  1. second gear is a good gear to start in. shifting without the clutch wont hurt anything but you have to let off the gas to do that, you will be faster if you do this. start the race as normal and hold the gas wide open constantly, never let off the gas until you finish. to shift, keep pressure on the shifter and just tap the clutch for a split second when you are ready to shift. it will slide into the next gear and you never had to let off the throttle. it sounds like a lot to do, but once you do it a couple times it will be second nature and you'll be doing it all the time.
  2. try the kenda klaws, they are cheap as shit and have very good traction in most situations, plus the treads last a long time.
  3. when your o2 sensors goes bad it shouldn't hurt your engine, your computer will go into safe mode a.k.a limp mode and the computer will not pay attention to the bad sensor. the check engine light will come on and thats it.

  6. so are you saying that you are making 72hp on stock stroke, yes or no?
  7. no it wont hurt your engine, is your 350z turboed or something?
  8. im in ohio also and would like to drag in open field.
  9. You need to ask yourself a few questions before you decide. 1. how much do I want to spend? 2. how fast do I want to go? 3. how good are my tuning skills. gorr port job = $225 makes 58hp passion regular port = $375 prolly makes similar hp passion 12 port = $500 may make a little more but needs big carbs and big exhaust to get your moneys worth out of it. this port job can be tempermental to tune.
  10. banshee 37 raptor 35 400ex 28 blaster 19 yfz 450 41 these are rwhp and someone else may have different answers, but these should be close for stock machines.
  11. I used to run toluene/pump gas mix in my turbo acura with 17psi. I used to have a book called maximum boost by Corky Bell and it had some info about toluene. In the book he said you shouldnt run 100% toluene because it would be hard to start or something. You can also use xylene, lowes sells it and xylene is 117 octane. I think toluene is 114 or there abouts.
  12. they take too much fabrication to get into a banshee frame. You would have better luck on planetsand.com, those guys are all about sled engines.
  13. http://www.thundervalleydirtdrag.com/ http://www.bbdrdirtdrags.com/ where you at in PA? Im not sure if the thunder valley place is in Pa, but I thinks it close. Did you get your motor back yet?
  14. 160main 50 pilot, then work your main down to 150-155
  15. its very easy, 1. get a clymer manual 2. follow the steps 3. test drive it
  16. Just got done riding for the day, earlier I went to summit and got some of the fuel fragrance. I mixed it before everyone got there and when we started riding my exhaust was smelling like cinnamon/vanilla. It was funny as shit, everyone was asking what kind of gas I had. After a while I told them what I did. The bad thing is that now my fuel petcock valve leaks bad now. after we were done I noticed the left side of the engine was wet with gas and dripping from the valve. I doubt it is from the fragrance, but I will never use it again.
  17. what premix oil have you guys noticed to smoke the most? Is there any premixes out there that will smoke even when the engine is warmed up? My oil barely smokes at all and i want to smoke my buddies out next time we ride. They always complain about how bad my exhaust smells.
  18. do not try to judge if your clutch is adjusted right by trying to roll the bike in gear with the engine off and clutch pulled in. do what the clymer says and it will be perfect. If you adjust it by putting it in gear while the engine is off and trying to roll the bike, it will be way out of adjustment. just for reference, the clutch does not disengage any gears when you pull it in. It only seperates crank rpms from the tranny, so the engine can maintain rpms and not put power to the transmission.
  19. holy shit every ride!! I use the oil yamaha says to use and I change it when the book says to.
  20. oh boy, does your friend have expierence porting cylinders?
  21. 15-38 is a lot of gear, you'll prolly have to start in first with that gearing. give it a shot, then mess with it if you dont like it.
  22. 2nd is best gear to start in cause it is one less shift you have to worry about and it will pull longer off the starting line. what size is your back tire? I used to run 14-41 with stock rear tires and just some fmf sst's and I liked it. starting in second
  23. do you want to start out in first or second
