justind574 Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 I was wondering is there an easy way to to find out if my coolant is pumping through everything. I recently drained the coolant and put fresh engine ice in. I figured it might drain down a little after alot of riding but the level hasnt budged...thanks Quote
shee4speed Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 you should be able to see the coolant move around with it running through the radiator cap. If not the coolant will warm up,stick your finger in the radiator and feel it. Quote
locogato11283 Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 your coolant level should not drop. Quote

locogato11283 Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 i just wasnt for sure if there was a good way to figure out if the coolant is actually pumping through as long as your impeller didnt melt, it should be fine. Quote
shee4speed Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 or if your billet impeller shaft breaks. Take it from me. Quote
justind574 Posted August 23, 2008 Author Report Posted August 23, 2008 maybe thats what i was getting at. being able to tell if its melted or broke without draining it all again and taking the pump cover off Quote
jayzx10r Posted August 24, 2008 Report Posted August 24, 2008 If it wasn't pumping for whatever reason, you wouldn't have heat transfer to the radiator or hoses. If you spark it and feel heat in the hose, you have a circulating system. Quote
