you have a air leak pretty bad some where, are you plugs good and tight? from the looks of it it ran way too lean, not enough gas plus too much air will = a burnt piston really fast, you need to check for air leaks ,whats your jetting?

yeah stan its the lime green one, everthing seems to spin fine,i would still like to boroscope the rod bearings to see what they look like, there are very very very minor scratches on the cylinder walls, you cant even hang a soft piece of .010 wire on the them and its only 3 of them , i did some honeing and it cleaned them up enough where i think i can make it back to the track this weekend. hope it works out then i will pull them back off and go 4 over when im done racing

Hey guys, went riding a couple weeks ago and i rode for about 2 mintues and the engine started loosing power so i pull over and pulled the plugs, the left cylinders spark plug was grey as hell, i knew then i was in trouble, i had a buddy pull me back to the truck, well i pulled the head and there was a hole in the top of the piston, done run her to lean and hot, now i have to get her going for some drag races by friday. im just hoping i didnt trash the bearings on the crank, what a pain in the ass that will be

Alright guys, Im not stupid in anyways when it comes to automotive repair, i have worked on cars, trucks, motorcycles, planes all my life. i currently work at a mechanic shop. so here is the deal. i have been trying to save my buddy some money trying to keep him from taking his car to a shop for repair. its a 90 pontiac firebird 5.7 and it will not start. heres the short story. he pulled up to a bar, went in , came out, and it wouldnt start. i didnt take my solis snap on scanner out there yet to see what was wrong but i did check fuel and fire. the fuel pump is running, how much psi doesnt matter now cause i have no fire. i did check injector pulse and it has none. it does have power to the injectors but the EMC isnt grounding them. with no fire or injector pulse im thinking the module or pickup in the distributor, well neither was the problem. so far have changed the coil, module, pickup, EMC still no fire, can anyone lend any helpful thoughts?

thats not true, i went to the body shop next door and they gave me some plastics adhesive promotor used to paint plastic front bumpers on cars. anyways you spray it as a primer and then use a regular base coat clear coat, i did my buddys and he beats the shit out of his and no chips yet! also you should see Walts banshee!
