gear with another stock basket would be to tap the basket rivet holes and screw it together, that's basically how aftermarket ones come, with screws to put your gear back on. not sure if you can get stock cushions replaced seperately though, since the stocker isn't made to pull apart and reassemble. i don't know if aftermarket cushions are the same diameter/thickness or not, but they are sold seperately. my hinson basket w/cushions was $190 from rmatv. in my opinion there's no comparison. if you have it apart and things need replaced, go with an aftermarket over the stock. you won't regret spending the $$ for it.

pull out the push lever assembly(where your cable hooks at the engine) and see if it's worn where the rod rides on it. here's a pic of one from my nephew's blaster when he had clutch problems.
-
usually the only time i'll hit up bluetraxx is when i need to look up something about my nephew's blaster. but since i bought a clymers for it too, bt is pretty much a thing of the past for me. besides, the shee guys here seem to know as much or more about the blaster than the guys in the blaster forums on bluetraxx.

new stock ones are rediculously expensive. i replaced mine once, only to break it again in about 2 months. trails can reak havoc on them. i took mine off, but kept the stock nerfs on. i was really leery about ditching them, but haven't had any issues without them yet.
-
oh yeah, that too, lol. when i did mine the pressure plate had stress cracks all through it, and the basket fingers were grooved pretty bad, enough to justify replacing the basket. i went with the hinson basket (pricey) and stock pressure plate and inner hub, which were surprisingly cheap from the stealership.
-
yeah i know, it's not a big deal to most, but it's a milestone for me and i had to celebrate only 9,000 + to catch loco, lol.
-
sounds like it's the overflow hose, which is supposed to drain excess gas from the carb, like when you have a float sticking. maybe that's your problem. the overflow usually points straight back though.
-
it would be a good idea to turn off the key or kill switch also so shee doesn't take off on you :baseball_w00t: search the 'product reviews' for compression testers, i had a thread there with a lot of good responses.

it's probably slipping in all the gears, it's just more noticable in 5th and 6th. check the steels for bluing too, which results from overheating. odds are if they are blued, they are also warped. the tusk clutch kits from rmatv seem pretty good, haven't had any probs with mine over the past year. check the oil for coolant leakage, it will be milky looking if it has coolant in it. the coolant will degrade the clutch fibers and make it slip. if that's the case, your in for a new impeller seal, bearing, and i'd upgrade to an aluminum impeller while it's apart. buy a clymer's, if you don't already have one. and it'll walk you through clutch replacement and adjustment.
-
i'll second that statement
-
i usually just take a sharpie and draw a line across the nuts, and check it frequently to see if it has moved. of course you need to recoat the line occassionally to see it though.
-
yeah, it could just be that the nuts are loose. tighten them up ( there's a trick to it, do a search) but if they are tight, you'll have to pull the axle out and replace the bearings. it can be a real bitch to get out if it's the first time having it out though. a bmfh will be your best friend  just be careful not to biff up the threads on the axle. and pack that thing FULL of grease when you reassemble it, maybe even put in a grease zerk to keep it lubed up.
-
they will definitely be getting wet from time to time, but i always wear gloves riding, so hopefully that will help. thanks guys.
-
i just ordered some spider slt grips from rmatv. they look like they'd be pretty comfortable. any experience with them? they were a few bucks more than lots of others, but hopefully you get what you pay for.
-
i'd definitely look at the impeller and seal. they are pretty much destined to fail on any banshee at one point or another. my impeller was pretty much disintegrated and the seal was shot. you better fix it asap or not ride until it's fixed. the coolant will cause your clutch fibers to come apart also, meaning replacing the clutch as well. there's also an o-ring seal where the cases meet where the coolant travels from the cover to the engine case, that will wear out sometimes also. if it is the impeller and seal, upgrade to a pro design aluminum impeller, but i'm sure the seal and bearing is a stealership replacement.

TIRE presure! ---Whats urs---

stock wheels - 30 kpa (4.5 lbs) ft and rr. riding pretty much anywhere but sand, lol. -
it is pretty lame here in pa that there is a seat belt law "click it or ticket" lol, but they did away with the helmet law. if you have a mc license anyway, just a mc permit still requires a helmet until you get your license. big ben didn't have either, jack ass. for all you people who see a sport bike rider and think "organ donor" you are totally wrong. granted there are lots out there who treat the street like it's a track or stunt lot, but lots of us just like the sporty look and sound over polishing a chromed up chugalug harley any day. the fact is that a lot of sport bikes and other bikes have the same motors in them, just one is covered with plastics instead of chrome. besides, i rarely see a sport bike rider without a helmet here, also usually at least wearing a leather jacket and gloves, jeans, sometimes even riding boots. but i see loads of people on 'regular bikes' or 'touring bikes ' without a helmet and wearing shorts and a t-shirt or less and tennis shoes or loafers every day. and you'd be surprised at the skill level of a sport bike rider compared to many joe blow touring bike geeks who really should have stayed on 4 wheels instead of 2.

i'm so disgusted after reading all these replies to this thread that i don't even no where to begin. it pisses me off too that some people take advantage of the welfare system. hell, my own sister had abused it for years before she got off her ass and got a job. she doesn't make much now and still requires some assistance. but by God at least she's trying to do it on her own now. my wages have me working about 2 hours a week too much to qualify for any assistance, and that blows. if we qualified, i would do it without an ounce of shame. there's a difference between accepting the help that is out there, or taking advantage of the system and being a worthless lazy ass bastard / bitch that lives off of it. your income sets the level of assistance you recieve also. it's not like i'd have all the same benefits that someone with half my income would have. one thing that does really piss me off are the people who complain that they don't have money to pay their bills, feed and clothe the kids, etc, but they never run out of beer or cigarettes. if your beer and cig's are more important to you than the well being of your kids then fuck off, you don't deserve any assistance from anybody or anything. and don't bitch to me about your bills over your new cell phone or new computer either. anything i have i've worked my ass off for it and it's taken years to get the things i have now. i've bought one thing, paid it off, then bought another and paid it off, and so on. so i have had the same car for 14 years, the same sport bike for 10 years, my 93 blazer for 6 years, this computer for 6 years, and so on. and yes, my wife bitches at me every time i spend $20 on the shee, unless there's ot on my paycheck to cover it. the bottom line is you need to live within your budget. all the bitching and moaning and bashing aside, you need to determine what your priorities are, and not exceed your budget with things that you don't need. it's that simple. some will give up more than others, but hey that's just life. but as usual, this has just turned into another bitch fest that will go on and on until someone finally shuts it down. :yankyank:

yeah, it takes a while to get used to shifting with the boots on and the shifter moved up. i missed a few shifts here and there for a while but like anything else, you'll adapt and get over it. as far as the sizing, i think slightly big is better than too small and cramped.

can i ride a shee on trails and woods?
MILO replied to blaster205's topic in General Banshee Discussion
if you like the blaster in the trails you will love the banshee in the trails. you just have to train yourself to handle it on the trails and you'll easily keep up with anything else in tight spots, and blow them away on the open spots. as far as i'm concerned, it's an awesome trail ride. learn to manipulate the clutch and powerband and you won't regret getting a shee. -
you would think that anyone who gets bashed around as much as an nfl qb would appreciate the need for a helmet more than anybody. i've always liked big ben, but what the hell was he thinking? :shoothead:
