  6. Switch wires & plugs ( 1 at a time) to see if prob. Follows. if not, clean carb(s), check pick up gap

  9. Prob. Cable or slides. How are u killing it? Once it's shut off look at slides. If stuck, see if its cable causing it, if not, its the slides/bore.

  12. Didn't read the whole 13-year-old post but... no, no Silencers, will not cause that. usually it's an air leak or sticking carburetor slide. I'd verify slides are returning to idle and if so, do a leak down test.
