TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 No jetting issues, plug chop prooved that today. Checked flywheel, stator, etc. Everything is good. Pulse is good. Put 104 Octane in it, still no luck. Took my timing back to 0, or stock timing, and nothing. So where in the heck do I look for low end bog/lagging? Oh, and no air leaks/leaking on the leakdown test. Does anyone here think with my modifications in my signature written at the bottom of this post thin kthat 33 mm PWK carbs are too big, causing no low end.... I mean no bottom end at all whatsoever. This bike honestly takes 3 seconds maybe 4 seconds when you punch it to hit the power. Very disappointing. So where do I turn to now? What do I check? Quote
okbeast Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 No carbs will not cause that problem, not as big as you're making it seem. Did you do a plug chop at WOT or do one (i'm not sure it's even possible) at lower RPM. A WOT plug chop is not going to help you in this case. It still sounds like either pilot, or needle jetting issue. What has Kevin told you to try? I still dont understand why you have all these questions when you have a builder that did the bike... Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 What has Kevin told you to try? I still dont understand why you have all these questions when you have a builder that did the bike... We covered everything Kevin has told us so far... I have these questions because I got my hands dirty too... was over there since the a.m. working on it as well. Myself and 3 well known bike mechanics say this is not jetting. I wish someone on this forum can try and jet it to proove it's not jetting. Quote
okbeast Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) Lol, ok. Sounds like ur fucked. Better look at a 4-stroke. :ninja: Edit: Don't remember what the other post said, did you check compression and squish yet? Edited July 31, 2008 by okbeast Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 Squish is good, compression is 184 PSI on left, 185 PSI on right Quote
okbeast Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Haha, I know how ya feel (not really all my stuff runs good LOL). J/p man, keep at it. I'll see what I can dig up, but it sounds like you've covered all the basics so far. Random stuff to check... pickup gap checked ALL electrical? pistons in backwards Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Have you tried replacing the spark plug boots? If those start screwing up, it can cause all kinds of weird crap to happen. Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 No I didn't... I'll have to do a part swap on those with a buddy. Thank you for that little piece of advice. Anyone out there, please chime in. Me, a local motor builder, etc. We are stuck in quicksand here Quote
No Limit Powersports Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 What jetting do you have in it and who did the porting??? Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 Jetting is: 155 main 50 pilot CEL on 4th clip Air screw 1.5 turns out Kevin Herr at Herr Jugs Racing Quote
No Limit Powersports Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 4th clip sound way to fat try dropping the needle to the 2nd clip and see if it cleans up Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 I've had it there several times... maybe 3 to be honest I had this.... and no joke.... I said it before Everywhere from 162 mains and 52 pilots to 148 mains and 45 pilots AND.... the needle on every one of those jetting.... on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th clip.... on every jetting stop along the way. It took me days, ;eading me to be pissed. And also the air screws everywhere from 1.5 turns to 2.5 turns every stop along the way. Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) We found an air leak in the intake... hopefully this is where the problem is... didn't show up earlier but while spraying contact solution on the intake, it is slowing the rpm idle down a tad. So we migth have found something Edited July 31, 2008 by TeamRealtreeHD Quote
No Limit Powersports Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 have you tried it without your filter Quote
